Summary: Dream and Techno finally get on a team of the Tournament of Legends, unfortunately it's for the one game neither are good at
(kind of a continuation of Walk The Red carpet/set in the same AU)
(warning: more shenanigans)

Techno anxiously paced around the Puzzles spawn area, muttering to himself. "Hope I get another actually competent teammate," he joked, aware of the cameras watching his every move. "You know, someone who's uh, not me."
He was really praying for someone like Stampy (who'd been his teammate the last they'd played Puzzles and allowed them to get 3rd) but it was a complete gamble.
"Hey Techno," Dream's voice called, the blond coming up next to him. Despite the mask covering his eyes, Techno could tell he was nervous from his lack of a smile and the amount he was fidgeting. "How's you holdin' up?"
"Fine besides the fact I can't do Puzzles to save my life," Techno said with a dry laugh. "You?"
Dream chuckled. "Good, good, just anxious," he sighed. "Hoping I can do better than 6th this time."
"You might be the only one worse than me at puzzle maps here," Techno commented, flashing him a grin. "Weren't you the only one that rage-quit midway during Skeppy and Bad's?"
The blond flushed and tuned away, crossing his arms. "Shut up! That was one time and it's because I kept dying! Finn didn't finish either!"
"Least Finn made it to the end."
"SHUT UP!"
"Attention contestants!" the announcers voice boomed, catching everyone's attention. "The next game will start in one minute so please head on over to Puzzles if you are not already there!"
Dream and Techno glanced at each other and nodded.
"Good luck bacon."
"You too green boy."
The two parted to wait for the game to start, worry and anxiety clouding both of their minds but pushed behind a mask. At least for Dream, Techno seemed to wear his stress like a badge which confused the blond to no end.
There was a flash of white and all the contestants were separated into the start of the puzzle rooms which their new teammate by their side.
Techno blinked a few times, the flash of teleportation always a bit startling, and looked around for his teammate. Unfortunately, all his eyes fell on was a blond man in a lime green hoodie.
Dream glanced up and as soon as he made eye contact with Techno his heart sank. "Oh you've gotta be kidding me..."
"Well." Techno sighed. "We're gonna loose."
"No! We're not gonna loose! We might be at a disadvantage but..." Dream trailed off, already starting to doubt himself. "Whatever, let's just do this."
The blond turned to the signs ahead of him that stood in front of a large room. "You must be divided into separate rooms for this puzzle, please make sure to step into separate rooms or you will not be able to complete the puzzle," he read. "You will have twenty minutes to complete this, good luck."
"We're gonna loose," Techno muttered, not waiting another second before heading into the door on his left. Dream stepped into the right one and was met with a small room with more stuff in it.
"Okay, so what's in your room?" he called to Techno, glancing around.
"Uhhh lots of leaves and vines, some platforms made of blue and orange clay," the pink-haired called back. "Also I have a lever in my inventory which is probably important."
Dream glanced at his inventory and noticed the enchanted level in his inventory. He switched over to it and saw the name "Drop To Switch!" engraved on it.
"I have it too," he reported. "My room has a lot of ladders and minecarts, kinda like a mineshaft but with the blue and orange things like you said."
There was a familiar vwoop in his ears and he was suddenly teleported in a vine-covered room with leftover purple particles drifting around him. He stumbled and would've fallen over if it wasn't for the wall behind him.
"Oh god that was unpleasant," Techno said in his earpiece.
"What the hell did you do?"
"I dropped the lever to see what it would do; guess it just switches us."
Dream looked down at the lever in his hand before swiftly putting it back in his inventory. "Okay, well I'm gonna try and find out what we're supposed to do."
Even though he couldn't reach any of the vine patches, he decided to try anyways. He grabbed onto the end of one of them and tried to haul himself up, scraping at the walls with his shoes. The vine abruptly snapped and he yelped, his foot slipping and crashing onto his back.
"What're you even doing?" Techno very confused voice asked.
"Trying," Dream grunted back, getting back to his feet.
"Can you try better?"
"Well if you're so smart why don't you try something?" Dream shot back, running a hand through his hair.
"I already did nerd. If you jump it literally throws you into the air and you can get on a platform."
"O-oh..." Dream jumped up and yelped as he was launched higher than he would have been, and landed on the lowest platform.
Techno jumped on his platform but frowned when he wasn't shot into the air again. "Guess the orange ones don't do anything..."
"Well I'm the opposite," Dream said. "I can't jump on the blues."
"You can't jump on them?"
"Shut up you know what I mean."
