Chapter 3
(W/c) = weapon choice
(S/c) = skin colour
(Y/n)'s P.O.V.
I turned around slowly, scared to see what was behind me.
I knew it wasn't the pack. No one roared.
Once I was fully turned, I saw a monster.
A manticore.
It was on the other side of the street.
I started breathing heavily.
I couldn't shift, or else I'm risking revealing myself to the world.
I had no weapons.
But then a voice spoke in my head.
The necklace.
I slowly put my hand up to the necklace that was around my neck.
The chain was made of gold and had a dove.
Out of instinct, I pulled the dove off the chain.
I was shocked when the dove turned into (w/c).
I looked down at the weapon in my hands.
Then I looked back up again, my fear gone.
I stared at the manticore.
That's when it charged.
Nico's P.O.V.
I was currently traveling back to Camp Half-Blood after visiting Hazel at Camp Jupiter.
I was in a town in Indiana, called Monroe.
I was gonna take a bus to, hopefully, New York.
But I heard a roar close to here.
And I mean really close.
I could see the manticore from where I stood in line.
The manticore was charging at a girl/boy that looked about my age.
She/He was holding a (w/c) in her/his hand.
She/He ran at the manticore.
I would say she/he was pretty stupid to do that until I saw what she/he did.
Right when she/he was in front of the manticore, she/he slid under it and attacked it's stomach.
She/He looked like she had a lot of experience.
And I knew she/he was a demigod. She/He was able to see the manticore and was fighting to survive.
I finally summoned my stygian iron sword and ran to the manticore and the girl/boy.
While the manticore turned around to get the girl/boy, I attacked from behind it, dodging it's scorpian tail just in time.
The girl/boy saw me and was shocked for a minute, but quickly regain focus on the problem at hand.
We fought together to fight the manticore.
The girl/boy finally managed to stab the beast in the heart, and it turned to golden dust.
I was panting and sweating right now. So was the girl/boy.
She/He turned around and smiled at me.
"Thanks for the help!" She/He smiled brightly.
Now that we weren't fighting and moving a lot, I could take in all of her/his features.
She/He was quite pretty/handsome, I had to admit.
She/He had (h/l) (h/c) hair, and bright (e/c) eyes.
Her/His skin was (s/c), it went perfect with her/his other features.
She/He had some freckles scattered around her/his nose that made her/him look quite cute.
Sorry if you don't actually have freckles.
Wait! What am I saying!
I nodded at her/him.
Then our eyes met.
We stared at each others eyes for a few minutes.
I noticed her/his eyes change colour but they would always end up back to (e/c) or a bright sapphire blue.
I was the one who finally broke the eye contact and quickly look away, blushing a bit.
I noticed the girl/boy was blushing a bit too.
"Um...I'm Nico. What's your name?" I asked, trying to make a conversation.
"(Y/n)." She/He smiled.
Wow, her/his name was even pretty too.
"So...I'm guessing your a demigod too?" (Y/n) asked.
I nodded.
"Who's your godly parent? Or do you not know?" She/He asked again.
"My dad is Hades." I said, not looking at her/him.
"Not proud with having Hades as your dad?"
I was shocked by the question.
"Um...guess you can say that. Do you know your godly parent?" I asked.
She/He shook her head.
"I know it's my mom. That's all." (Y/n) shrugged.
"How about you come with me? I'm heading to Camp Half-Blood right now." I offered.
"Sure!" She/He smiled brightly.
I smiled back a little.
We both walked to line that was now shorter to get bus tickets to New York.
We waited about 5 minutes before the bus arrived.
Just before we boarded, (y/n) ears seem to perk up, then she quickly got on the bus.
I wonder what that was about...
I just shrugged and got on the bus, following her to the back.
As we sat down, I just noticed that (y/n) didn't have her (w/c). I also noticed that she now had a small dove on her necklace that was just the chain before.
She had an enchanted item. A necklace that turned into her weapon.
That got me thinking why it was a dove, of all the things the charm could've been.
I might have an idea now who her mother is.
