Levi's POV

It's been a week since Wall Sina was saved... A week since I last saw Eren, and it's starting to get to me.

I've become very jittery and restless without him, not mention my sleepless nights have returned.

"Levi you look like shit." Shitty Glasses commented, she wasn't wrong though. I'm exhausted not to mention worried.

I just click my tongue in response and continue to walk down this long ass corridor. It was the Trio's trial day, if it wasn't for the fact that they not only plugged the wall but are also considered human beings they'd be dead already.

From what I could gather the military police wants them for experiments and for some reason instead of Erwin they want me to defend them.

"Don't worry Levi, we'll get them back." Hanji says as we made it to a large oak door.

"I hope so." With that I push the door open.

Eren and the other two were kneeling on the ground with chains around their wrists and ankles. They didn't look hurt luckily but they did look really annoyed. Once I made it five feet into the court Eren's head immediately turned to my direction, he gave me a small smile and I sent one back.

I went to my spot and greeted the judge as he entered. This is gonna be a pain.

"Today we are here to decide the fate of these three individuals before us. Would anyone like to start?" The Judge say taking a seat.

"I would your honor." The Soldier representing the Military Police chimes in. "The corpse of Petra Ral was found outside the scout headquarters."

My eyes widened at this information, why didn't anyone tell me this?!

"This has caused the military police to speculate about things I will state later in the trial."

"Condition of the body?" The Judge asked looking at documents.

"She was found with half her body bitten off."

"And what does this have to do with the three individuals before us?" The Judge says raising an eyebrow at the Soldier.

"She was found the same night they arrived." He states as I rub my temple trying to fight off the headache forming, I wasn't informed of any of this.

"What do the Scouts have to say about this?"

"With all due respect it couldn't have been them your honor." I say and the Judge raises his eyebrows slightly.

"State your case."

"Petra Ral was reported dead during the expedition and the body was not retrieved, therefore for them to have done this they would need access to the outside world which they do not." I stated.

"I see, for now we will put this aside. It's obvious they are not the cause, from the captain's report I can tell multiple people saw what happened to Miss Ral. I will have the military police look into how her body got on scout grounds." The Judge says fixing papers on his desk.

"Not to mention what Military Police were doing on Scout grounds without informing me of their arrival and the body." I say glaring daggers at the Soldier.

"I see... I might have to have someone else look into this matter." The Judge mutters.

"V-very well," The Solider says fidgeting. "I will now being up the speculations I talked about earlier."

Oh this will be good.

"Many say they saw those three exhibit extreme strength and speed, they moved a bolder ten times their size. The only creatures we know with these capabilities is titans, I'm sure you can see why the military police are concerned now." The Solider says as I scoff.

"Objection, such an abomination doesn't exist." I state blankly.

"Objection, yes it does. You yourself saw what they are capable of captain, these three are not human! They are monsters! Titans hiding in human skin!" He declared loudly, the court room buzzed with people either agreeing or saying he was insane.

"Order!! Order in my court!" The Judge exclaims, I kept my face blank but worry was eating at my skin.

People are often afriad of things they don't understand, and shifters are up there on the list of things they don't understand. I have to prove they aren't titans shifters. BUT HO- Wait a minute....

"Objection, you have no proof of this! Just because they have extreme strength and speed doesn't make them titans, not to mention how do you know about titan shifters?" I stated.

"Your report said that you encountered one." He said smirking. Suddenly a light went off in my head, this dude just made a big mistake.

"Military Police are not supposed to have access to Scout information, so how did you get your hands on my report." I said as his smirk fell.

"Indeed, what do you have to say for yourself?" The Judge asks glaring at the Solider.

"T-the higher ups gave it to me, I have no clue how they got it!" He exclaims.

"It seems there's another issue here... Commander Erwin." The Judge says turning to Erwin who stepped forward.

"Yes your honor?" Erwin says.

"Once this is over I want you to look into this matter along with the others stated in this trial, you might have a few spies in your regiment. This will not be taken lightly." The Judge says glaring the Soldier who looks away from the judge's gaze in shame.

"Now, we must figure something out now," The Judge says before pointing at the trio. "What are they?"

"Well we can confirm they are not titan shifters, if they were they would've attacked by now." I say glaring lazily at the Judge.

"Oh yeah? Then what are they then cause they aren't human?" The Military Police guy says smug as ever.

"Well..." I glance at Eren who gives me a slight nod of approval."They are Wolf Shifters... Werewolves as many call them."

With that the whole court room exploded with people talking, some even yelling.

"Order! Order in the court! Captain do you have proof of this?!" The Judge exclaims shocked himself.

"Yes I do, if one of you could demonstrate?" I say turning to the trio.

Without hesitation Mikasa snapped her chains off, many stared in horror. I don't blame them those were metal chains.

"Honestly, at least use chains that aren't rusting. Their so uncomfortable." She says dusting off her clothes. The court erupted in angry and scared voices.

Once she was done she quickly shifted frightening the whole court to silence, she walked over to me and sat in front of my podium.

"As you can see Wolf Shifters exist and these three are in fact Wolf Shifters." I say blankly, the Soldier glared at me in rage. He looks like he wants to rip my head off.

Not two seconds later, Eren and the other two growled loudly in his direction to get him to stop. Which was very effective might I add, he jumped back in fear shaking.

"They are Wolf Shifters, very well on to the next topic. Who will gain control over them?" The Judge says writing on another document.

"Your honor, it would be best if you give them to the Military Police. Once they are dissected and their organs are studied properly we can use what we get from them to help fight the titans." He says smirking as many people agree with him. I glance at Hanji who looks very confident, she knows we can win this.

Even if the whole court is against us, but she's hiding something. She has a Trump card and I think I'm about to see it.

"But you can't control them." Erwin's voice slices through the chaos. "Wolf Shifters have a very fast healing ability, you couldn't even bruise them far less dissect them."

The court was silent...

I get go of a breath I didn't even know I was holding, honestly those two never tell me shit these days!!

"Hmm, very well. Whoever can make that shifter bleed," He points at Eren and my heart sank, couldn't he have picked Armin! "Gains ownership of all three of the Shifters."

The Military Police guy walked up to Eren dripping confidence as he tried to seem intimidating, but Eren wasn't even fazed. He stared the dude right in eyes with a bored expression on his face.

"You have five chances, make them count." The Judge say sitting back in his chair, something tells me he's enjoying this.

He quickly punched Eren on the side of his head, Eren didn't even budge. One to his stomach, nothing. A kick to his side, nothing. Another kick to his stomach, not even flinching.

Frustrated he sends one final kick to Eren's neck, but as soon his foot connected to Eren's neck he recoiled screaming in pain. The court room gasped and stared wide eyed at Eren who glared forcefully at the Solider.

Suddenly something shiny caught my eyes, the same crystal I saw on Eren's arms was on his neck. Right where I marked him, the crystal quickly disappeared from sight before anyone else noticed.

"I forgot to mention, some parts of a Wolf Shifter's skin is really tough it will take a lot of force and strength to penetrate it." Erwin says serious as always, but I could almost sense that he was laughing maniacally at the soldier in his head.

I walked up to Eren who give me a small smile, this should be easy. Just punch him...

'You know damn well you can't.'

Great even my own conscious is against me. Just punch him! Get mad at him! Do something!

'Can you open your eyes for me Shortcake?'

That'll do.

I quickly punched his jaw and his head snapped to the side. I was shocked that I could actually do that, a large red mark appeared on his face but disappeared as soon as it came. I sent a kick straight to his head, a sharp intake of breath came from him but that's about it.

This is impossible! I stomp my foot on his head making him go face first into the floor, I get off him and lift his head up but he's completely fine. He stares me in the eyes and I stare back until...

'The mark Levi! Aim for the mark!'

Eren's voice rang in my head, as my eyes widened. Of course, why else would he protect there. I stand up and back up a little and then, roundhouse kicked him right in his neck exactly where the mark was.

Hundreds of purple, black, blue and red bruises appeared all over his blood as he coughed up blood. My hands immediately went to my mouth as I gasped in shock, Eren was shaking as some of the bruises started to fade only to reappear seconds later.

"It is official, the wolf shifters will go to the scouts. Court dismissed." With that the judge walked off and I ran to Eren's side to remove his chains.

"What?! Your not even gonna question the fact that with one kick the shifter has bruises all over his body?!" The Soldier exclaims in rage.

"Yes, that is odd but it just shows how much more they know about the shifters than you. We need to control them to make them the perfect fighting tool against the titans, and only those who are not ignorant about them can do so." The Judge says as that only fueled the Soldier's rage

"Bullshit!! Those two are lovers!" He says pointing at me and Eren. "I wouldn't be surprised if Captain Ackerman has already been turned into one of those freaks!"

"ENOUGH!" The Judge exclaims glaring at the Soldier who quickly regained his composer."I am the Judge, my word is final! If you dare to question my decision again I will have you demoted! Learn your place Soldier!"

"Yes sir."

With that the Judge walked away and we immediately started to get Eren out of here so we could tend to his injuries. But something crossed my mind, how did he know about me and Eren? I'll have some of the more trust worthy scouts look into this for me.

As Eren laid there on our bed I couldn't help but feel a constant feeling if guilt in my chest, I've only known him for about a month and he's already managed to worm his way into my heart. Maybe it was the mark? Or something else entirely.

I shouldn't love him as much as I do but I can't help it... But you only have one life, and with the titans you never know when your days will be cut in half.

"L-levi?" Eren says wincing as he sat up slightly. "Oh gods, that hurt."

I didn't say anything just stared at him, he stared back at me his eyebrows scrunched together confused at my lack of communication.

"What's wrong Levi?" Eren says reaching for my hand but I pull away causing the frown on his face to deepen.

"Eren I... I'm just confused, I understand the whole mate thing but I feel like we're moving to fast. I mean I've only known you for a month and yet it's like we've been married for decades!" I exclaim as Eren just stared at me with a sad expression.

"I know this is normal for you and feels normal for you but it's not like that for me! This... Love you have for me, it's one-sided!" Eren's face hardens at my words.

"So you don't have feeling for me?" Eren says as my eyes widen.

"N-no! I do like you it's just I feel like it's more lust than love, I just want for us to maybe... Take a step back, do this the human way." My heart throbbed as I felt Eren's sadness run through my body, he's not gonna agree with me.

"Okay."

"Wait what?" I say dumbfounded, I honestly thought he would say no or yell at me.

"I said Okay, as your mate it's my job to make sure your happy and if doing this will make you happy then so be it." He said with a smile but I could feel his disappointment and reluctance banging against my chest.

"Eren if you don't want-"

"No, I do especially if it will make you happy. So what do you humans do with your mates? Or I guess lovers?" He says forcing a smile.

"Well... I guess go on dates, hang out." I say as Eren stares at me looking very confused.

"Okay, I don't see a problem with that." He says.

"B-but, we can't have sex." His eyes widen. "Sex is something that comes later in a relationship"

"I see... Okay once I'm all healed we'll go out and have some fun, sound good?" He says smiling, I just smiled back and put my hand on his.

Finally something somewhat normal might be happening to me.
