KHUSHI

I woke up beside Arnav, he was still taking his nap, today he had another session with Dr. Roopa who was very impressed with his progress, according to her, he has started doing really well in a really short time span which was rare for cases like his, but it looked like staying away from his family is what he needed all along, and when that was done, half his problems were solved.

After more than four mouths of counselling, therapy and treatment, Arnav was doing more than great. Of course he wasn't perfectly well yet, he still needed to have his therapy with Dr. Roopa which was still going to take some time but the progress was good.

Seeing how well he was doing and everything, I didn't think I could wait any longer to pop the question, I mean getting married to him wasn't going to come in between his treatment so why not.

He was going to do way better once we were married and I thought it was the perfect time to ask him if he was ready to tie the knot.

I suddenly sat up realizing, it was Adi's engagement today, and I was still here lying on my bed when I should get ready and get going in case he needs help or something.

"Arnav." I shook him trying to wake him up.

"Yeah." He opened his eyes slightly to look at me.

"I'm going home, I need to get ready and leave for Adi's engagement, I'll see you there, I hope you're coming?"

"Yeah I will. See you later." He said as he went back to sleeping, such a sleepy head he was. Me I couldn't get back to sleeping after I was woken up.

Once I arrived home, I got dressed quickly and decided to head to Adi's place, Ananya was free too so she decided to come along.

On our way, I told her about my decision of getting married to Arnav, she still dint think it was right but as I explained Arnav's progress and everything to her, she did seem to agree with me.

I couldn't wait to ask him and see his reaction, it was going to be epic.

We arrived at Adi's place in no time, once the driver parked the car we both rushed out and headed inside his house, just to find a lot of people inside, working on decorations and arrangements and everything.

"Adi!" I called him out as soon as I saw him.

"Khushi! Thank God you're here. I was going insane trying to manage everything on my own." Adi rushed towards me and stopped din front of us.

"Wow you two look gorgeous."

"Thank." Ananya and I giggled.

"Where are your parents?"

"The car stopped working midway, they are on their way, I still need to get ready and nothing is done here, this engagement is going to be horrible."

"You should have called me idiot! What are friends for?" I slapped him on his arms.

"It dint cross my mind, you have no idea how glad I am that you showed up early. Now you'll handle everything, I'm going to get ready when I come back, everything better be perfect."

"You don't have to worry, it will be." I smiled, he hugged me happily as he walked away after instructing me about everything that was to be done, Ananya and I split the work in between ourselves and got to work.

Our work was all done on time, when Aditya came back after getting ready, he was really relaxed knowing we had handled everything, only if that idiot had called me earlier to come help him.

The guests had already arrived and even his fiancé to be and both the families were around, so he dint come to talk to us but he whispered a thank you to us as we both just stood in one corner and smiled at him.

"I can't wait for the day, Arnav and I would be getting married, it would be so magical. Oh My God, I sound like a teenager don't I?" I giggled and at that moment, I saw Arnav walk in dressed in his usual three piece suit.

Damn this boyfriend of mine, why was he so hot?

He walked towards Ananya and I as soon as he saw us, and for some reason I couldn't take my eyes off him, this man was beautiful inside out and I was in awe of him.

"Hey baby." He side hugged me.

"Guys, keep the PDA to minimum, I am still single and very jealous of you two." Ananya pouted.

"If you want, we can find you a boyfriend?" I suggested.

"Yeah, my friend Aman is single, do you want me to fix you two up?" Arnav smirked.

"No! I'll find a boyfriend on my own." She pouted.

"Don't worry, one day you will meet the right guy." I smiled as I hugged her tightly.

"Okay now I am jealous, how come I've never got one of those tight hugs?" Arnav asked.

"Okay you two stop acting like kids. Look the engagement has began." I said excitedly as we looked at Aditya and his fiancé to be stand opposite each other, they both looked so good together, I really hoped they were going to be happy with each other.

Aditya has always been such a great person and he deserved all the happiness in the world.

"Aww, the way they're looking at each other, it doesn't even look like an arranged marriage." Ananya said.

"I know, they look so cute together." I pouted as I looked at Arnav, how I wished I could be engaged to him, being here at Aditya's engagement was making me want to be engaged too.

The couple exchanged the rings and everyone clapped for them happily, Arnav and I just looked at each other and smiled while we clapped.

Coming here to this engagement just made me kind of really desperate or whatever you'd call it that I was ready to ask Arnav to marry me once we were out of here, like I just couldn't wait, I wanted for us to be official, to get married and live together forever.

Oh God! How beautiful the idea of living together forever sounded.

The three of us went to congratulate Aditya for the engagement and then had dinner together, later Ananya left early s she had to go out, she had some clubbing plans for the night so that just left me and Arnav, Ananya took my car so Arnav decided to drop me home once the engagement was over.

"Can we go somewhere else? I mean I don't want to go home right now, just anywhere where we can talk, I need to talk to you about something." I asked Arnav.

"Sure, there's something I've also been wanting to talk to you about." He smiled.

"Great then we can both talk." I said, we both got into the car and for a while we just kept wondering where to go, at the end, we decided to just park the car at a random road and we could just stand out, feel the air and talk about whatever we wanted to talk about.

I knew girls always had this fantasies of beautiful and huge proposals but I dint have any of those, and given that I was actually going to propose him for marriage I just decided to do it in a simple way, making it big would just attract attention we dint want at the moment.

We drove for a while, the both of us sitting beside each other silently as we held hands, I was nervously actually, it was scary to propose, I dint even know if Arnav was ready to get married or not, I really hoped he was.

The driver stopped the car in the middle of a random road, it wasn't that late at night but the road was somehow just empty, Arnav and I stepped out as we leaned against the car and just felt the fresh air for a while.

"So what did you want to talk to me about?" I asked.

"You go first, you said there was something you wanted to talk about."

"No you first."

"No, you first." And we both ended up laughing.

"Okay how about we say it together?" I suggested, he seemed to think for a moment but then he agreed any way.

"Okay on the count of three." I said as I turned to look at him nervously, the moment was here, I dint even know what he was going to say, but I knew what I was going to, and it was high time I said it.

"One... Two... Three... Go!"

"Will you marry me?" We both said together, the funniest part was that we both went down on our knees together at the same time. Who said this wasn't a special proposal? Like the both of us thinking about the same exact thing at the same time and even proposing each other together. It had to be the most beautiful proposal ever.

I guess if would have happened differently, if it wasn't for Aditya's engagement, attending it and just watching him get engaged was so beautiful it made us want it too.

The best part was that, it dint come out of nowhere, we both were thinking of it for a while now.
