KHUSHI

Today, I felt like the happiest person on earth, all my life I had yearned for love, I had dated a lot of men trying to find love but it never seemed to happen and a part of me always thought that maybe I wasn't capable of love, but now that it had finally happened, I couldn't wait to tell it out to the whole world.

I couldn't wait to tell Ananya that she was right, that I finally fell in love with Arnav, I couldn't wait to tell her that I confessed my feelings to Arnav and my world just felt so damn good.

Because she was at work and I was impatient, I called her and informed her over the phone call, she was so happy for me, I was happy for me too and I was glad that Adi somehow helped me realize my feelings, I couldn't wait to meet him at dinner and thank him for it.

I made sure the servants cooked all of Adi's favorite dishes, it was the least I could do to thank him for what he did for me.

I sat in the hall waiting for him impatiently, I just wanted to really thank him and because I was so impatient, I kept on looking at my watch every now and then hoping he would arrive anytime soon.

After a long wait, I finally heard the door bell, I rushed to open the door myself and there he was, standing in front of me smiling.

"Adi! Thank you, thank you so much." I jumped on him and hugged him tightly, he laughed when I hugged him but dint ask any questions.

Once I broke the hug, he looked at me with a huge smile.

"I guess confessing your feelings to Arnav went well." He said.

"Yes, more than well. It was so beautiful and romantic, jeez I'm blushing." I giggled as I covered my face with my palms making him laugh again.

"Look at me, I'm so much into my world I even forgot to invite you in, come in." I moved aside and let him walk in. You know the happiness you feel when you are in love, the one that just comes from within, I was feeling all that.

I wanted to listen to all those romantic love songs, I wanted to feel each and every line of the songs deeply, I wanted to sing them to Arnav, I wanted to tell him how happy he made me, I think I was going crazy.

"All this time I've known you, I've never seen you this happy." Adi said as he stared at me, he was right, I had never been this happy before.

"I know. It's Arnav, just being with him makes me so happy, his love makes me happy, the way he loves me, no one else can ever love me like that Adi. I feel so special and so lucky." I smiled.

"I can see that." He smiled back.

"Anyway let's have dinner then we can discuss the project? Enough of Arnav and me." I laughed, he nodded as he followed me to the dining table, we both settled down and the servants walked with the food and placed it on the table.

I wanted Ananya to be here too but today she had a late shoot so she wasn't going to come home early.

"Wow, why is all the food here of my choice?" Adi asked as he looked at all the dishes.

"Because I thought I'd say thank you to you this way for making me realize my feelings for Arnav." I said

"We are friends Khushi, you don't have to thank me for anything."

"I know, it's just that what you did was a big thing, both for you and for me. I mean we dated and then we broke up and I knew what you felt for me, but you dint let any of that come in between this, despite it all you told me what I felt for Arnav and I think you deserve a thank you for that."

"You are welcome then." He smiled.

"So tell me about the project, what company is it?" I asked.

"It's a huge company, but neither of us have worked with them before, it's actually not Indian but they are launching their collections here and they wanted us to model for them. It's actually a good offer.

I did some research on them, let's finish dinner then I can show you the documents and then you can make your decision."

"You must have made your decision right? What do you think about it."

"It's great for me, so I think I'm going to do it, if you like it then the both of us can go meet them and discuss the contract and payment."

"If you like it, I'm sure I'm going to like it." I smiled. We both continued eating, once we were done, we sat down together as he showed me his research and everything looked good just like he said.

I dint have much work right now so I guess I was going to do this, if the payment was according to my standards then I guess I had no objection with it.

"You are right, this looks promising, you can tell me we would like to meet and then decide the rest?"

"Sure, I knew you would like it." Aditya said excitedly.

"Plus we would work together after so long, it's going to be great." I said.

"I know, I think the first and the last time we worked together was for the shoot where we first met and then started dating."

"Yeah." I sighed.

I woke up quite late, last night Adi and I stayed up till late talking about a lot of stuff, it was great how nothing between us was awkward despite everything that had happened.

Anyway I dint have much to do today, Adi said he would call me once he gets our meeting fixed so I decided to visit Arnav in his office today and talk to him about this.

I wouldn't do it if it was just a new project I was taking, but because Adi was involved and we both had history, I thought it was better if he knew.

I dint want anything to ever come in between us so I was going to make sure I always did the right thing, and right now the right thing was to inform him about this.

At least I had known Arnav that much to know that he would never object any of my decision nor force me to do something he wanted, even if he dint like me and Adi working together, he would never tell me not to work with him.

So as his girlfriend, it was my duty to at least inform him about it, otherwise I knew he could get very mad about it.

I took a quick shower and got ready, I hoped to find Ananya home as she was working late last night but she seemed to have left early today too.

This girl was overworking herself wasn't she?

I headed outside to the parking lot where the driver was waiting for me, I got into the car and he drove me to the AR office.

I couldn't wait to meet Arnav, yesterday after we both confessed our feelings to each other and then I left, we hadn't even spoken, he actually went to a meeting right after and seemed to have been entirely busy after that.

I walked to his cabin just to find it empty, which meant he hadn't arrived yet.

"Looking for Arnav?" I heard Aman, I turned around and saw him walking towards me.

"Yeah." I said.

"I think he must be on his way, you should sit in his cabin and wait for him, shall I get something for you to drink?"

"Coffee would be fine, thanks." I smiled as I headed to Arnav's cabin to wait for him. I sat there looking at my phone and scrolling on social media when someone put their hand on my eyes.

"Arnav." I guess, I just knew his touch, and from the feel of it, I knew it was him.

"Good morning baby." He smiled as he bent down and kissed me on the forehead, I don't know why but that made me blush. I wasn't the kind of a person to blush so often but he was making me blush a lot lately.

"Good morning." I smiled.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of seeing your beautiful face early morning?" He asked as he settled down on his chair.

"I thought I'd come pay the love of my life a visit since he seems really busy." I giggled.

"I see someone is getting romantic." He smirked as he moved forward and grabbed my hand into his.

"I came to talk to you regarding something." I said.

"I'm all ears."

"So there's a new project I think I'm going to sign, I haven't met the clients yet, but if things work out my way, I might sign it." I said.

"Khushi, it's your work, whatever project you sign, you don't need to tell me about it, maybe unless you are confused and you need some advice." He smiled.

You see, this was the reason why I loved this man. He was just... so perfect!

"I know, but I thought it was important to tell you because I would be working on it with Adi. He is my ex-boyfriend so I thought you should know about it." When I mentioned Adi's name, I felt the grip he had on my hand tighten, but there were no expressions at all on his face that could tell me what he was thinking.

He was silent for a few minutes and I was kind of scared, what if he was going to get mad? I dint want him to get mad. He smiled suddenly and held my other hand.

"I'm glad you found it important to inform me. Now that I know, you should go ahead with your decision, do it if you like it or don't. I am no one to tell. I just appreciate you informing me about who you'll be working with." He smiled.

Please God. Give every girl out there a man like Arnav, he was so understand, so loving, so great. Just the perfect man ever.

I stood up and walked towards him, he pushed his chair slightly backwards, I sat on his laps facing him.

"You see, this is why I love you so much, you are just so different." I said as I bent down and kissed him on the lips.
