KHUSHI

I woke up next to Arnav, he was deep asleep like a baby, I took a moment just staring at him and admiring how good he looked when the sunlight fell on his face making him glow. I felt like eating him, if that was possible, and then I ended up smiling at my own stupid thoughts.

As I kept on staring at my dear husband, I suddenly felt nauseous, I knew I was going to vomit so I stood up and rushed inside the washroom in a hurry.

"Babe you okay?" I heard Arnav's voice. Seriously he had been the most caring husband, anytime something would happen to me, he would just know.

Like right now, he was deep asleep and the moment I rushed inside the washroom, he knew something was wrong, how did he do that? And how was I lucky to find a man like him?

"Yeah, I'm good." I shouted back as I walked towards the cabinet and got out the test kit. I had been late but I dint really bother much, my periods were always late, but given that I had never been this late, I decided to take the test.

Once I was done, I walked out of the washroom and sat down beside Arnav, he looked at me worriedly and cupped my face.

"You sure you're okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, I just felt nausea and then I took the pregnancy test." I said nervously, I dint really look at the results, I dint know what I was expecting so I decided we could look at it together.

"And?" He looked at me curiously.

"I dint look, I thought we should check the results together." I said.

"Okay, I'm ready whenever you are." He smiled as he sat up straight, I looked at him nervously, it wasn't like I dint want kids or anything, we had been actually planning for it for a couple of months now, but now that there was a possibility of things going right, I was kind of nervous.

I opened up my fist and Arnav and I both looked at the result, the next moment he was out of bed dancing happily.

"Oh My God Khushi! We're pregnant. We're going to have a baby." He rushed back towards me, grabbed my hand and pulled me up as he twirled me around making me laugh, it took a while for the news to sink in, but this is actually what I wanted.

Everything in life was going great currently and this was something that just made it perfect, I couldn't believe that I was going to be a mom soon.

"Thank you baby, you have no idea what this mean to me. We're going to be parents, can you believe it? You know the day we got married, I thought that was the only happiest day of my life, but you just gave me another happy day. You've given me so much happiness I don't even know how to thank you." He pouted and in no time tears were rolling down his eyes.

It was very rare to see Arnav cry, but right now he was, that was how happy he was about this.

"Aww, look at you." I smiled as I cupped his face and moved forward kissing him on the forehead.

"There are going to be happier days in front of us Arnav, I am just pregnant and you're like this, imagine when the baby is actually born." I giggled.

"I will be the happiest person on earth." He laughed as he pulled me into a tight hug.

I headed out in the hall once I was done taking shower and getting dressed, as I walked out of my room, there was this food scent all over the house, it was making me really hungry.

I saw Arnav walk out of the kitchen smiling brightly, he stopped in front of my smiled and then grabbed my hand as he pulled me along, we headed out of the house and to the garden outside the mansion, there was a table set up.

"Sit here, we're having breakfast outside." he said as he pulled out a chair for me, I nodded as I settled down and then he sat opposite me and soon the servants walked with our food, I couldn't stop wondering what it was the smelled so delicious.

"I thought I'll make something for you, I mean you gave me such great news, this is the least I could do." He smiled. Once the food was all placed on the table, he grabbed a plate and started serving me, and we were interrupted by Ishani, Aman and Ananya.

"Good morning love birds." They smiled at us as they joined us at the table, that's when I realized that Arnav had set up extra chairs, did he know they were coming? Or did he call them?

"Wow, what are you guys doing here early morning?" I asked.

"Well Arnav gave me a call as said we should come for breakfast so here we are." Aman smiled, they all sat down.

After Arnav and I got married, Ananya did live with us for a while, and then things between her and Aman got pretty serious so she decided to move in with him. Ishani still lived with them as a paying guest.

"So, what's the occasion? Why the sudden breakfast invitation?" Ishani asked as she looked at Arnav curiously.

"We have some good news. Sorry baby I dint discuss it with you and I know it's too soon to tell but I can't stop myself." Arnav looked at me nervously, I just smiled, I mean of course I too wanted to tell Ananya, it was too soon but not too soon to tell our best friends right?

"Wow, I'm excited, what is it Khushi?" Ananya looked at me curiously.

"I'm pregnant." I blushed, Ananya looked at me with her eyes wide open for a moment and then she pulled me into a tight hug excitedly.

"Oh My God guys! This is like the best news ever." She said happily.

"Congratulations you two, you're stepping into a new chapter of your life." Ishani said.

"Wow dude, congrats." Aman hi fived Arnav.

"Well I was waiting for this good news right after you got married, you two just dint seem to be keeping hands off each other." Ananya teased.

"Same here, imagine it took them three years to finally give us the good news." Ishani laughed.

"We just needed to be ready." I smiled.

"Yeah, now we're waiting for you guys to give us good news, Aman when are you two getting hitched? And Ishani have you met someone new or not yet?" Arnav asked.

"Well not anytime soon, Ananya is doing great in her career for now, I just want her to have enough of it and then I'll pop the question." Arnav smirked.

"Yeah I mean we're basically living together, there's not much difference." Ananya said.

And then we all looked at Ishani wait for her to say something but she just laughed.

"Okay fine... I met someone. At first I was scared, given the experience with Ayush, I just dint want any relationship, but he was quite convincing so we went on a few dates and stuff.

He's different... he's so trusting and understanding, I don't feel suffocated at all, he gives me my space, he never tells me what to do and how to behave. I mean when I started going out with him, I used to be so scared, every time my phone would ring I would get scared, I would always asked him permission for things... you know that's how it was with Ayush.

And then he told me I don't have to ask him for anything, I should just do the things I like, all he wanted was for me to trust him and him to trust me, a promise of never breaking each other's trust.

You know with Ayush it was always so suffocating so after we got divorced, I dint want to ever get into any other relationship, because that's what it looked like. But he is so different and he made me realize that I can be happy in a relationship too, not every man out there is like Ayush." Ishani smiled.

I was happy for her, she really did the right thing leaving Ayush, and I was glad she had finally met someone right, not a man who thought he owned her.

"We're all happy for you Ishani, you should bring him for dinner sometime, we would love to meet him." I said to her, she nodded happily and then turned to look at Arnav.

"Are you waiting for my approval?" Arnav smirked.

"No, I just want to know what you feel about it." She looked at him nervously.

"I am happy for you Ishani. We all knew my family wasn't that great with you, they haven't been with me either. They haven't even contacted me or anything in the past few years and I guess we both should just move on from them." Arnav said.

"He is right." Aman said.

"So are you going to tell them about the baby or?" Ishani asked.

"No. I've moved on from that life, it was difficult but with time I accepted it. I loved them all more than anything and the least they had to do was just to be happy for me, but they dint even attend my wedding, they dint even call after it, they dint try to contact me either so I just let them go.

I don't think they deserve to know about the baby, they dint do anything worth enough to be told about it and I doubt they would care." Arnav said.

"It's okay baby." I looked at him.

"Yeah, we're with you and we are happy for you." Aman assured him.

"Okay, let's have breakfast now. I made all this for my beautiful wife who has made me the happiest man today." Arnav looked at me and smiled and then winked making me giggle.

After breakfast, Arnav took us out, we all went for a movie, after the movie everyone else went on their own and Arnav took me for some shopping, and to get manicure and pedicure and I even got my hair done, he just pampered me so much, I felt so happy.

We arrived back home after having dinner outside so we headed straight to our room, freshened up and lied down on the bed together.

I rested my head on his arm as he stared at me silently for ages.

"Would you say something?" I laughed at the way he was continuously staring at me.

"I just have to say I love you so much and you mean the whole world to me and thank you for the good news." He smiled as he tucked my hair behind my ears and continued staring at me.

"I love you too baby, but are you sure you'll still look at me this way when I put on some weight and stuff?"

"Of course, I'll always love you." She smiled as he moved closer and kissed me, his kiss was filled with so much love, I mean just the way his lips moved on mine, he was working some sort of magic, it just made me know how much he loved me, and that was enough for me.
