(Y/N) POV

Both me and Neo added all of our money up from 2 weeks of work. At face value, I made more money than she did, but she also was able to receive tips so it balances out nicely.

Both of us have also been watching carefully where our money is going, most of it is food....actually all of it is. We still live in the abandoned house...but that's about to change

"This should be enough to rent a small room," I say smiling as her face just lights up.

Finally! No more long and cold nights!

Her face blushes as she thinks about it more

"Yea," I mutter smiling. Just seeing her face light up like that makes me happy

"Ok, let's do it," I say as she nods.

We travel to a place I found a week ago.

It was a small apartment, it only had 1 room, a bathroom and a kitchen, but that's more than enough. And the price was right too, we just needed extra money to actually start living here.

I handled the interactions with the spokesperson and after a while, we were left to our new home alone...only me and her

Neo naturally looked at everything with sparkles in her eyes

I'm so happy! Look there's a shower!

I laugh at her childlike behaviour....then I remember we are children.

I look in my wallet to see all the money we saved in two weeks gone. It was hard watching all that go away, but it was needed...at least we aren't trespassing anymore

Where is the bed?

"We need to buy our own," I say as she looks disappointed

"Don't worry, I'm sure we can afford one with a little saving," I say as she smiles again and gives me a thumbs up.

The first night was much better than what we're used to. Neo used my coat as a blanket, it was normal at this point. I laid beside her uncovered as I was too warm to snuggle with her.

I eventually fell asleep and the grind continued. Work, eat, sleep. Work, eat, sleep.  It goes on and on.

"We should have enough for you," I say as Neo looks at me curiously.

What do you mean?

"Clothes, you can't be wearing rags all the time," I say as she looks down

It isn't that bad

"Bad enough," I say as I practically drag her out of the house

"To the store we go!" I announce as she tries to stay home

"We will also be getting a bed," I say as she starts going with the plan. We reach the clothing store as Neo looks through the clothing

"This looks cute," I say as I snag a pink umbrella. She looks at it for a bit before grabbing it

"You like it?" I ask her as she nods

"Ok, I'll pay then, after you grab some clothes of course," I say as I remind her to continue picking out outfits.

Once she was finished, I paid up and we returned to the house

She covered her mouth as we enter the house

The bed! You forgot the bed!

"No, we are going out again," I say as she nods...and we did.

I went to a place where we would buy beds...I was shocked by how expensive it was.

"Wow, these aren't cheap," I mutter as Neo agrees

After extensive searching...and telling Neo not to jump on things. We settled for the cheapest one...and man was it a struggle to carry it home. The salesman offered that a company could install it into my house for an extra cost...we declined.

Finally, after many spots for breaks, we returned home and laid the bed in the room.

Neo let her self lay down on the bed as soon as it was positioned right

She looked at me as she signed me to read her mind

So soft!

I chuckle at her happy expressions as she rolls in the bed.

Another thing that's happened is we stopped buying ready-made meals, and we started making our own...its cheaper

I took up the cooking and Neo agreed to the cleaning chores.

Neo looked at me as I focus on her eyes

Where are we going to put the clothes?

"Oh, yes, I think we have a closest," I say as I open a door that leads into a tiny closet.

"We don't have anything to put them in, so until we do they can probably hang out on the floor until we can find something," I say as she nods

What about you? We only got clothes for me

"Don't worry, I plan on buying some coveralls for work, it should help keep my clothes clean, I'll also pick up some clothing when we have the money to spare," I say as she nods

I prepared dinner and as soon as we finished we went to bed.

"Are you sure your fine with us sharing a bed?" I ask as she nods excitedly

We have always slept together, why should it change with a bed?

"I guess so," I mutter as I lift the blankets and shuffled in. Along with the bed, we also bought sheets and blankets.

The bed itself wasn't very big, but due to our small size, we fit in just fine. Once again, I often forget we are only kids, it seems like we are older.

Throughout the night, Neo went from touching my arm with her shoulder....to hugging it completely.

Morning arrived and we went on with our normal schedule.

I was hauling around equipment when someone stopped me

I'll get this kid to do it

"Hey bud, can you fetch a paper from the office? I forgot it and I'm too busy to grab it," he says as I nod

"Yea I can," I say as he smiles and I go on my way.

I've never been in the office before, but the guy who asked gave me very specific details so it was easy to find.

As I was about to leave someone approached me. He had orange hair and a top hat.

"Who do we have here?" He asks, looks like a kid....ahhhh idea!!!! Perfect Idea!!!

"An Idea?" I asked suddenly as he looks at me confused

"Did you read my mind?" He says as I knew I just messed up....damn it

"No, no, you just had that look about you," I say nervously as he doesn't buy it

"Are you a mind reader?" He says as I go pale

"No, no, I'm not," I say trying to cover up. He just smiles, I'll put this kid to good use

"Listen, I'll make you an offer, you'll make way more money than you usually do...and it will be relatively low risk," he says as I read his mind...it true, what he is saying is true

"Ok," I say as he smiles

"I'm (Y/N), what's your name?" I ask as he smiles
