Brotherhood Gone
Creed was well prepared mentally and physically for Onyx's reaction. He honestly asked himself, if Song was wrong for throwing a knife in the woman's back. Every angle he looked at the situation, he felt like she made the best decision. The woman is in critical condition, not because of her wounds, but due to blood loss. Her wounds looked like they were healing by the time they got her to a hospital. Kai lied for them, telling the nurses that they found them lying in the street after the Shadows left for the night. Hearing that, no one really asked too many questions. Thinking this, the journey to Onyx's house went rather quickly.
He knocked on the door and was greeting by Onyx huffing, "What?"
"It's an emergency, open up."
When the door opened, Creed could see sleep all over his face along with dismay. Onyx with his black shorts and no shirt, angrily let Creed in, before plopping on the couch.
"Onyx, I need you to hear me out with the greatest of reason." Creed started.
"What now?" He grumbled.
"Your mother is in the hospital, she is in critical condition because she lost a lot of blood."
Onyx stood up slowly, "Creed, what happened?" He slowly walked towards him, his voice was low, but angry.
"She attacked Song at her house and wounded her father. Her and Song fought before her dad intervened. She had a dagger laced with Shadow dust, and she's stealing Shadowhunter weapons," Creed replied calmly. "Song used her mother's throwing knives, which are Shadowhunter weapons, and stabbed her during the attack. But it also released her from the Shadows hold. So, when she wakes up, she should be her normal self."
"If she wakes up!" Onyx yelled before pushing Creed into the wall. Onyx was furious.
Creed pushed Onyx away from him. Onyx turned his back to him. "Onyx try to understand the situation-"
"No, you don't understand the situation! You don't have anyone, you don't have a family. You're a loner and no one loves you. If you die tomorrow, no one will care! My mother's nearing the doors of death, everything I've done was to protect and preserve my family and their legacy. And if she loses her life, was it okay because your cute little Song did it?!"
Creed was taken aback, was a little surprised that Onyx would go so low. "You're right. You're absolutely right. I don't have a family, I never knew my mother and I lost my father young. I thought you loved me, like a brother, but I was wrong. I know that I don't always understand family, but I understand people. At least, I'm not riding on the name someone else made, while trying to have a second life, only to be dragged back to reality! I have had to work hard for everything, and I've made a name for myself, by my damn self! Don't forget, that you would be stuck in the tunnels every single day, if it wasn't for me telling the SSS leader, that I could hunt without you. I gave you freedom, because I loved you like a brother. But forget that. And for your information, Song stabbed your mother, so your mother wouldn't kill her father or turn him to the Shadows. So if she had killed her dad it would have been okay because she's your mother? That's what you're saying right?" Creed didn't give Onyx a chance to answer, he walked out the door and slammed it behind him, making the whole house shake.
Onyx sat on the couch and held his head in his hands, he didn't really mean those awful things he said to Creed, he was so mad that another side of himself took over. When he looked up, he saw Zuri standing in front of him. She gently sat beside him. They didn't say a word, he reached out his hand and she accepted it. They sat there in silence, as minutes flew by.
"You know that Creed has always looked out for you, and he would never hurt you," she whispered.
"I know, that's why I feel guilty about coming off on him. I don't feel bad, but I do feel guilty. I'm still mad, I'm mad as hell, but Creed didn't deserve what I said," Onyx replied.
"Then tell him that," she suggested.
"I-I don't know if he will even talk to me again. That look in his eyes, and Creed is a man of his word. When he says he's done, he's done. And I think he's done with me. But I do need to see my mother, because it may be the last time." His eyes got glassy when he thought that he would lose her. How would Aura feel, to never see their mother again. He struggles to manage his life and duties, and then to raise a child too. The thought was starting to make his head spin.
"Whatever happens, I'm here. I know that you're juggling a lot, a kid, your life, Guardianship. I get it, so let me help you."
Onyx stood up, "Thank you, I appreciate your support. You've been helping me a lot, and it means everything to me." She stood up and gently touched his cheek.
"Well, I'm going back to sleep," she told him as she began to walk away.
"I'm going to the hospital," he replied as he headed for the door. Onyx needed to see his mother. And if he could make things right with Creed, he would, but knowing Creed too well, that would not be easy.

When Creed returned to the hospital, Song had good news, her dad would be released around noon. She was about to approach him, but the look on his face was unapproachable. She knew immediately that things did not go well with Onyx. But she had never seen Creed look so angry before. When he noticed her in the hall he tried to smile, but she could tell it was forced. He was about to enter the room, but she stopped him. With one hand on his chest, "What happened?"
"Nothing," he replied, looking her dead in the eye. She put both hands on his chest, then he sighed, "I'm just too angry to talk about it."
"Alright, well my dad is sleep, but he will be released at noon."
"That's great news," he grabbed her wrists and kissed her hands. "If it's cool, can I go back to your house. I just need to get some sleep to shake this anger off."
"Alright, that's fine, my house is yours." She replied.
Creed smiled, "That's funny, your dad said the same thing to me not too long ago. Well, I'll get going, see you when you get home."
"I won't be too long," she replied as Creed began walking away. No much longer than the moment he walked out of her sight, Song Valor needed in Room 170, was heard over the intercom.
Song raised her eyebrow, she was puzzled. Room 170, her father wasn't in that room. Who was in Room 170 that would want to see her. No one else, knows that she's here, do they?
