[Chapter 31]: Games
Midoriya POV
"I can't believe he would do that to you, Mineta. I'm so sorry...I should've done more that day, I won't let him get away with any of this." I spoke softly, watching the last bit of tears stream down Mineta's cheeks.
If Kirishima would go as far as hurting his peers and also threatening them into keeping quiet, I do not doubt in my mind that he could be the UA traitor.
But why?
Why would Kirishima set up the USJ attack? and why would he possibly carry out an attack on Bakugou and Y/N...his best friends?
"Do you know why he did it?" I asked quietly, chewing on the inside of my cheek as I double-checked the empty bathroom to be sure no one was listening.
"I barely remember what happened, I just...I just know he had b-blood on his....hands after he struck me in the...face. He kept telling me he didn't do anything and...and that some kid with purple hair did it. I don't even know a kid with purple hair besides myself." Mineta responded at a pained whisper.
"Hmmm...do you remember what happened before that though..? Like how did you get into the restroom in the first place?" I spoke gently, leaning against the wall.
He's missing a big chunk of what happened that day. I know trauma can cause people to forget vital details in situations, but he can't even remember what happened before the event.
"I-I don't really remember...I rode the train to school, and I remember walking down the hall....and......and...." He paused with a sharp inhale.
"What is it...?" I uttered quickly, my eyes sparking with curiosity.
"I....vaguely remember getting in an argument with someone, I think it was Kirishima....it had to of been...right?" He continued, a hint of confusion lacing his voice as he scratched the top of his head.
"It was most likely him...unless somehow, this purple-haired kid that he was talking about, actually did what he is claiming he did...This is all so complicated, we won't really get answers unless we talk to them directly..." I muttered to myself softly, before turning to the boy who even I towered over.
"Class is about to start though. I promise we'll get to the bottom of this, we just need to be careful about how we approach everything. I don't know how empty Kirishima's threats are, and if he is indeed the traitor, he is dangerous. Going against his orders could cause more bad than good. But I promise, as long as I am here I won't let anything happen to you or any of our classmates." I smiled softly, motioning towards the exit of the restroom.
"Thank you Midoriya..."
Y/N POV
"Wh-Whats going on!!" Uraraka's voice boomed from the class door. My eyes glued to her instantly. She stood motionless, directly in front of an enormous group of whispering kids blocking our exit.
Everyone else attempting to leave also began protesting when the group did not waiver.
I adjusted the straps on my backpack, with a scoff. Seconds later I shot Katsuki a side glare as his hand unlocked with mine and returned into his pockets as he marched towards the crowd trying a little too hard to look intimidating.
"We can't get out! What did you come here for anyway?" Mineta Protested, silencing once Katsuki passed him by.
"Scouting out the enemy, small fry." He simply stated, not even hesitating to meet the group head-on.
As Katsuki began to ramble on about our class, I quickly made my way to his side in hopes of calming his attitude. So far from what I'm seeing he had managed to intimidate the group a little.
"Out of my way extras..." Katsuki spat once I arrived at his side, causing our class behind us to panic as he flinched from the rough elbow he received in the side from me.
"Calm your tits King Explosion Murderer, you're gonna give us a bad rep," I whisper screamed, receiving a scoff from the boy before intertwining our hands once again.
"Oh, shit..." I gasped under my breath, yanking my hand out of Katsuki's grasp quickly once a familiar voice, and head of violet easily surfed its way through the crowd.
"I came to see what the famous Class A was about...but you seem pretty arrogant," Hitoshi spoke as he came face to face with Katsuki and I, giving us both a head nod. I felt the ash-blond stiffen beside me.
"What do you want bedhead?" I mocked, snickering at Hitoshi's attempt to come off intimidating.
He simply smirked, leaning down to my ear whispering a simple "It's time to show them all." Before returning his tired glare to the 1-A kids... Through the corner of my eye, I watched Katsuki's irritation visibly rise.
I don't understand why those two hate each other so much...
"There are quite a few people who enrolled in General Studies, or other courses because they didn't make it into the hero course...Did you know that?" He spoke calmly with a hand on the back of his neck, not once breaking eye contact with Katsuki's scarlet glare.
"Depending on the results of the sports festival, they'll consider our transfer into the hero course...And it seems they may transfer people out." He continued, turning his violet eyes on the successfully intimidated class. I just stood quietly, holding back from stealing his thunder.
Hitoshi POV
"I came with a declaration of war," I spoke out to the class, causing Y/N to snicker quietly as the class let out a simultaneous panicked gasp. Seconds later my eyes locked with Bakugou's cold glare.
And little does the prick know, Y/N has already fallen for me. So I've already won, I don't have to worry about him anymore as long as he doesn't hurt her again. Once we officially get together, Bakugou will finally back off.
A small smirk pulled at my lips before I was interrupted by another explosive idiot, screaming a ton of nonsense.
Bakugou simply huffed and bumped right past me, not sparing another glance.
"Wait Bakugou, what are w-we going to do about all of this." His red-headed friend desperately shouted to him, scanning his worried eyes from me to him.
What is he talking about?
"It doesn't matter, as long as we win these....games," Bakugou spoke gruffly, causing my glare to darken as we both peered deep into each other's eyes with a glint of challenge. I furrowed my brows as his red-headed friend also followed, sending me a side glare on the way out. I returned my gaze to the wide-eyed class once more, before being pulled into the hallway by Y/N.
Y/N POV
"A declaration of war Toshi...what, is a titan gonna come busting through the damn floor right now or what?" I teased, quirking a brow as I gently nudged the insomniac in the side.
"I wouldn't be surprised, to be honest, there are some real freaks in the hero course." Hitoshi teased back, ruffling my hair playfully.
"Hey! I'm not a freak. If anyone is a freak, it's you Insomnia!" I pointed a dramatic finger at Hitoshi, receiving a small chuckle in return.
"Whatever you say Fire-Girl...Hey when school lets outcome over to the training gym, I want to show you what I've been working on these couple of weeks." Hitoshi spoke, playfully wiggling his brows.
"Alright bet..."
---------------
Bakugou POV
"Why would she just stop holding hands with me when that bastard is around," I spoke to Kirishima as we stood above a small building in the training gym.
"I don't know dude, maybe she is scared of him or something...There is no way he's done all of this shit and he hasn't at least threatened her too. If he is the UA traitor,
Y/N has to know something....he might be just keeping her quiet." Kirishima spoke, tapping his chin slowly as he peered down at the ground below the building.
"That's the thing...I didn't tell you this, b-but..." I paused, taking a deep breath. The red head's eyes widened once he made eye contact with me.
"What did he do...?"
"I-In the...in the hospital I walked in on him...he....he assaulted Y/N with his quirk...and....a-and he threatened my family and my position at school to keep quiet."
"What the hell Bakugou, why didn't you report it?" Kirishima scolded me.
"Dammit...I fucking tried...I tried to tell her...I tried. B-But...no....no you're right, why didn't I report it? I let that piece of shit intimidate me. He fucking did it, I don't even deserve to be with Y/N. How could I? I haven't told her that her childhood friend assaulted her in front of me....right in front of my fucking eyes and I acted like nothing happened. I'm just as fucking bad as Hitoshi...I'm going to write a report, I can't be selfish. I know it will hurt Y/N seeing Hitoshi go down, she may never talk to me again....but it's what's best...he's dangerous."
---------------
Y/N POV
"DAMN...Bedhead you're dangerous now what the hell!" I boomed with wide eyes as I watched Hitoshi swing through the trees with his Aizawa scarf, skillfully landing in front of me and lowering his new black mask to his chest.
"With these upgrades, I bet I can even beat you now." Hitoshi teased, taking a seat on the P.E ground.
"Ha...you haven't even seen what progress I've made yet bedhead," I smirked, staring down at the violet-haired Aizawa boy.
"Show me then...." He responded placing his full attention on me. A bit of nervousness sparked inside of me before I remembered Todoroki's words.
"Once you trust yourself, it will become automatic."
I let out a breath, removing both of my gloves.
"Oh, shit....Y/N..." Hitoshi whispered, a huge smile beginning to pull at his lips.
"Don't get too excited yet..." I huffed, swallowing thickly as I made my way over to a tree.
Regulate the heat.
I repeated this to myself as I shut my eyes. Once I felt the warmth evenly spread throughout my body, I placed my hands against the wooden bark of the tree.
"Good job Cricket." A gruff voice spoke from behind me. I turned to face Mr. Aizawa with wide eyes. He stood behind Hitoshi, they practically looked like carbon copies of each other.
"Now...I want to see you two spar." Aizawa continued as he nudged Hitoshi towards me.
"Wait uh I don't-" I started, slightly backing up from the pair.
"Don't worry you won't burn anyone on my watch." He spoke as that same creepy smile graced his features again.
"I guess then..." I groaned, taking my fighting stance against my childhood friend.
"Good luck Y/N," Hitoshi spoke mockingly, receiving an eye roll from me.
"The first one to become immobilized loses...ready....go," Aizawa announced.
Not giving Hitoshi any time to think I charged forward, preparing for a roundhouse kick. I honestly thought I would've caught him off guard as I've always done in the past, but he quickly evaded the attack, rolling to the side and pulling his mask up.
Not bad Shinsou
"Hey, do you want to take a break Y/N?" Aizawa's voice sounded out, causing my brows to furrow.
"What...we just st-" I started before everything went fuzzy.
Damn...he got me, I guess the mask wasn't just for show.
Seconds later I gained full consciousness, Hitoshi already had me wrapped in his new scarf, completely immobilized.
"Wow...that was amazing Toshi, you're going to do great tomorrow, I'm so excited for you!" I boomed, shooting the violet-haired teen a huge smile.
"Thank you, I really hope so," Hitoshi responded with a rub of his neck, promptly undoing his restraints.
"Mr. Aizawa...you taught him well...I really fell for that voice changer." I chuckled as Mr. Aizawa shrugged. I quickly rubbed the back of my neck before plopping down on the P.E ground.
"I want you both to go home and get plenty of rest tomorrow alright? I want all of my students to be able to perform at their best. You guys are a special group, I can't wait to see what kind of heroes you all grow up to be." Aizawa genuinely smiled, giving Hitoshi and I a nod of approval before heading out.
Once Aizawa was out of sight I peered up at Hitoshi.
"Just so you know, I'm never falling for that again..." I smirked, pulling my gloves back on.
