[Chapter 13]: Bedhead
"Why...would he.....?" I whispered in disbelief under my breath. Tears began to prick at the corners of my eyes as I clutched my necklace tightly. "He probably thought this was all his fault." I sighed as my eyes scanned the room. They landed on a stack of letters by my bedside. I took the first one off the top and began to read it.
Y/N, you're so strong, the whole class knows you'll pull through this. So if you're reading this, that means that you did, that's pretty manly, to be honest! Right now the whole class is here, and everyone is writing a letter for you, even Mr. Aizawa. I just want to let you know that we all miss you, and can't wait for you to come back. These last few days have been boring, and guess what...? Iida, aka Mr. Know it all, is class rep now. I can tell that Bakugou is shaken up over what happened, he really cares about you. Right now he is sitting in the corner like he doesn't care, but we all saw the news coverage. So get ready to join our squad!
-Kiri :)
I smiled softly as I closed the letter. "They all saw....news coverage?" I groaned in embarrassment as I placed the letter back on the table and reached for another. It was from Bakugou. "Does Bakugou...really care about me?" I thought as my eyes scanned the letter. Before I could open it, a nurse walked in.
"You're awake...?" She uttered in disbelief as she made her way over to my bedside quickly.
"What am I not suppose to be...?" I chuckled softly, placing the unopened letter back on the table.
"You just started breathing on your own last night...before that, you were on life support." She replied, giving me a soft smile as she began checking my vitals.
"Life....support?" I whispered in disbelief as she strapped the blood pressure cuff on my arm.
"Yes...it's a miracle that you're awake Miss. L/N." She beamed while writing down my vitals. I sat up straight as I locked eyes with her.
"Who did you guys call to discharge me?" I lowered my voice slightly as the nervousness kicked in. She placed her pen behind her ear as she clicked her tongue.
"So Miss. L/N...you're getting discharged today, but before that, we have two officers that are going to come and ask you a few questions about the incident."
"So who did you guys call?" I interrupted, trying not to sound nervous as I rubbed the back of my neck.
"The Shinsou family was initially going to take you in because we couldn't find your legal guardians. But one of the officers informed us that he was your legal guardian. So you're probably going with your dad kiddo" She replied, giving me a bright smile.
My eyes widened slightly as I gulped.
"What's wrong..." She questioned with concern in her eyes.
"I..it's nothing...I'm just still shaken up over what happened." I muttered while playing with my gloves.
"I saw it on the news...I'm sorry that happened to you guys." She spoke softly. "Many people are calling you a hero for keeping everyone safe before the first responders arrived on the scene. They are calling you 'the miracle child." She smiled softly. My eyes went soft.
"M..miracle child..." I muttered as I smiled weakly.
"Yeah kiddo...you have a bright future ahead of you." The nurse beamed as she laid a hand on my shoulder. Before I could respond, loud knocks rang out from outside. "Come in." The nurse shouted as she left my bedside.
Soon after, the door slowly swung open. My breath hitched as my eyes locked with E/C eyes.
"Y/N....thank goodness you're alright." The devil yelled as he barreled towards my bedside. The nurse smiled brightly as she exited.
Upon getting face to face with me, he deadpanned. "I don't know what I would have done if I had lost you." He spoke dramatically with a straight face as he embraced me in a hug. His lips lightly brushed against my ear as he whispered.
"Don't say anything you'll regret..." He threatened lowly. I smiled softly.
"And what's stopping me from screaming right now, and telling them everything you've done," I whispered back coldly. He chuckled as he hugged me tighter, pulling back my hair.
"You must love your friends a lot." He spoke in a condescending tone before he clicked his tongue. "I may have to pay Katsuki Bakugou, Hitoshi Shinsou, and Mina Ashido a visit, oh and don't get me started o-"
"Okay...I swear if you lay a single finger on any of them ill..." I started at a low growl, as my blood began to boil.
"...I Love you too Y/N, let's get started, Mark." He beamed, looking over his shoulder to the other officer. As he pulled back, he gave me an evil smirk before returning his poker face.
"So we apprehended the suspect, he claims that he has no memory of the incident." He clicked his tongue before adjusting his hat. "The only thing he claims to remember is standing before you and an already drenched Mr. Bakugou with the pump in his hand before fleeing because he got scared." The second officer began scribbling in the notebook.
"Okay...it's obvious that he did it." I deadpanned, as I played with my necklace.
"We're just informing you on what has happened..." He narrowed his eyes slightly as he shifted. "Hey...Mark, can you leave for a second, I want to talk to her in private." My heart monitor began to slowly speed up as the second officer left. El Diablo's gaze shot to it.
"Calm the fuck down...I just have to tell you something." He spoke sternly as he inched closer.
"Then do it from across the room." I retorted coldly, clutching my necklace tightly.
"Who gave you the necklace...huh?" He smirked as he paused in place.
"None of your business." I retorted as I narrowed my eyes at him.
"I think you're forgetting who you're talking to Y/N." He chuckled softly as he adjusted his badge.
"Just say what you have to say, and leave me alone please," I muttered softly as I regained my composure.
"First...the government wants to detain you because of this incident that happened. They believe that your quirk is an endangerment to society." He spoke nonchalantly. My heart skipped a beat before it sped up again.
"I said calm the fuck down...I'm not finished. "He continued as the sound of the speeding heart monitor filled the room.
"I told them that you have your quirk controlled now because they are still holding the incident when you were seven against you. So they are giving you one last chance." He cleared his throat.
"And plus, if they detained you right now with all of the coverage, there would be problems. So they are going to watch how you do in the upcoming sports festival to make their final decision."
"And what is the final decision?" I furrowed my eyebrows at him.
"Either you get detained, get executed, or continue normal life...I personally want you to stay alive and suffer a bit if you don't have that quirk of yours controlled. Cause by the look of what happened....you don't." He spoke coldly as he pulled the door back open to let Mark in.
"Alright thank you Y/N...the Shinsou family will be discharging you in a few hours...let me know if you need anything." He spoke as he smiled brightly at me before leaving the room with the other officer. The sound of the door clicking shut echoed through the room as I was left with only the sound of my breathing and the heart monitor.
"The sports festival decides my fate..." I pulled the covers closer to myself as I laid back down.

"It hurts Toshi...can we go slower." I panted. Hitoshi and I were moving at an inhuman speed.
"We just started Y/N, we can't just slow down." He replied breathlessly as his unruly hair swung back and forth.
My legs were throbbing as we continued through the fifth consecutive round.
"Up...down...up...left...left...right...up" My mind raced as the round began to end. Hitoshi was in the lead.
"Goddammit bedhead," I shouted as I pushed him, failing to knock him off balance. He chuckled and continued dancing elegantly, hitting every move perfectly. "Fuck it." I hopped off of the board with my head down as the game ended. Hitoshi hopped off soon after. I slowly raised my head to see Hitoshi with a shit-eating grin plastered on his face.
"Sooooo...." he began dramatically.
"You're better than me at Dance Dance Revolution" I deadpanned, speaking dramatically slow in a bored tone. I pulled my phone out of my pocket as it buzzed. "No one ever texts me." I furrowed my brows as I read the text.

Whatever.
"Who are you talking to?" Hitoshi suddenly asked, causing me to shoot my gaze up to him.
"Some of my 1-A friends," I replied with a smile. He returned a slight smile as he rummaged around in the coin bag.
"Hey let's go p-" He started. Without thinking, I interrupted him.
"One day we should come to the arcade with some of the kids from 1-A. Like I know Mina and Kiri would love it...and we have already seen Bakugou here so it would- " I paused as I peered into Hitoshi's tired eyes. "Oh sorry...did I interrupt you?" I lowered my voice.
"No, it's okay..." He smiled softly as he handed me the coin bag and shoved his hands into his hoodie pockets.
A/N: I would have never thought this book would get close to 1000 views. The amount of support you guys are giving is amazing...I love you guys. Thanks for the comments, reads and votes. It really means a lot to me. It feels like just yesterday I had 8 views and was debating on continuing the story. There should be an update every day this week....unless I get writer's block :/
Peace out ✌
