"Hurry up we're going to miss them."

Dan says leaning against the wall as he eagerly waits for Phil to slip on his shoes and coat. Taking his hand entwining their fingers Dan waits for Phil to lock the door behind them the two quickly make their way from Phil's house. 

"I hope these clouds leave I want to be able to look at the stars and get some pictures but I can't do that with them blocking everything."

"Don't stress about it so much it's going to be alright."

Phil smiles slowing their pace a little as he wraps his arm around Dan's waist bring him to a walking pace. Dan swings his free arm as he waits for the field where he and Phil normally watch the stars to come into view. This was something the two did almost every night, once or twice on occasion Dan would be able to drag Phil out in the snow. Even if they didn't stay out for very long it made them both happy. 

"But the longer we take the less time we get to look at them."

Dan frowns walking beside his boyfriend who shakes his head with amusement Phil gives Dan's side a light squeeze. The two continuing their walk to the field Dan feels his excitement grow the closer they get. 

"There it is!"

The younger lad exclaims in excitement slipping from Phil's grip he picks up his pace wondering a ways into the field before laying down. Taking his time so not to tire himself out Phil hums quietly to himself as he joins Dan.

"The sky is here in the field is really clear tonight that makes me so happy."

Dan sighs smiling as he begins counting the number of stars in his head he knew he would never be able to count them all but he enjoyed trying. Phil takes the blanket that he packed in the bag on his back out for them to lay on. Tugging Dan to lay next to him Phil places a kiss to his boyfriend's cheek.

"I love doing this it's calming and just helps wash away all the stressful things going on even if it's only for a little while."

Phil nods listening to Dan ramble on in a soft whisper he loved spending time with Dan but it was these moments he cherished the most. Being able to hold Dan close to him as they do something they both love made him ecstatic. The night held a lot of meaning to the both of them Phil had first asked Dan out on a crisp November evening after their families had got together for dinner with some of the neighbors. 

"You've gone awfully quiet are you okay?"

"I'm fine I'm listening to you and letting my mind wander a bit."

"Oh okay I wanted to be sure I didn't bore you to sleep."

Dan laughs cuddling closer to Phil when he pulls him closer a chuckle rumbles through Phil's chest.

"You definitely don't bore me at all no worries love."

"I want to take a few pictures and then we can cuddle more yeah?"

"Do what you need."

Phil smiles watching as Dan pulls his camera out snapping a few pictures the breeze ruffles his hair making them both pull their coats closer. 

"Let's not be out here too long I don't want us to get sick."

"Just a few more minutes."

"Okay now come over here under the blanket please."

Putting his camera away Dan lays next to Phil on the grass wrapping the blanket around them a little tighter. 

"I love you."

"An I love you thank you for coming out here with me I love when we get to do this."
