{Twenty Four}
Taehyung checked his watch, wondering why Sierra didn't show up for lunch. He had managed to evade Victoria and was growing tired of her endless flirting. Taehyung found her amusing, entertaining for the most but he knew that he would never want anything further with her of from her.
Glancing at his phone, he began searching for Sierra's number and called her but it went immediately to voicemail. He checked the time again and figured maybe she had another seminar to attend but he was almost sure that they were clear for the afternoon, at least for the first day.
Wonder what she's doing?
Back in her room, Sierra paced back and forth in her bedroom, muttering swears and threats as the image of Victoria and Taehyung haunted her like a bad dream.
Sierra's thoughts and feelings were like old family feud that has ran such an tumultuous course, not able to recall what began battling at all. However, she knows the reason for this war.
Kim Taehyung.
Baffled in wonder while being caught in hysteria of the way he has made her feel since the moment they kiss, Sierra reached the point of no return. She had fallen in love with him and this terrified her utterly. Someone at first glance she would never look twice at but he was adamant in making his presence known to her however he could. An annoyance that grew into like, haloed an adolescent infatuation and soon blossomed into a love that even she couldn't remember how it happened. Nonetheless, it did and she was growing tired of the fight.
She found herself smiling often thinking of his never ending advances and his arrogant advances humorous. The hangover kiss he left her pondering for days, wanting to believe that he was trying to play her and she used that as her defense on many occasions until she realized that it wasn't and since then, used it as an excuse.
Taehyung never gave her a reason to think that he would treat her like other suitors she's had. In his on way, he showed that his status was just that. His personality spoke otherwise from being a spoiled, rich playboy executive. If he had been that way, he didn't give her that vibe. She would only refer to him as such block her own feelings, a denial that only dug her deeper into curiosity.
Aside from his satin lips that sweetened her with the most sinful kisses and a touch that would ignite a fire in her bones. He was the epitome of a fine wine and she was the epicurean, ready to devour and indulge in his decadence.
Even with all these feelings, she wasn't too clouded with lust to understand that he was just a visitor here. Taehyung wasn't in New York on a permanent basis and what would be her reason for getting involved with him when he only here for a short time?
A fling would have been easy and if that was the case, it would have occurred long ago. However, this was not the type of relationship Sierra was in search of. She wanted something solid and needed stability not financial but in life itself.
She felt his hurt during their conversation that drew a bold line for neither of them to cross but it wasn't one sided. It pained her just as much to say the words that separated them especially since she was fallen for him.
Professionalism was something to be tested on this trip and ending up in the same room couldn't have been a coincidence. Part of her was sort of relieved that she would be around him more than she expected. On the other hand, it also brought a bit of apprehension not knowing how she maybe able to resist him if he decided to pull one of his advances.
Just the idea of hearing his dark, deep and sultry voice made her weak instantly, aside from awakening other feelings in her. Sierra glided her finger across her lip thinking of him.
Taehyung was one of finest men she had ever seen in her lifetime. From his professional stature to the perfect fit of his designer threads that clung to him perfectly in all the right places, he is a paragon of excellence in her eyes.
Everything about him intrigued her but his mind was the sexiest part of him. Sierra always admired him in meetings, seeing first hand why he's earned his reputation of a financial genius. Witnessing this and getting a glimpse of his personal life aside from his business demeanor told her more than his words ever could.
He was her ideal match, boss or not.
Sierra huffed as she plopped on her bed, still seething at the sight that caused her to retreat to her room in the first place.
"Why Victoria?" She bellowed, only to be met with an echo.
Sierra was pissed at the idea that Victoria always managed to sink her talons into every handsome executive that ever graced the doors of their company. Her reputation of being a slut proceeded her but no one would ever dare say it aloud. She abused her power as the Human Resources director and would find anything petty to throw at someone who challenged her in order to make them uncomfortable and leave.
She should be drowning in lawsuits.
"Fucking plastic breasted bitch." Sierra muttered.
She couldn't understand how Taehyung couldn't see through Victoria but then again, there was a tiny part of her that somehow knew he attracted women of that nature. Sierra thought he wouldn't fall prey to Victoria but felt that maybe her pushing him away, shoved him right into the seductress's arms.
This made her sick.
I need a shower. Sierra thought as she quickly stripped down to nothing, rushing to the shower to turn in the water. As soon as the steam began to rise, she stepped inside in order to calm herself.
In the midst of her attempt at relaxation, Taehyung walked inside their suite, dropping his bag on the stool inside the foyer and hurrying inside.
"Sierra?" He called but received no response. Taehyung walked closer toward Sierra's bedroom and opened the double doors. He noticed her clothes on the floor and heard the shower running in the distance. A muffled echo called his attention as he walked closer.
Taehyung grimaced, forehead creased as his heart raced against his chest. His eyes wandered the ground, wondering if he really did hear what he assumed until the sound resonated again. He sighed as he sat on her bed, mind swirling with reasons and possible explanations for what he was hearing.
A worry succumbed him. He wasn't sure what he needed to do but he was absolute of one thing, he was going to sit there and wait on her until she returned from the shower and he wasn't going to rest until he learned the cause of the tears she needed to shed there.
