Epilogue
Ten Months Later
Sierra yawned, waking up from blissful slumber. Though the sun was semi-blocked by the buildings, she smiled, knowing that she could greet the amber wonder of nature on the rooftop of her loft she shared with her boyfriend, CEO of the former company she worked for.
Hopping to her feet, Sierra grabbed her robe and slippers. She did a quick check in the mirror to achieve a look that minimized her sleepy appearance before exiting her bedroom.
"Taehyung?" She called, but only silence returned.
Shaking her head, she headed for the rooftop access and found him sitting at the table with a light breakfast prepared. She grinned at the sight.
"There you are. Dining alone?" She paced towards him, admiring the setting for two.
Taehyung smirked as he placed his phone down. "Well, I was hoping the gorgeous woman sleeping in our bed would join me, eventually."
"I know I slept later than usual, but last night exhausted me," Sierra spoke as she took a seat. "Entertaining on a Sunday is not something I enjoy doing."
"Potential investors, my love. You are a gold mine in the making. You have gaming publishers wanting to bring your creation to computers and consoles. Your work is just beginning." Taehyung stated.
Sierra blushed at her boyfriend and acknowledged the sun before smiling. "I'm already exhausted from it. I need a vacation."
Taehyung grinned at his love. "Soon. We fly to Korea for a month in two weeks. You will have all the time to rest then."
Sierra quirked a brow, "speaking of, why aren't you at work?"
Taehyung poured a glass of juice for himself. "The VP is handling business for today, and my new assistant will call if there is anything. Plus, Mrs. Rossi will be there to handle any mishaps. She's proven herself most reliable as my Human Resources Director."
"Reliable indeed," Sierra repeated. She lifted her glass to receive some juice until she noticed a sparkle inside of it. Her eyes widened when she tipped the glass, allowing the object to fall in her palm. "Um, Taehyung?" She gasped. "What's this?"
Taehyung smiled as he observed Sierra's eyes glistening with the diamond in her hand. "What does it look like, love, hm?"
Another scoff eluded Sierra. "Like a ring. A highly expensive one."
Taehyung got up from his seat, walked over to Sierra, kneeling next to her, and gestured for the ring. Sierra handed it to him, her gaze never leaving him.
"I had a friend tell me I should use my money to buy you something nice, and so I did. I bought you this house and this ring. So..." Taehyung positioned the exquisite piece of jewelry on his fingertips and took Sierra's left hand, lifting her left finger to him. "Now that I've done what was suggested, I'm asking if you would do me the honor and be my wife. Even though I've given you these temporary things, I now offer you my heart to keep with you forever. Will you marry me, Miss Harper?"
A wide-brimmed smile harbored Sierra's lips as a tease occurred to her. "Wait, this isn't another bet, is it?"
Taehyung's eyes widened. "I-No!" He shook his head and sighed. "I wish I'd never told you about that."
Sierra grinned, inching closer, "You should be grateful, Mr. Kim. Then I wouldn't have had the honor of saying yes, I will marry you."
Taehyung's chocolate swirls gleamed in emotion as he slid the ring on her finger. Sierra leaned in and parted his lips with hers, soft and sensual, savoring this romantic moment.
"Just when I think I couldn't love you more," Sierra whispered into their kiss.
"I'll never stop loving you, Sierra."
"And I you, Taehyung."
