Pragathi whined, but Sivaangi was busy searching for the ladder to jump out of the compound wall which made Pragathi furious,

'Yei, na inga polambitu iruke ni yenada na aeniya theditu iruka?'

Sivaangi sighed and turned towards her friend for the first time since they came near the compound wall after Sivaangi's decision of leaving the hostel secretly at almost 11pm in the night,

'Na yepo gola sapda kuptalum ni polambitu dhana iruka? idhu enakenna pudhusa?' Sivaangi smirked while Pragathi kept her hands on her hips,

Sivaangi finally lifted and placed the ladder on the correct place to climb up in excitement which made Pragathi eye her in disbelief,

'Idhu onnu namma ooru school ila namma veedu ila, college hostel uh! inga maatuno nu vaiyu..mavale vachu senjuruvaainga..'

Sivaangi who was half way on the ladder spoke,

'Edhey? ice gola vikra manushana kuda pathu vachutiya? aana timings ella epdi pudicha?' Pragathi widened her eyes in shock while Sivaangi looked at her and winked,

'Ice gola mukkiyo Bigilu! seekro va!'

Ashwin huffed and rolled his eyes for the nth time who is actually the only foreign person among the set of boys who came for a drink at the chilled night,

'Ni kudikala na yengala yenda saavadikra? vandhu oreee oru cool drinka kudichutu yengala vida jaasthiya polambriye da!' one of his friends Haresh whined,

'Avana pathi dha theriyumla da? sir uh teatoteller uh..kudikradhu matumilla, andha vaada irukra pakkame vara mataru..' another friend kalachufied which made Ashwin glare at him,

'Munna mari ila, ipo konjo namma kooda vandha okkaravachum seiraan, munnadi la aiyayooo..kudicha bodha erangra alavuku advice pannuvaa..' everyone giggled which made Ashwin huff,

'Pesungada nallla pesunga, car drive pandriya da nu keka yenkita dhana vandhaaganum..pathukre!'

Ashwin got up from his seat and went outside to get some fresh air. He is not against drinking unless it becomes an addiction. He had his own morals but that doesn't mean he avoided the get togethers with his friends. No one forced him, knowing that he wouldn't change himself and he didn't want to.

Ashwin looked either side of the road which looked silent without people or vehicles at that night. His legs involuntarily lead him to walk along with the peaceful night. The breeze brought a smile on his face, and the sudden voice brought him out of his trance,

'Thambi, oru udhavi panna mudiyuma?'

A man in his late thirties called Ashwin which made him turn,

'Sollunga na..'

'Yenoda ice gola vandi, dho! andha muttu sandhula niruthitu vandhiruke..oru avasara velaya veetuku ponum, veeta pooti saaviya nane eduthutu vantena..yen pondatiyum pullayum veliya nikranga..yen veedu pakko dha, na seekrama poi kuduthutu varra varaikum yen vandiya konjo pathukreengala thambi?'

Ashwin peeped behind and saw the ice gola vandi and looked at the man for a few seconds,

'Neenga vena onnu eduthu saptukonga thambi..' he said which made Ashwin chuckle,

'Adhella venda na, neenga poitu vanga na pathukre..'

'Inga dhana epovum niparu..innaiku enna aalaye kaano?'

Sivaangi searched for the ice gola vandi but it was no where seen in the usual spot,

'Elaru unna mari ipdi nadu rathiri la pei pisasu mari suthitu irupangala? avarukum kudumbam kutti nu irukumla, adha veeta kelambeetaru..' Pragathi huffed but Sivaangi was seriously searching for the ice gola man and found the same vandi a bit far from their spot which brought an instant bright smile on her face,

'Dho!! ice gola vandi!'

Sivaangi clapped her hands and hopped towards the van not bothering Pragathi's polambals. Once she reached it, she frowned looking at the new person who was facing the opposite side,

'Idhu namma gola anney mari ilaye..yar idhu pudhu body?' she thought but then shrugged it off as she was fully determined on having her favorite ice gola,

'Thambi!'

That person was talking to someone through the phone and wasn't aware of her subtle voice which made Sivaangi huff.

She raised her voice a bit and called this time, startling the person,

'Dei thambi!'

He turned towards Sivaangi and his eyesight fell on the petite frame who stood there with a furious expression. Sivaangi's frown turned into a smitten one looking at the new ice gola vendor. Pragathi shook her out of her trance and Sivaangi's expression turned back to her fierce mode,

'Velaila irukra nerathula yena phone vendiruku? Evlo nerama kupdradhu pa unna?' she asked and the man looked confused at her.

Looking at his expression, Sivaangi kept her hands on her hip with a sigh,

'Seriya pochu po! kaadhum kekadha?' she murmured but this time, the man spoke,

'Hello, yarku kadhu kekadhu? adhella nalave kekum!'

His base voice impressed Sivaangi the very first instance itself. She cleared her throat and spoke back,

'Pina evlo vaati kupdradhu? seekrama rendu ice gola kudu pa thambi..' she asked earning a gasp from his side,

'Edhu? thambiya?'

'Pina? annana? Edho paka konjo young ah iruka nu thambi nu kupta romba dha panra?'

Her small confronting looked super cute to him and he smiled inwardly, admiring the woman without his knowledge,

'Oho, apo ella aambalaingalum ungalku thambi ilana annana?' his infamous base voice and his eye contact stirred something inside her and she gulped before stuttering,

'Ah..dha..bha..modhalla ice gola kudu, nanga ponum..' she huffed for which he smiled inwardly. He suddenly received a call and instantly knew who it was.

He ignored the call but repeatedly got calls. He answered it,

'Dei Ashwin! enga da poita? evlo nerama theditu irukro inga? innerathula engada ice vithutu iruka?'

Hearing his friend, he choked the air and looked around him immediately, confusing Sivaangi. He visibly heaved a sigh when there was no one around and noticed Sivaangi looking at him with a confused look,

'Ice gola pani thara sona nee un paatuku un velaya pathutu iruka? idha ni vela pakra latchanama? huh? chinna pasangala lam velaiku vacha ipdi dha!' she exclaimed to Pragathi while Ashwin gasped at her words.

Pragathi leaned into Sivaangi's ear and spoke,

'Yei, ni overa poitu iruka di, aalu paka heighta weighta irukaa..thirumba adichaa nu vaiyu, thaanga mudiyafhu di..kandippa yennala mudiyadhu..'

Sivaangi gulped and looked at him who smirked and went back to his work, which made her sigh in relief.

Ashwin didn't even know what to do actually, but he felt like acting along as the character itself and he didn't know the reason himself.

He was searching the cups for a while and Sivaangi looked at him with a frown. Sensing her gaze, Ashwin gulped and opened the ice box to crush the ice. He winced due to the freezing coldness of the ice when he tried to pick it up,

'Unna patha indha vandila vela pakravan mari therilaye, engayo irundhu indha vandiya thallitu vandha mari la iruku?' she gave a suspicious look for which he widened his eyes, but soon composed himself,

'Ila nga, na inga dha vela pakre..velaiku pudhusu adha..'

'Seriya pochu po! ni epo ice gola kuduthu na yepo hostel poyi..' Sivaangi huffed while Ashwin spoke with a surprise,

'Hostel ah? College ah neenga?' he asked excitedly which made Sivaangi frown,

'Unaku edhuku andha information uh?'

Ashwin gulped looking at her scrutinizing gaze and went back to his work silently. However, he managed to make 2 ice golas after much effort. The whole time Sivaangi huffed and puffed which made him smile genuinely. He wondered whether a woman can be cute and beautiful at the same time.

He thought how the situation has brought them together this fateful night. If he had refused joining his friends earlier, he would have missed meeting this woman tonight, he thought.

'Hmm..paravaliye, finally! ara maninerathula epdiyo fasta rennnndu ice gola pani kuduthutiye!' she mocked for which he looked at her in disbelief. Life won't be uninteresting with her, he thought. Bjt why is he thinking of that? He questioned him back.

The way she enjoyed the ice gola with moans made him smile. He loved the way how she forgot everyone around her and been herself. He averted his gaze whenever she sensed him looking at her.

She forwarded the money,

'Indha! romba kashtapattu ni panni kuduthathukaha extra tips serthu vachiruke..' she flashed a smile,

'Adhella venda, actually kasu venda..' he denied which made her frown,

'Yen?'

'Neenga matum innaiku inga varalana na en vazhkaila oru periya vishayatha miss panirupe..' he said and she frowned more which made him clear his throat and speak further,

'Adhavadhu, epdi ice gola panradhu nu ipo dha kathutu iruke..adha miss panirupe nu sonne..' he finished for which she smiled.

'Kathukradhuku inu unaku vayasu iruku thambi, slowa panalum ni super ah paniruka..adha first step uh..' she patted his shoulder for which he looked at her kutty hand on his shoulder and his heart skipped a beat.

No one in his life except his single mother has appreciated him by patting his shoulder. Her words were mature than her appearance. He felt a motherly affection from her which overwhelmed him.

'Irundhalum andha thambi dha idikudhu..' he thought.

'Seri thambi, na kelambre..hostel warden kandupudicha na nanga gaali..' she whined and hopped happily.

Ashwin looked at her retreating figure with a smile but frowned when she stopped and turned,

'Na ADK College la dha padikre..inime enna marakadha yena? daily varuve ice gola sapda!' she said and went while Ashwin stood there with a shock filled smile,

'Ohoo, namma college ah?' Madam nalaiku vanga..namma meeting romba interesting ah iruka pogudhu..'

The next day, Sivaangi and Pragathi got ready in a hurry as it was late for their college. Pragathi kept scolding Sivaangi,

'Ellam unala dha Sivu, nethu raavu raava ice gola saptu vandhu nalla thoongita..ipo paru, late ayiruchu!'

'Niyum dha thoongita, enna mattu kora soladha..' Sivaangi pouted for which Pragathi rolled her eyes,

They reached the college and Sivaangi was scared to enter into the lecture hall definitely. As they were in their first year, she knew that she would be punished for being late from the beginning itself as it will create a bad impression about her. But it was too late to think. Anyhow, about yesterday, she didn't regret having ice gola with the new person who prepared it for her.

'Ashwin, anga paru..freshers varranga da..'

The day newcomers came, Ashwin and the gang went on an educational research trip so that they couldn't meet them all. Ashwin was least interested in it until he saw Sivaangi the previous day. He was excitedly waiting to meet her at the college next morning.

Ashwin's eyes forgot to blink when he saw Sivaangi walked in like an angel in pearl white shalwar. Her loose hair flew due to wind and she was adjusting it with a huff which made him smile. Her kholed eyes and soft pink lips stirred something inside him. He sensed that she was tensed due to the delay and he knew the reason which made him chuckle.

'Dho parra oruthana? eee nu ilichutu nikraa..yenada Ashwin...vilundhutiya?' one of his friends teased him for which he chuckled with a blush,

'Dei yenada ivan vekkamlam padraan..confirma paiyan kavundhutaan!'

'Dei! suma irungada..' he denied,

'Yaru, andha white shalwar ponnu dhana? iru na kupdre..' one of his friends was about to call but Ashwin stopped him,

'Venda da paavo, late ayiruchu pola..potum..' he said for which his friends said 'Ohhhhhh...'chorusly, teasing him to the core.

'Indha ponnu! inga va..' Ragu, his friend called him and Sivaangi looked at the side where the voice came from. She noticed a gang of boys there and gulped hiding her fear. Pragathi got nervous,

'Pochu pochu! seniors pathutanga, inime avlo dha..vachu seiya porangala namala..' she whined and Sivaangi shushed her,

'Ipo pogala na ena panuvanga?'

Pragathi widened her eyes,

'Ei, seniors ah pagaichukadha apro avlo dha..'

Without listening to it, Sivaangi walked further but heard another voice again,

'Madam kupta nika mateengalo?'

Sivaangi turned again and this time she got shocked when she noticed the ice gola boy standing in the center of the crowd with a smirk.

'Aathadi! idhu ice gola paiyanla? ivan ena panraan inga? apdina..ivan namaku seniora..' Pragathi whined frightenening Sivaangi,

'Avane dha la?' Sivaangi gulped,

'Unaku vera vaai suma irukadhu, nethu vaaya kuduthu vambu pani vachuta..innaiku namala avaru urichu thonga vida poraru..'

Sivaangi walked towards him while twisting her palms in nervousness. Ashwin kept smiling until she came near him.

'Yena madam, sathathaye kaanom? nethu avloo pesineenga..namba mudilaye? edhu unma..adhuva idhuva?' he bent his head down and looked at her who tried to hang down her head and hide herself due to embarraassment.

He chuckled mentally when she pouted murmuring something cutely. He cleared his throat to bring her out of her mumbling,

'Adhu..sorry..neenga senior nu theriyama..' she started,

'Therinjirundha matum? madam mariyadha kuduthirupeengalo?' he lifted his eyebrow questioningly for which she nodded her head negatively,

'Aama kandippa! Anna nu kuptirupe na!' she exclaimed seriously for which Ashwin widened his eyes and clutched his chest,

'Idhuku thambiye paravala..' he thought and spoke,

'Ila paravala venda..aana nethu enna avlo torture pannadhuku badhil ku na edhu panala na yepdi?' Ashwin smirked and Sivaangi gulped,

'Aiyayo! please na, kandippa inime neenga irukra pakkame vara mate na..please na please na please na..' she pleaded but Ashwin got pissed off because of her way of addressing. If it was another girl, he would have forced her to call him as anna.

'Modhalla indha anna nu kupdradha niruthriya? gaanda iruku..' he murmured the last words but his friends heard him and smirked with a known smile which he ignored,

'Pina yepdi kupdradhu?' Sivaangi asked in confusion,

'Uhm..solre..aama..un peru ena?' he asked but then noticed her ID which was hanging on her neck and read it,

'Sivaangi..hmm..' he looked up at her who stared at him which made his heart skip a beat. Composing himself, he spoke.

'Ipo lectures ku late ah vandhadhuku enna panuvanga theriyuma?' he smirked and she nodded negatively,

'Oru maasathuku unna ulla eduka matanga, veliyave dha nikanum..' he lied and she gasped,

'Aiyayo! oru naal late ah vandha kudava? idhella aniyayama iruke?'

'Idhulerndhu ni escape ahradhuku na vena help panatuma?' he offered and she looked at him eagerly,

'Yepdi?'

'Adhu epdi nu na sola mate, senju katre..ipo ni class ku po..namma aproma pakalam..' he said and Sivaangi frowned while Ashwin's friends gasped,

'Aproma namma edhuku meet pananum?' she asked in confusion while Ashwin crossed his arms across his chest and smirked,

'Ipo na idhuku badhil solanuma ila ni poi punishment vangriya?'

'Ila ila! namma aproma meet panalam..' she said and ran towards the class which made Ashwin chuckle and look at her retreating figure with a constant smile on his face.

'Ena macha? iva dhaana?' his friends asked and Ashwin replied back with his infamous smile.

Two weeks passed. Sivaangi continued enjoying her ice gola from the same vendor, not realising that she was being admired by someone who started to fall for her since he saw her. Ashwin started dragging his friends in the midnight out of the hostel just to have a glance of her cuteness every night. He ignored his friends cursings as he was completely into her admiring her to the fullest.

Ashwin wondered whenever she sensed his strong gaze and looked around. Ashwin didn't want to be obvious and he didn,t know where this was going to lead him, bit honestly he liked it.

One day, Sivaangi was searching for Ashwin and once she spotted Ashwin in the canteen, she came towards him,

'Neenga elarkum enanu soneenga?' she asked and he frowned but he knew what was coming,

'Ena sonne?'

'Na unga aalu nu edhuku soneenga?' she asked him offended and even in the angry bird look she looked cute and irresistible to him,

'Adhu..ah! annaiku unna kapatha vendama? adhuku dha sonne..' he shrugged for which she glared at him,

'Adhuku? ipdiya soluveenga? yara ketu apdi soneenga?' she bursted and Ashwin was a bit worried whether she didn't like him in any kind of way. From her expression, he was sure that she was pissed off which made him gulp, but he soon composed himself and spoke,

'Yara kekanum? edho, namma college ponnu..late ah poi punishment vangira kudadhe nu help panalame nu sona..romba dha panra?' he lifted his eyebrow for which she believed him for a while, not realising his true feelings towards her,

'Ila, neenga help panradhukaha solirundhalum ipo elarum namma couples nu nenachutu irupanga la..adha..' she dragged and looked into his eyes which softened and showed something different which made her heart twist,

'Nenaikatume? nala dhana iruku?' he said innocently, making her gasp.

'Enadhu? nala iruka? nala irukradhukaha lam enala nadika mudiyadhu!'

'Edhuku nadikanum?' he asked in a heartbeat which made Sivaangi stunned. She looked at him and he looked into her like she was his everything. Sivaangi was not that ignorant for not being able to feel what he expressed, but she didn't want to jump into any conclusion.

If someone had said to her that a senior like Ashwin who is really popular among the girls would be interested in her, she must have laughed out. Still she couldn't find it as real. Without a word, she turned and was about to leave but stopped when Ashwin spoke,

'Nejama irukalame? enaku indha nejam pudichiruku..' he confessed, but Sivaangi was overwhelmed with her feelings. She spared a look at him and left which made him confused. From her facial expressions, he learnt that she didn't dislike him, but shocked regarding the happenings. He decided to give her some time. A blushy smile bloomed on his face and looked at her retreating figure with a grin.

Since then Sivaangi became too conscious about him being around. Even though she chose stay away from him ignoring him, but it became a big task to avoid him. She noticed him almost everyday with his friends nearby whenever she went to have ice gola in the night as usual and that brought an unknown excitement and shyness in her, but she didn't express it. Ashwin was not ignorant to miss noticing it. He decided to move along with her to make her express herself.

Ashwin's friends teased him for insisting his friends to come out to have some drinks everyday, only to have a glance at her.

'Dei, un love kaha engala kudika vachu saavadika pakra pathiya?' His friends mocked him but he didn't bother,

'Enakaha, en feelings kaha ore oru vaati saaha matingala da?'

Ashwin gave an innocent look for which Haresh gasped,

'Macha, madhu arundhudhal udal nalathuku kedu nu endha paithiyakaran sonaan? Namaku irukra stress ku idhella thappe ila macha, control ah irukalamla?' Ashwin smiled sheepishly for which Prem, one of his friends smirked,

'Dei pangu..eli edhuku sweater ilama oodudhu nu engalku theriyadha yena? Ni nadathu da!'

Without Sivaangi's knowledge, she started searching him everyday in college, but she didn't know that she would miss him badly if she didn't see him once in a day. She denied when Pragathi asked about it too.

'Dei, niyada idhu? Yenda ipdi ayita?'

Ashwin's friend Ragu was stunned when Ashwin begged the ice gola anney to borrow his vandi to wait for some special person and make her favorite ice gola all by himself.

'Nane dha, ipo mooditu kelambriya? ava varuva ipo..' he huffed and Ragu clutched his chest,

'Aalu vandhone friend ah kalati vudra la?'

'Irundhalum ni romba maarita da! aama enaku oru doubt uh..' Ragu asked and Ashwin clenched his teeth,

'Innaiku ava varuva nu yepdi solra? Adhuvum moonu naal ni college vera varala.. innaiku dha vandha, aana avala paka varala.. athepdi urudhiya solra ava unna thedi inga varuva nu?'

Ashwin smiled for his question,

'Kandippa varuva..adhella apdi dha..'

'Moonu naala varadhava, innaiku yepdi varuva?' Ragu asked and got shocked when he saw Sivaangi walking towards the ice gola vandi in order to find him.

'Yepudraa?'

Ashwin smirked at his friend, 'Idhanala dha innu yendha ponnum unaku ok solala..ipo mariyadhaya kelmbu, ilana saavadipen..' Ragu clutched his chest and gasped, but Ashwin ignored and pushed him away to get rid of him at that moment.

These three days, Sivaangi was disappointed when Ashwin didn't show up. She missed him so much which she didn't want to admit. She got more disappointed when she didn't see him at their usual spot near the ice gola vendor. That moment, she started worrying about what would have happened to him. When she saw him on the 4th day, she felt an unknown happiness and relief but got angry when he ignored her.

She fumed in anger when Ashwin laughed with some other girls and spoke, totally ignoring her. She somehow guessed that he would be coming here so that she can ask him some "naaku pudungra mari" questions.

Ashwin grinned looking at her who was walking towards the ice gola vandi with so much of hope. She was stunned for a while when she looked at Ashwin there at the place of the vendor. She soon composed herself and reached the vandi with a straight face which made Ashwin smile inwardly,

'Enaku ice gola venum, anna enga?'

'Innaiku na dha ice gola kudukre..unga order ah solunga madam..' he smirked visibly for which Sivaangi rolled her eyes. She was genuinely happy but also pissed off when Ashwin ignored her that day after being absent for three days.

She twisted her lips and ordered 2 ice gola as usual. She widened her eyes in appreciation when Ashwin made them quicker than that day. She gulped when he looked so handsome in the moonlight while keenly making her ice golas. He carefully finished his work and found her gaping at him which made him chuckle and Sivaangi came out of the trance before averting her gaze.

'Madam unga ice gola ready..'

Sivaangi cleared her throat and collected them but gasped softly when his fingers grazed her hand when he handed them over. Heat rose on her cheeks and she bit her inner cheeks to control herself which didn't go unnoticed by him.

Not wanting to be so obvious, Sivaangi turned to leave but stopped in her tracks when Ashwin called her,

'Ipdi edhume solama pona yepdi?'

Sivaangi turned towards him with a frown,

'Yena solanum?' a small smile peeped in her face but soon it turned into a glare when he spoke,

'Ice gola pathi yedhume solama pona yepdi?'

'Huh? Idhelam oru ice golava? Varadha vela lam pathutu irundha ipdi dha..adha matha ponnunga kuda sirichu pesra vela nalla varudhu la? Adha poi paka vendiyadhu dhana?' Sivaangi casually spitted her gaandu which made Ashwin chuckle out louder,

'Hmm..yarko inga kovam varudhu..' he said and she realised what she said and turned abruptly,

'Chi chi!'

'Kovapata yevlo azhaga iruka theriyuma?' Sivaangi stopped again in her tracks and she felt chills all over her body when she heard his open admiration. Before she turned, she felt him standing behind her and he neared her earlobe, making her freeze.

'Ivlo love um enakahave thaeki vachutu ipdi yedhume solama pona yepdi?' he whispered in her ear and she gulped closing her eyes. Ice golas in her hand were long forgotten. She stood there like a statue being in his spell.

'Lo..love ah? Ap..apdilam..ilaye..' she stuttered which made him smile,

'Apo yen kanna pathu solu edhume ilanu?'

Sivaangi turned towards him. The moment she looked into his eyes she understood that it was going to be not an easy task to hide herself. Ashwin's eyes landed on the melting ice golas and Sivaangi's eyes followed his. Ashwin held her hand and forwarded it towards her lips and she wordlessly tasted it. The few droplets from the ice gola remained on her lower lip and Ashwin couldn't resist himself from wiping it off gently with his thumb which made Sivaangi shudder.

All these actions of him made her dizzy and she bit her lower lips due to nervousness.

'Ice gola nalaruka?' he asked and she looked at him like he was even real. Did he do all these things just to ask whether the ice gola he made was good?

'Ipo idhu nalaruku nu solanuma? Rendu naal pani kudutha ice gola ku na comment kudukanuma ipo?' she huffed and Ashwin smiled knowingly,
