based on what's going on in the world today. as someone who lives in california, atm my parents don't want me out of the house so i'm stuck lol. here's a chapter even though i haven't published anything in awhile!

it was a thursday night, everything seemed to be normal for the two teen lovers, till they turned on the news and found out about a new disease.

"we have intel that there's a new disease spreading and we highly encourage everyone to stay indoors as this can spread easily" the news reporter said.

"holy shit" mike said under his breath.

the couple was already cuddling when mike pulled el closer to him.

that's when mike felt tears on his skin.

"el?"

"mike... i'm scared" el said while crying.

"oh el! don't worry at all. i wouldn't let this disease get to you. we're safe. i'm here with you ok?" mike said while brushing away tears with his thumb.

el didn't say anything but just cuddled into him more. as the couple watched the news some more.

it was 9:00pm, when hopper came home... also the time for mike to head back to his own house as well.

"hey hop" el and mike yelled in unison.

"hey kids, heard about the new disease?" he asked.

"yeah, pretty scary" el said.

"they're calling it corona virus or COVID-19 in science shit" hop said as he sat down on the couch.

"oh el i think i have to head back. i'll be back first thing in the morning" mike said as he began to sit up.

"no! don't go!" el yelled.

"what's wrong?" mike said.

"the corona. it's too scary" el said quietly.

"el it's not going to get to you if you're inside. don't worry" mike said while grabbing her hands.

"hey kid. el doesn't look to happy about you leaving. and it's not too safe to be outdoors right now. wanna stay with us for however long this shit is? i'll let karen know" hop asked.

"you sure?" mike said confused how hop is asking him to stay.

"yes kid. it's too dangerous right now"

"well thank you. i'd love to stay" mike said with a smile.

"yay!" el yelled before jumping on mike.

"can he sleep in my bed?!" el asked hop.

"no funny business and you got a deal. mike, watch over her and make sure she isn't getting nightmares please" hop said.

"will do hop" said mike before being pulled into el's room.

"i'm so happy! but scared, mostly happy!" el said.

"el, i know you're scared and so am i, but we need to talk about it. we shouldn't go outside without each other, and we should only eat as little as possible so we don't run out of food. ok?" mike said while grabbing her hands.

"ok mike. i promise" el said before leaning in and giving him a kiss.

"I SAID NO FUNNY BUSINESS!" they heard hop yell.

"sorry dad!" el yelled back.

the couple laid low the next couple of days and only went outside to get some fresh air. they only ate as little as possible and just had fun with each others company. that was until they turned on the news again.

"corona cases are getting worse. this is a natural emergency and we ask all schools to close. everyone stay inside and please don't be stupid and walk anywhere. if you need to go somewhere, drive!" the news lady said.

mike looked over at el and saw she was shaking.

mike ran over and hugged her to make sure she was alright.

"it's going to be ok el. i promise" mike said.

"it better be" el said.

they then cuddled on the couch and turned the channel to something more fun. and watched that for the rest of the night till el fell asleep on mike.

mike kissed her head

"i'm not going to let a little virus get into you el, and that's a promise" he whispered into her ear.

he could've sworn to see a smile from her face.

the next morning they woke up on the couch will hop cooking breakfast.

"morning" hop said.

"what time is it?" el asked.

"8"

"dang we slept good" mike said before giving el a high five.

"hey mike, your mom called and wanted to make sure you were good. she said she understands you need to stay with el so she's dropping off your clothes and other useful items" hop said.

"ok sounds good" mike said.

mike and el got ready for the day even though they were trapped inside. they all played board games even though el sucks at them.

they continued to just hang low and enjoy being inside for however long as possible. hoping one day this would all be over. but they had each other, and that's all that mattered.
