"And then we're done!" Vasquez said, a look of respite on his face. "How aren't you even tired?"

Placing his hands behind his waist, he groaned tiredly after we'd deposited the last of the unconscious men as far as possible from the gang house.

"Are you set for the next phase?"

"Ready!"

Vasquez pulled out a laptop from the bag on his back. He hopped on his car and placed the laptop on his lap. During my stay in the house, I'd gone about planting tiny deactivated electronic bombs that no one had ever noticed.

Now Vasquez was set to hack into the detonation system and blow out the entire building along with all the weapons inside.

He could have done it from the comfort of his house but like he said, he didn't want to miss out on the awesomeness.

"When's it gonna..." I began to ask when suddenly loud 'booms' tore through the air, startling me.

"Okay, this so so cool!" Vasquez said, eyeing the burning house in adoration. "I've always wanted to see a live explosion!"

"You could have at least given me a heads-up" I glared at him

"Sorry." He said, then looked at Alacran. "But wasn't it awesome, Alacran?"

Alacran continued to look at me like he hadn't even heard Vasquez.

"Okay. I knew the drug was effective but damn its effective."

"I'll take it from here, Vasquez. Go home and call the police. We've displaced enough evidence around these men to get them detained. Make sure they can't trace the call."

"Your belief in my IT skills is very refreshing." He said wryly, glaring at me.

"Thank you. I couldn't have done this without you."

The playful look on his face turned to a sombre one. "Like I've told you before. I only need your thanks after The Godfather is dead."

The main reason Vasquez was helping me was that The Godfather had kidnapped his sister two years ago, raped her, and then killed her when he was done.

For two years he'd been carrying the burdens of guilt and his hate for The Godfather, helpless because he was too afraid of exacting revenge which caused him nightmares.

It was after one of his nightmares a year ago when he'd come to a bar to drink that we'd met. He'd poured out all his woes because he'd been too damn drunk. That was when I'd realized we had hate for the same man.

I'd taken him home and waited for him to get sober and then warned him to control his tongue. I'd never thought I would need him until recently. As soon as I'd looked for him and told him about my plans for revenge, he was all in.

Vasquez gave me a faint smile before leaving in his car. I returned my attention to Alacran who didn't even seem to have noticed the house explode

"Get inside the car. You're driving."

"Yes boss."

I looked at him when we were both seated. "Take me to The Godfather's hideout."

"Yes, boss." Alacran said, before stepping on the pedal.

He was looking at me as if I was a god. Vasquez had managed to get me the drug from the black market, but whoever made it was a genius.

"Eyes on the road!"

While Alacran was still under its influence, I could get him to do whatever I wanted, answer every question I wanted. I thought of the gay men he'd killed and the glibberish things I'd heard him muttering in his nightmares.

"Alacran."

"Yes boss?"

"Those two gay men. Why did you kill them?"

"Because all gay men deserve to die."

"Why do you think that?"

"That is what my father told me when he killed Noberto."

"Noberto?" I asked, curious.

"Noberto was my love before I met you."

"Are you in love with me, Alacran?" I asked.

"Yes boss."

Yesterday it'd been only suspicions. Now I had the facts. It suddenly made sense why things had been so smooth, why the right-hand man position and Alacran's trust had come so easily. It was the last thing I had expected though.

Anyways, I couldn't afford to think anymore about it. We were now in the sugarcane field. After a while, Alacran finally stopped the car. I heard that followed by the lowering of the incline.

Alacran drove down the underground driveway and parked at exactly the spot he'd parked the last time. The guards along the driveway and the parking spots were positioned just as I remembered the last time.

I turned to him. "When we get out, take the lead and unlock the door with your prints."

"Okay, bossy." He answered, puppy-eyed.

We got out and I followed him. When we got to the door, one of the guards studied Alacran with squinted brows probably because of how dazed he looked.

Alacran placed his hand on the scanner, and the door parted open for us. We strode deeper into the room to find The Godfather clinking glasses with another man about his age.

I cursed under my breath. Shit, I hadn't expected an inconvenience.

The Godfather looked up and saw us, and his face broke into a smile. He got up from the couch and walked towards us.

"Alacran! Just the man I was expecting." He slapped Alacran lightly on the cheek. "Come, come have a seat."

Alacran looked at me as if for approval and I nodded subtly. He followed to sit down beside The Godfather on the couch opposite the one the other man was sitting on.

"I told Marcello here about your beating the Sierras and retrieving our stolen shipment. He would like to know how you did it." Diablo said, looking at Alacran expectantly.

Alacran just looked dazedly but pointedly at him without a word.

"Is your right hand okay? He doesn't look too good." The man I didn't know observed.

"Oh that's just like Alacran." The Godfather brushed it off, but his smile dimmed when he stared at Alacran. "Alacran, I said tell Marcello how you did it."

"I only answer to my boss." Alacran answered without hesitation.

"What the heck? I am your..." The Godfather trailed of when he noticed Alacran giving me that you're my god look.

The room grew quite. Too quite. Shit was about to explode quicker than I'd planned. From my last trip here with Alacran, I remembered the exact positions the six guards in the room had been taking.

Without wasting time, I pulled out my gun from the pocket of my jacket. It had a silencer so that the guards outside weren't alarmed.

Spinning on the heels of my boots, I fired six shots into different locations as I spun. I'd shot all the guards in under five seconds. None of them had stood a chance.

I stopped my spin to find The Godfather on his feet looking at me in horror. "Who the fuck are you?"

"You're probably going to be finding that out soon." I replied cooly.

He turned to Alacran indignantly. "Alacran! Didn't you see what he just happened? Kill this bastard!"

Alacran didn't move a finger. I chuckled cynically, stepping closer to The Godfather. "You might want to reconsider that before I turn that order on you."

"You've hypnotized him. You have him under your influence." The Godfather glared at me.

"So genius of you to notice." I butted his head with the butt of my gun, and watched him fall down unconcious. Then I looked at Alacran. "There's a torture room here, right?"

"Yes boss." He answered.

I turned to the middle aged man who had been with Alacran to find him looking at me with terror. I aimed my gun at him.

"Please, no. Please don't kill me."

I hesitated. Was it wise to let him go? Sure, I had nothing against him but he was an associate of The Godfather and every associate of his was as fucked up as he was.

Besides, he'd seen my face. If I didn't kill him, I would only be guaranteeing that there would be people coming after me just when I would be trying to live a normal life with the love of my life.

I stood there conflicted, until the man suddenly reached into the inside pocket of his suit and pulled out a gun. I was quicker. My bullet pierced his skull.

I turned to Alacran. He was watching this with no emotion at all but the I worship you look. "Take him to the torture room." I pointed at The Godfather.

I watched Alacran struggle to heft him onto his shoulder. He began walking, and I followed, my eyes on the look out. I couldn't be sure I had eliminated all guards inside the house.

The torture room was dark but for the lamp that hang from the ceiling, focusing on a chair with chain bindings. I commanded Alacran to strap The Godfather in.

I wondered how many people The Godfather had had strapped in that very chair, begging for their lives. Those people were going to get the justice they deserved today.

After Alacran was done, I uncapped the bottle of ammonia and brought it to The Godfather's nose. He coughed, pulling his face away. Then he began to struggle in the chair.

"Let me fucking go you bastard."

"Alacran, would you like to give him ten hard punches right now." I asked without looking at Alacran.

"Yes, boss."

"Do it."

The Godfather's eyes widened as Alacran stepped closer. "Snap out of it, Alacran! He has you under his influence. Snap out..."

His words spiraled into a yelp as Alacran delivered a punch to his mouth. I watched as Alacran delivered the second nine to other parts of his face as savagely as the first one had been, The Godfather screaming all along.

Wow. Perhaps, a part of Alacran's real self had been wanting to that for quite some time.

"Kneel before me, Alacran." I commanded. He did so rather quickly.

I looked at him looking back at me like I was his everything. This was as far as his help went. It was time to take him out. Leaving him alive would be like spelling disaster for me and Montse as well as many other innocent people.

"Take this Alacran." I said, pulling the silencer off my gun and handing it over to him. He took it. "Now aim it at your head."

"What are you doing?" The Godfather asked in alarm. I wouldn't have thought he cared about Alacran a bit.

Alacran placed the mouth against his temple.

"Pull the trigger." I commanded.

"No!" The Godfather screamed just as the gunshot resounded through the room.

Blood splattered on the floor before Alacran fell on on his side with a thud, eyes wide, lifeless.

I didn't feel particularly satisfied, but I knew it was inevitable. I fixed my gaze on The Godfather who was looking at me with horror.

"Now let's get to you."
