She's the younger sister of Mason Hewitt. Like her brother, Mikayla also knows about the supernatural side of Beacon Hills. She's not mentioned much because she is younger than Mason by a year.

Growing up..

Well life wasn't always fair, but she did what she could to be with her brother. Her parents didn't really want another kid. They loved Mason but when their mother found out that she was pregnant again, she wanted to give the girl up for adoption because they had been blessed with one child already. Their father disagreed and wanted the daughter. So Mikayla grew up not really knowing her mother, she wasn't around for a good majority of her life. So Mikayla's father played the "mother" role for her. He was always very protective of his little girl.

But later on Mikayla grew up. She wasn't a little girl anymore and didn't need anyone's protection. Her brother was always there for her. Mikayla felt this strange connection between them. Like how she would always know what was wrong with people. It's like she had a sixth sense or something. But it turned out that her feelings were true, and she really could tell what was wrong with someone just by staring at them for a few minutes. At first, she thought she was crazy. No one could tell what was wrong with someone, not even the person themselves. She could see everything, she could feel their 'aura' What I mean by /feel/ is that she could sense the light and dark in the person. All the worst fears they had, and all of the insecurities. At first she thought she was getting these crazy headaches and daydreaming. But in reality, she wasn't. Just upon meeting the person, she could literally tell if they were good or bad. She could see the light and shadows. However, she still didn't know what she was.

It got worse one night after she hung out with her brother and his friends. This all happened about a year ago. One of his best friends had came back to the house to pick him up. And something was really strange with him. Mikayla warned him, "Mason, don't go out tonight!"

"Mikayla, I'll be fine" Mason replied, "it's just Chris, he's cool".

He smiled and went out. But Chris really wasn't fine. Mikayla stared off into the darkness of the night. She saw a glimpse of a dark shadow around Chris. Normally she saw a really bright light around her brother, but now it was pitch black, a straight black soul. She knew it was dangerous.

About an hour after they had left, Chris had fell asleep due to some pills that he had taken earlier in the day. Apparently he had a drug problem that was caused earlier on in the year, and he was supposed to be going to rehab but lately he didn't attend. Mason steered the wheel and got them safely out. Chris never remembered what happened that night. Mikayla called Mason on his cell, "are you okay?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be M?" He had asked her. "Because I know that you were in an accident. I know because I saw something dark around Chris, and you should've listened to me Mason". "That's impossible Mikayla, you couldn't have seen that!"

"I did, Mason. Believe me!" She sighed, "fine, you don't. But I did!" "Alright I believe you. I'll get a cab back home, don't tell dad okay?!" He said. Their mother had left them earlier that year. "Alright, get here safely please." Mikayla added and finally hung up.

After that her headaches got worse. She saw a dark light around her dad after their mother had left him. It used to be so bright. Mikayla didn't know why she saw such strange things, but she did.

A year later they both started at Beacon Hills High, it's supposed to be a new year, a fresh start. But will it really be a new start for Mikayla?
