32- Black Lives Matter

#BLM. Mild trigger warning

"Ooh, Mika-chan, there's a fifty percent sale at Louis Vuitton!" Ferid exclaimed.

Mika rolled his eyes and looked away from the displays of designer bags. "It's not worth it. If a bag that's twenty thousand is on sale, then I'll still have to waste a ten thousand American dollars for it." he stated.

"But just look at them! The limited edition collection is included as well!" the senior vampire protested.

"If you wanna spend your cash on it, go right ahead I'm not stopping you. And put your mask back on, you're gonna infect everyone." the blond scoffed shaking his head.

"Hey, are you not worried about my health- hey, wait for me!"

The war had finally ended a year ago. Humans and vampires have come to a truce after defeating the First and the human population has fluorished. However, there were still the Four Horsemen Of John to deal with and another problem.

     The Coronavirus.

It affects both humans and vampires, so the world was stuck in lockdown. Worst of all, the gang (and Ferid) were on vacation since the pandemic started, so now they were stuck in New York. At least Mika was able to see Yuu... even if he had to be seven feet away from him. Dating while social distancing sucks.

"Let's try that one! It's Gucci!" Ferid said pointing to a boutique across the street.

"I'm trying to save money here," Mika said raising an eyebrow. "You can become broke, I'm going home."

     "But-"

      "STOP, THIEF!"

Turning around, the two saw a woman pointing accusingly at a dark skinnd man. With their enhanced hearing, the two can make out the conversation perfectly.

"Ma'am, I bought this bag with my own money," the man said, pulling out his wallet.

"Like hell you did! You can't afford a thing in that place!" she snapped.

"What makes you think that?" he asked calmly.

"I know what people like you do! You're all the same!"

     "People like me?"

Mika balled his hands into fists and started towards the two, only for Ferid to grab his wrist.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

"I'm gonna give that woman a piece of my mind," he said.

     "But it's not our problem."

"Who cares if it isn't? I can't just standby and watch this go down." Mika said yanking his fist out of his grasp and made his way towards the two.

     "Excuse me-"

"Get lost, bloodsucker! This is none of your business!" the woman snapped.

Great, a vampire phob and a Karen. This is going to be fun.

"I just wanted to say you shouldn't accuse someone based on their skin colour." he said in English.

"Shut up! They're all the same! I bet he got that cash from some sort of gang work!"

     "I'm actually a CEO of-"

"I don't care!" the woman barked.

You were walking down the street when you saw Mika trying to defend this man from a Karen. They had attracted a crowd at this point chanting "Racist, racist!" over and over again.

     You...?

I just wish people would stop judging and discriminating people by their skin colour. It pisses me off. Black lives matter, people.
