POV Yume

I arrived in the town , it was called "Greenhorne" and I went to see the first person I saw, I had to have information. The first person was a guide who was just chilling and he noticed me.

Carefree Guide : Huh ? What's up with you ?

Me :  Near this town , in the hills, there were a pair of eyes who was floating and then it merged with a butterfly and the butterfly got eyes on his wings !

Carefree Guide : Butterflies with eyes on their wings ? Is this a kind of joke ?

Me : I'm not joking at all ! I'm totally serious !

Carefree Guide : You've probably hallucinated. Greenhorne is such a peaceful place , a place to leave all your woes behind.

I sighed and went to talk to someone else and this time, it was a sort of tradeswoman

Cheery Granny : It's a joyous day , don't you think ? The weather is just be-YEW-tiful !

She looked at me

Cheery Granny : Oh , an adventurer ! Why the long face ? You can't go round looking like that ! Come on , give us a smile ! You know you want to.

I smiled like she asked me to.

Cheery Granny : A smile brings happiness !

I started to feel much better and decided to talk with all the inhabitants that I will meet

I was looking around when a little boy ran towards me

Sassy Child : Hey ! Look ! Look ! I'm a dragon !! Raaaarrrr !

I laughed a little and decided to play with this child and soon after, a woman came to us

Worried mother : Louis ! You shouldn't run to strangers like that, maybe you can disturb them!

I understood that it was the mother of the little one

Sassy Child : Sorry..

The mother sighed

Worried Mother : Sorry for my child's behavior... My child has so much energy , it's hard for me too keep up !

Me : Don't worry ma'am , it's okay ! No need to apologize.

After it , I went to see 2 other inhabitants

(N.A : The names are from the Lovey-Dovey Couple btw 👇👇👇)

Raphaël : D'awww...

Lucy : Tee hee hee !

Raphaël : You're so cute , Lucy !

Lucy :  No you're cute , Raphaël !

Raphaël : I feel like I'm dreaming...

Lucy : Shall I pinch you ? Tee hee hee !

They seemed to be in their own little world , they didn't even noticed that I was there.

I went to talk to an other inhabitant, but this time , the inhabitant seemed really... grumpy.

Sarcastic Guy : What ? We don't see your type often. You're here visiting or something ?

Me : Umm... Kind of.

Sarcastic Guy : Probably some kind of relaxation vacation. Must be so nice for you , I'm so jealous...

I walked to the last person I saw , and this one was dressing different from the others and when he saw me approaching him , he greeted me.

Dublous Mayor : Hello there , adventurer ! I'm the mayor of this town. I take it you've spoken to all our townfolks ?

I nodded to affirm.

Dublous Mayor : Greenhorne's a nice town ! But I'm the mayor , so I kinda have to say that.

I was about to asking about the weird butterfly from last time when the wind suddenly started blowing and black clouds began to cover the beautiful blue sky...

Some of the inhabitants were starting to get really worried while I didn't understand what was going on at all.

Dublous Mayor : Oh no... He's here !!

Me : Huh ? Who's here ?

He didn't have the time to answer me when a strange figure appeared in the sky.

He was a person of titanic size. His skin had a blue tint, his eyes were bright yellow. Below his left eye, he had a kind of black mark. And at his right eye, he had a symbol, like a black cross and he had a weird purple hair cut. He wore a long purple coat with like a slightly lighter purple fur at the top of the sleeves and this fur met at the top middle of the coat and he had a necklace dark green with a symbol representing a eye. He had two blue hands and each of them had a dark golden "bracelet" and his fingernails were hooked and purple.

He didn't seems to have arms , legs or feet.

This weird person laughed evilly before speaking

The Dark Lord : I am the Dark Lord, Xeno ! I've come to wreak havoc and terror on this miserable world ! And I'm starting with you , people of Greenhorne ! It is time to taste true fear ! Say goodbye to your faces !

He used his powers and the child , the women from the couple , the grumpy man , the tradeswoman and the guide had their faces removed.

I watched this scene , horrified.

The Dark Lord : Hmph ! This will do nicely for now. Listen up , you faceless freaks !

He looked all the people who got their faces taken

The Dark Lord : Get used to a life of wordless terror , because it is what you're stuck with ! And those who've been spared...

He looked at the mother of the little boy , the men of the couple , me and the mayor.

The Dark Lord : Take a long nice look at your poor friends... AND DESPAIR ! So long !

He laughed one more time before disappearing with the stolen faces.

I looked around , the inhabitants seemed so... desperate , I was feeling so bad for them..

I noticed that the little boy's mother was about to cry and I decided to go talk to her and trying to make her feel better even if I know how bad she must feel.

Worried Mother : My poor Louis ! Don't panic... Don't panic...

She noticed me.

Worried Mother : Oh ! Adventurer ! I beg you , please ! Please , help my Louis !

I was really hesitant, I knew I wasn't going to last long against this fiend but... I didn't want to leave this poor mother in distress, I had to try.

I sighed and then agreed

Worried Mother : Oh... Thank you ever so much !... I know !

She reached into her dress pocket before handing me something.

It was a old sort of amulet with a blue gem having a closed eye représented.

Worried Mother : Please take it , it's our family's good-luck charm.

I took it and putted it around my neck.

Worried Mother : I fear the Dark Lord still lurks nearby.  Could you maybe take a look around outside the town ?

Me : If it can help you , yes.

I walked away and got out of the town before started to walk in the hills near the town.

After having walk for a long time , I thought that the Dark Lord was gone so I was about to return in the town when he suddenly appears and laughed evilly. Apparently , he really like to laugh-

The Dark Lord : Is someone trying to be the big hero ?

Me : Give Louis' face back , you fiend !

Louis' face appeared between me and him.

The Dark Lord : What , this ol' thing ?

Me : Yes !

The Dark Lord : Hmm... Maybe I will give this one back to you.. But it wouldn't be funny if it was that easy so you'll have to earn it.

Me : What do you mean !?

He didn't answer me and he made a sticky yellow monster appear and he came to put Louis' face on it.

The Dark Lord : How good are you in a fight ?

I was starting to shake from fear, to be honest, I've never fought against someone and even less against a monster.

The Dark Lord : Be seeing you ! If you survive , that is !

He laughed for 4th time before disappearing. I stared at the monster not knowing what to do when it suddenly tried to attack me.

I closed my eyes and screamed for help, afraid I would end up in terrible shape or even dead.

Then I heard a sort of magic noise , so I opened my eyes.

I looked at where the noise was coming from and realized that the noise was actually coming from the charm, it shimmered with a bluish glow and the charm floated in the air.

A white light invaded my view, when I could see again, I was in a blue and purple place with white birds flying. Then, I heard a serene voice...

? : Yume... Yume , can you hear me ?

Me : Uhh... Yes ?

? : Ho ho ! It does seem that you're hearing me... What good fortune this is ! Now , you may not believe this but I'm kind of a... guardian spirit.

Me : Wait- WHAAAAAAT ?

? : Please , just hear me out. It seems you are in trouble , my child. Would you like a little help ?

Me : Yes , please ! I don't think that I can get rid of this monster-

? : Then... I , er , bestowelh upon thee the awesome power of the guardian !

After they finished this phrase , 6 "weapons" appeared in front of me ;

- A sword
- A wand
- A staff
- A pan
- A microphone
- A dagger

? : These weapons are weapons representative of certain jobs ;

- The sword is for the warrior , the warrior has a powerful sword , the warrior can easily hurt the enemy and he's very good at defending himself or other peoples.

- The wand is for the mage , the mage can inflicts terrible damages on the enemy with his magical attack.

- The staff is for the cleric , cleric's job is a support one , the cleric can heal himself or others , he also has revival skills.

- The pan is for the chef , the chef's job is also a support one , and his capacities are pretty similar to those from the cleric job , but the chef heals people with his capacity to cook really tasty things.

- The microphone is for the Pop star's job , It's a support job and a area-of-effect damage job too. This job is focused on party support.

- And finally , the dagger is for the thief's job , the thief is fast as the wind and has many techniques for surprising the ennemy , this job is an offensive one , a thief can hurt many enemies at the same time.

Me : That's... a lot of informations, I will choose the warrior's job ! It seems really cool !

After I finished my sentence , my yellow tunic and capri pants transformed into shining armor with a yellow cape and a large sword appeared in my hand.

Me : Would you look at that...

? : Ho ho ! This is just what you need to deal with the Dark Lord's fiends ! Now fight , O Yume ! Make your foes fear you !

After that , the place turned back to normal , I was back in front of the slimy yellow monster. This time , I wasn't scared at all. I felt so strong !

I started to attack the monster with my sword until it finally dies. The monster disappeared and Louis' face flew to Greenhorne's town.

? : Excellent work , young Yume !

Me : Awww , it was nothing...

? : Now that child should be safe. Ho ho , things are looking up ! Now , time to make the way back to the town of Greenhorne !

I nodded to agreed and I walked back to Greenhorne.

When I arrived in the town , I went to see the mother and his kid. Just when I was about to talk to her , Louis' face flew back to where it belongs.

Worried Mother : Louis ! Are you okay ? Are you not hurt , are you !?

Sassy Child : I'm fine !

Worried Mother : Oh , thank the stars !And thank YOU , kind traveler ! Please , take this as a a mother's appreciation.

She handed a bag of Gold and I took it before thanking her.

I was about to walk away for seeing if I can do something for helping the others when I suddenly came back to the strange place from last time.

? : Ho ho ! Wonderful , just wonderful ! Now then , Yume , my child. I have a another task for you.

Me : Erm... You do ?

? : You have seen the deeds of Dark Lord Xeno. He's made quite the mess and that's putting it middly. And so , I commission you...  Defeat the vile Xeno and save this world ! Are you in ?

I was pretty hesitant, normally , I'm just a 16 year old girl who likes to travel, nothing more. This quest seemed particularly hard for someone like me...

But in a way, I can't let this world descend into chaos, someone needs to act. And that someone is me.

I sighed before starting to talk again.

Moi : Alright... I will save this world and get rid of the Dark Lord Xeno.

? : I'm very happy to hear that ! Your new powers should help you to contend with Xeno. Now , Warrior Yume ! Go forth ! Defeat the Dark Lord ! I expect great things from you , ho ho !

After they finished talking , I was back in Greenhorne's town and walked out of the town for trying to find the others faces.

Here I come , Dark Lord Xeno !
