" Ladies listen to me! From today on, only ruler of Harem is going to be Mihrişah Haseki Sultana. From now on she lives in Valide Sultan chambers and she is Chief of Harem. You will all listen to her rules and respect her." Haci aga said to concubines in Harem news that Sultan gave him.

I was standing on the balcony in front of Valide Sultan chambers from where I could look at whole harem and see concubines' reaction when Haci-aga said this to them.

" But Haci-aga, this means she won't send any new concubines to our Sultan. She is his wife and she won't allow us to do that." concubine named Afitap said.

I remember her since I came to Harem, she always wanted to spend night with Sultan Murad, but she never had enough luck to do it.

" Afitap, enough. Silence." Lalezar Kalfa yelled on her so she could calm down, but she didn't calm down.

I could see all of the concubines aren't happy with the decision Sultan said and I could hear all of them gossip me. But I didn't care. Because I had everything that any woman in this world would want to have.

" Lalezar, you promised me long time ago to send me to Sultan, now I will work here as maid for the whole time." Afitap said angrily to Lalezar.

" We will do nothing here than clean, we don’t want to wait for our old age here in Harem because Mihrişah won't send us to Sultan." another concubine named Azize said.

"  Who said you will stay here until your old age?" I said to them loudly while I was on balcony which looked at harem.

When they heard my voice, they all turned to me and bowed to me. They all seemed pretty afraid of me.

" Sultana, excuse us, we will punish them for speaking like this to you." Lalezar said while she was bowed to me. She seemed like she is embarassed because I had to hear what are concubines talking about me in Harem.

Both Afitap and Azize had their heads bowed down and didn't even dare to look up at me.

" After three years of service, I will free you. You can leave this Palace and find suitable husbands for you. No one will keep you in Harem so long." I said to them and I could see they are also not happy because of my words.

" Sultana, what is point of Harem if we can't visit Sultan? What is point of having so many women here if we can't serve His Majesty, but instead we have to listen to you?" Afitap raised her head and said to me upsetly.

" It is not my mistake Sultan never called for you. You missed each of your chances, and you can't blame me for that." I said to her sarcastically.

All other concubines from Harem looked at her and started making fun of her, while she felt embarassed.

I raised my hand in sign to stop them making fun of her at this moment, and they immediatley stopped.

" You are all acting like I have done something bad to you, but I have done nothing. I wished to gift you, girls from Harem today, but that won't happen today because of those comments I heard now." I said to them and raised my head.

I saw what is it to be on high position now. How power can turn people into devils, same way it turned Kosem into devil. She wanted power, and more and more power.

But I promised myself, I won't be like Kosem. I won't be bad as she was. I will never make anything bad to anyone just for my goods.

All of concubines seemed angry on Afitap and Azize, but there was nothing I could change now. I won't allow them to act like this towards me.

After leaving Harem, I decided I want to meet my brother Mahmud-paşa. I knew he still doesn't know about his marriage with Atike. I was devastated when I found out he will have to be with her. Because I knew Atike will do only bad to him as I am his sister.

" Mihrişah, my sister, what good happened?" My brother Mahmud asked me when I met him in Palace.

" Nothing good happened, Mahmud." I said to him and sighed. He looked at me worriedly.

He was my twin brother and person I was closest to, I didn't want to lose him just because of Atike.

" What happened? I am worried now." Mahmud said to me worriedly.

" Sultan decided that he will marry you to Atike Sultana very soon. I wanted to tell you that before he does." I said to him and looked at the ground. He didn't even probably know how bad would this affect him.

" What? That traitor who wanted to burn your children?" Mahmud asked me as he couldn't believe what Sultan decided to him.

" Yes. Excatly that one." I said to him and looked him sadly.

" Why didn't he punish her? She wanted to kill your children?!" Mahmud looked at me as he was confused why Atike wasn't punished, even though she should have been.

Murad had big heart for his sisters. He always loved Gevherhan and Atike with his whole heart, and that was why he couldn't punish her too. He thought letting Gevherhan marry Silahtar would punish Atike the most.

" I don't know, my brother, but I want you to take care of yourself. I don't believe Atike and I know she is ready to do whatever she wants to you. Because she wants to punish me, and she could do that if she does something to you." I said to him and looked him sadly.

I just found him again after so many years, I can't lose him again. He was my only thing from my family I had here for now.

" What happened to Vika? Oh, Zarife?" he asked me as he couldn't look at me sad anymore.

" She is sent to Old Palace, and her son was killed. Poor child, he didn't deserve to die like that." I said to him and continued to be sad.

" Mihrişah, that was done to save your children. You should take care of your children and not be sad about other incidents about Palace." Mahmud putted his hand on my arm.

" Mihrişah, how do you dare to be close to any another man while you are married to Sultan Murad Khan? You know you will be punished for this." Atike came to me with a smirk and raised her head.

Out of all people in this Palace, it was her who came now. This would make me into trouble, because I didn't know if it would be better to tell her that Mahmud is my brother, or to keep it as a secret.

" Have you met Mahmud Paşa? Man who saved my sons when you wanted to burn them?" I turned to her and showed her Mahmud.

She looked at me angrily, but proudly at the same time. She was only searching for details with whom she could put me in the trouble.

" I don't care who is he, you will be punished for talking with him." Atike said to me.

" You should care who is he because he is going to be your husband really soon." I said to her and raised my head, looking at her looking me shockedly.

" What are you talking about? That is not true! I will marry for Silahtar!" Atike said as she couldn't hide shock from her face.

" I am Mahmud Paşa. Mihrişah Sultana's brother, and unfornatley your futute husband." Mahmud said and laughed.
