 Scar's POV:

 I yawned as I handed Cub some iron and diamond blocks. My fellow vex nodded his head tiredly and worked to incorporate the newly acquired blocks into the machine. We, well, Cub actually, had been building this machine for about twelve hours now. I managed to get Cub to stop and sleep, drink, and eat, which I'm incredibly thankful for. 

 " I invited Impulse, Tango, and some of the others to see this. " Cub tiredly smiled as his tail shook. I nodded at him, " Are you sure that you can operate this thing? You're incredibly tired as is, Cub." I frowned as Cub waved his hand, " Scar, I am filled with vex magic, and you and I stabilize each other." he told me. Cub went on to explain how he had Impulse coming over in order to make some stabilizing redstone circuits.

 Stabilizing redstone circuits? I don't know much about redstone, but I don't think that combining redstone and vex magic is a good idea. I tried to tell Cub, but he simply growled at me before returning to his machine.

 I sighed as I answered the now knocking door. Impulse, Tango, Ren, Joe, Mighty, and Grian were waiting at the door. I allowed the six people down into the base, but I kept a close eye on Grian. Even though he has learned some redstone, he was still just as dangerous around it. It gets worse when vex magic is involved. 

 I watched as Impulse got to work on some redstone once Cub told him what to do. Tango sat down in the middle and scratched at his beard, " So, Cub, what do I have to do again?" he questioned as Cub's tail twitched, " Just generate... Just generate heat... It's cold, and the machine could lose power without the heat." he yawned as he set down more blocks. 

 Joe frowned as he leaned in to me, " Is he alright?" he questioned as he tilted his head. I shook my head, " Cub's been working on this machine for twelve hours. I think that it can fix tears in the multiverse, or it can refresh someone's wounds better than a healing potion." I told him with a yawn.

 I looked down at Joe as he let out a sigh, " Maybe you two should take a break?" he suggested with a nervous look. I shook my head, " Cub's close to finishing..." I told him as I looked around the room. 

 Ren, Grian, and Mighty were sitting down near Tango and talking to him. Grian was explaining new builds and random little ideas causing Mighty to laugh, " Dude, there's no way that that would work!" Mighty chuckled as the hybrid's ears twitched. Grian rolled his eyes, " It absolutely would work. I just need some potatoes, a carrot, some diamonds, and a piece of obsidian." he smirked causing Mighty to shake her head. Ren was simply laughing at the two's bickering. 

 Tango sighed, " I'd say connect the observer to that circuit." he yawned as his tail shook. Impulse nodded his head as he connected the circuit. The two of them kept talking in a calm whisper. Joe walked over to Ren and the others in order to talk to them.

 This left me looking over at Cub. The hermit's tail with twitching wildly. I walked over to him as he looked over at me, " Scar, we're a step away from the machine being ready." he grinned as his tail twitched. I nodded at him, " Can you please rest after? Even if you sleep, you look like you're going to pass out." I whispered as he nodded again. 

 I watched as Cub finished the last part of the machine, and Impulse finished the last part of redstone. Cub looked at me, " Okay, this should work... Watch everyone, as I make my.... As I make my tiredness go away." he smirked as he pressed his hand against a small imprint. 

 We watched as lines on Cub's arm started to glow. The vex lines swirled around Cub and slowly went into the machine. Impulse kept looking down at the redstone, " Cub, Cub maybe we should've waited for you to sleep on your own." he nervously spoke as he took a step back. 

 Impulse was right. Cub's magic started to weaken, but the machine started to buzz and smoke. The redstone was glowing more violently as well. I raised my hands and started to put a force field around everyone, but the machine was somehow getting to my magic as well.

 I can't save the others. I can barely get this around me. What's going to happen? Why did it go wrong? I looked down at Cub as he lowered himself to the ground. I managed to get the force field around Cub and me as I looked at the others. 

 " Get out of here!" I yelled at them, but I was too late. The others were already coughing and dropping to their knees. Mighty was knocked out first, Joe was next, then Grian, Ren, Impulse, and Tango. 

 I frowned. The redstone and magic should clear in a few minutes, but I need to call X and some of the others in order to help the two of us fix this mess. I pulled out my communicator as I kept the field up. 

 " Hello?" X spoke tiredly from the other end. I rubbed my eyes, " X, we had some problems over in vex land... Could you come over here? Maybe bring Tinfoil, Doc, or Mumbo with you as well?" I frowned. X let out a sigh, but he agreed to coming. I didn't really know how to explain what's happening to him. It didn't matter now though. What matters is that I need to clear the room of this toxic air.
