Not so Demised
Author's Note: I may do a sequel with little Tango and Impulse (with a confused and scared Zedaph). As of right now, Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Iskall's POV:
The game is Demise. After it started and people died, even stranger things have happened. Those who have died so far, including Ren, Stress, X, Jevin, Scar, and more recently Cub, have all vanished. The only people that have a clue about what happened to them was Grian, Void, and Bdubs, but none of them were talking.
I sighed as I paced around my shared lab with Stress. I know that I had long since abandoned it for warmer weather, but maybe it could give me a clue on where at least one 'dead' hermit was. My body shivered as I opened chests, walked through doors, and studied the unknown little secrets filled with purple crystals.
" Nothing makes sense here anymore!" I cried out to no one as I almost punched a wall. No, calm down Iskall.... Let's just go to Sahara and think. I flew out of the base and towards the shopping district.
When I got to town, Doc was standing packing food into a shulker box; he was mumbling to himself as his tail twitched. Doc's eye was glowing as he scanned the shelves of barrels; he nodded in approval before putting the boxes into his inventory.
As much as I wanted to question Doc, I decided to hide behind one of the trees nearby and watch. Doc looked around and sniffed the air in an animalistic way before finishing what he doing and taking off towards the fantasy district.
I narrowed my eye, " What are you up to Doc? You've been acting all squirrelly since you talked to Grim, no, Rendog." I mumbled as I adjusted my elytra and started to sneak off after Doc. I didn't want to take off into the sky, no, not yet. Doc could sense me if I was too close while in the air. I never liked how he could do this, but he's got more robotics than I do. Heck, my eye piece isn't really connected to my brain at all.
I shook my head as I continued to hurry down the paths while staying under the trees. Doc glided down from the sky and slowly descended into Ren's dragon skeleton. I was about to sneak out from under the giant flowers and trees, but another shadow zoomed overhead and down into Ren's base.
Who was that? Why were they here as well?
Those questions hung with me as I descended into the cave that Ren called home. My body twitched as I walked down the path and over a small bridge that went over an underground waterfall. The water led the way down the path to the secret area that led to Ren's more modern home area.
I stopped as I heard voices coming from inside the room. Doc's voice was quiet, but he was still more audible than the other person, " I can't believe you somehow managed to change the code of how people die. I know that you made the game, but why did you make this happen?" he growled.
You made the game? Wait, he was talking to Grian? Why? What did Grian do this time? I leaned closer and looked into the room. My eye widened as I looked at the scene in the room.
Doc and Grian were standing in a room of children. Against Doc's leg, two toddler age kids were nuzzling each other. The cat-like one was being licked by the bear one. Doc looked down at them, " Cub, stop licking and attacking Scar." he growled. The bear, Cub, stared up at Doc and growled back; his teeth were bared as he flopped off of the little Scar.
Scar shook himself out as his little cat back legs kicked. His ears twitched as he rubbed his head against Doc's leg. Doc kneeled down to the two small children's level, " I brought you something, Scar." he smiled slightly as he brought out what looked like Jellie. The little Scar grabbed a hold of the plush and stumbled away; Cub let out another growl before scurrying away on all fours after Scar.
I narrowed my eye. Grian, Grian, Grian, what possessed you into doing this? Doc's tail twitched as he stood up, " So, Grian, how long have they been like this? What... What made you change the code even?" Doc questioned with a frown.
Grian straightened up as he pulled back his sleeves, " The watchers seem to have been watching me, and they don't like the concept of me coming up with a game of death." he answered as he showed Doc his purple stained hand.
Doc took a step back, " So, what exactly does that do to you though?" he frowned. Grian sighed, " It makes me less able to use this hand. I can't feel, move, or basically anything like this..." he sighed as the hand twitched.
Grian's head shook, " It'll go away in a few days, but it hurt to the point where I practically begged Void to change the code on the dead hermits...." he frowned as his head shook, " I told Ren, who seemed to be the main one that didn't first freak out when they saw me, about what I did, and he's okay with it for the most part...."
The hermit looked to the corner of the room where I couldn't see; a loud bark caused Grian to flinch, " I apologized for making you all like this mate!" he frowned as a softer bark followed. I shifted slightly and managed to get a better look into the room.
A small Rendog was sitting on his bed; the hybrid was nuzzling against a young Stress. The little Xisuma was sitting next to them with a concerned look. X was playing with a small tail that poked out from under his shirt.
I tilted my head. If everyone who died so far are young, then where is Jevin? I tapped at my robotic eye and scanned around. Everyone was in there, but-
" Iskkkaaaaalll..."
I perked up as something squished against me. My body froze up as I looked down at the small blond, slimey child that was rubbing against me. I grabbed the small Jevin as he nuzzled against me. His slimey arm and leg wrapped against my arm and part of my chest.
" Hi Jevin... Are you okay buddy?" I whispered as he tilted his head, " Mhmm... I still know things... Unlike Scar n' Cubbin..." he mumbled as he rubbed against me. I nodded, " What do you mean exactly?" I questioned as I picked Jevin up fully.
" Cubbin n' Scar are like cute lil animals... They don't know much n' Cub is just smad..." Jevin mumbled as I nodded. The hermit nuzzled against me as I looked towards Doc and Grian, " Where's Jevin?" Doc questioned as I walked into the room.
The two immediately turned to me. Doc's whole body glowed red as he hissed. Grian took out his sword and narrowed his eyes before realizing who I was. Grian frowned, " Iskall... H-how?" he questioned as I frowned, " I followed Doc." I explained as Doc calmed down and stopped glowing.
Jevin nuzzled against me, " Warrrrmmm..." he wiggled slightly as I nodded. Grian lowered his head, " So, did you hear our little chat?" he asked as I nodded. Grian crossed his arms and hid his purple hand.
" Yes, and I know about your hand man..." I frowned as I tried to put Jevin down. I say try due to how Jevin was struggling against me and digging both his hand, leg, and slimey parts into me. I looked at him, " Go play with the others Jev." I sighed as the slime whimpered. Doc eventually got out a small, green slime plush and shook it at Jevin.
The slime's eyes widened as he slid down me and attached himself to Doc's leg instead. I looked at Grian and Doc, " How do you two plan on fixing this?" I questioned as Grian looked at the other small hermits. Ren was barking at Cub and laying down next to Stress. Grian shrugged his shoulders, " I'm trying to get Void on it.. He'll say that he'll maybe fix it by the end of the game..." he frowned.
I blinked, " So, we have to wait until we all die and become children?" I narrowed my eye as Grian nodded, " Yes, unless I can convince Void otherwise." he sighed as I looked towards the little hermits.
Cub was biting at Scar's tail as the cat hybrid mewed and started to fall asleep. I looked towards Grian, " I have another question... Why is Scar a cat hybrid?" I motioned towards him. Grian straightened up, " X did it. The little guy had a... had a panic attack and changed Scar's code in the process..."
When his name was mentioned, X looked at us, " I... I'm sorry..." he curled up behind Ren. Ren nuzzled against him, " You... you're fine X..." Ren mumbled as X laid down. The group of little hermits soon fell asleep in a big huddle. Doc put a very sleepy Jevin into the mix and dropped a blanket on top of all of them.
" So, how old are each of them?" I crossed my arms. Doc looked at me, " We don't know the exact ages, but Ren is the oldest and Cub is the youngest.... I assume it goes by how they perished..." his tail shook.
I nodded my head as Grian started to leave, " I'm going to go check in on Void...." he sighed as the two of us nodded. I looked at Doc once Grian left, " Do you need any help?" I questioned as he nodded and sat down, " Just watch the little ones with me." he mumbled as I nodded and sat down next to him and watched the sleeping hermits in silence.
