Frozen Cold

Author's Note: This story.. It was honestly only suppose to be one part; however, I had an idea that I wanted to add to this one. That's why there's gonna be a sequel. It'll probably come tomorrow.

 Cleo's POV:

A harsh blizzard had suddenly swept across Hermitcraft. The other hermits were in their homes or with each other to brace from this frozen wrath from the sky. A lot of the dead hermits had returned to their normal bodies in order to help keep everyone warm.

Everyone except for the IDEA boys, Joe, myself, and TFC. The IDEA boys have all disappeared recently. X simply sent us a message that said that they were just working on the IDEA building, but we all knew better. The storm was honestly the only thing that was keeping us from exploring. No one wanted to lose another to this blizzard.

Joe disappeared before the storm even began. Everyone already knew that he was a nomad of the server currently, but he hasn't even told us where he is for help against the storm. Only one message came through... Hermitville. I exited the nether portal and trudged across the snow through Hermitville. TFC was floating behind me; his eyes glowing a pure white that almost matched the snow.

" I get that you're dead, Cleo, but we need to go back!" TFC rose his voice to be above the whipping winds. I shook my head as I kept walking, " We're going to find Joe! We can't just leave a purely alive person in this weather! They could die!" I glanced back at TFC as he shook his head.

TFC gave me a stern, yet concerned look, " Alive people can't die due to weather conditions, Cleo. Grian put that rule in once he realized that the game would still be going through Winter." he explained as he crossed his arms. I stared at the ghost. TFC didn't have his body prepared yet due to how he died in lava, but the life that filled his concern was still present as he stared at me.

I shook my head in response, " It doesn't matter." I simply uttered as I pushed through his ghostly form as it tried to manifest in front of me. TFC let out a small growl of annoyance, but he kept flying after me. We trudged through the snow. The only signs of life were the roaming cows that were hiding under trees with their young in order to stay warm.

The two of us looked at each other. TFC frowned heavier, " You've got ice formin' in yer hair, Cleo..." he noticed as I nodded. I told him that it didn't really matter. I was dead again, after all. I don't need heat, and this snow and ice isn't going to slow me down.

 It never will.

We, no, TFC can't really walk as a ghost, I walked through the snow. My ripped up legs dragged through the white, cold snow that seemed to be miles deep despite only being a foot or two. It still didn't make any sense. What caused a blizzard this severe when only a few minutes ago the weather was fine?

Things never seem to add up...

TFC was flying through the ground. He went above me and below me in order to try to see Joe's body from a distance. We were probably miles away from Hermitville now. A glowing trail was coming from TFC's slightly fused legs. He was actually giving me a decent amount of light as we searched through the harsh storm.

I looked around the snow covered trees until TFC stopped moving. The hermit's glowing eyes focused on something as he darted towards a small pile of snow next to a tree. TFC flew into the pile and immediately out.

" It's him. I flew in there, and it's his body..." TFC spoke quickly as I hurried to the pile and started to dig. TFC floated next to me, " He's barely alive... His vitals are going insane right now, but he's frozen stuff like a board..." he explained as I continued to dig.

Joe's body was an icy blue. He wasn't dead, no, but he was incredibly weak. When I touched him, Joe's eyes snapped open as he stumbled away and crashed into the ground. Blood was dripping off of his slim frame and bouncing off of the ground. The hermit's glasses were broken far beyond repair.

The hermit laid on his side and clutched his stomach. Joe shook his head slightly, " ... " he was trying to talk, but his mouth was frozen closed. I looked at Tinfoil as I scooped Joe's now limp body up.

Tinfoil frowned, " I'll... I'll try to connect Doc... See if he can open a portal...." he sighed as his eyes closed. I held Joe close and shield him away from the worst of the storm, " You'll be alright..." I whispered to him. TFC reopened his eyes, " I've got it.. Doc's opening a portal..." he pointed towards the tree again.

The two of us watched as a green portal opened to the harsh weather. Doc was shaking as he held the portal opened with his claws. I handed Joe to Doc as I went through the portal; TFC was not far behind.

In Doc's A77 lab, Ren and False was nuzzled against each other next to a freshly lit fireplace. I looked to the other side of the room to find Cub, in his bear form, sleeping underneath Scar; Scar tiredly shrugged his shoulders at me before reclosing his eyes.

I looked over at Doc as he laid Joe's limp, frozen body onto a bed. TFC floated by Joe and remained by his side as Doc scanned Joe's multiple wounds. The creeper hybrid shook his head, " I don't get it..." he muttered as his tail shook.

" What don't you get?" I questioned as I sat down on a chair close by. Doc looked back at me, " Joe shouldn't be alive in this state... He looks as if an animal tried to kill him before the weather took hold of him." he frowned.

Doc had removed Joe's frozen shirt to reveal the many scratches, bites, and tears to Joe's back and sides. The blood was frozen to his skin, but anyone could tell how heavy the blood flow was based on how much pain Joe is in.

Doc continued to scan Joe, " Fractured rib, legs, and arm... Bruised back and eye... Jesus Christ..." he hissed as he opened his communicator and pushed some buttons. A gentle glow went around Joe as he was lifted into the air.

" I'm gonna take him and get him cleaned up..." Doc sighed as he carried Joe to the bathroom. TFC looked at me before flying through the wall after Doc. I looked towards the other hermits in the room.

Ren raised his head, " C-Cleo?" he spoke tiredly as he rubbed his eyes. The dog hybrid pulled himself out of the warm pile that he was in. I frowned up at Ren as his ears went back, " What's wrong? " he questioned in a whisper.

I explained to him what had happened causing Ren to growl and bare his canines. Ren tapped his bare foot against the ground. The dog hybrid's tail thrashed. I put my skeletal hand onto Ren's shoulder, " Easy there Ren.." I sighed as Ren huffed.

((An hour later brought to you by a delirious Mighty trying to bite her tail))

Doc came out of the bathroom with Joe in his arms. Joe was bandaged heavily with his arm in a sling. The hermit tried to open his eyes, but he couldn't open them. Doc sighed as he laid Joe back down onto the bed.

The hermit wrapped Joe up in some warm blankets. Joe coughed and held himself, " Easy Joe... You heard me in the bathroom.. Just breathe in slowly and exhale slowly..." Doc told him as Joe nodded.

Ren's tail twitched as he shifted into his dog form. Doc, TFC, and I watched slightly as Ren started to sniff Joe's arms and face. Joe's nose scrunched up as he tried to raise his good arm to stop Ren, " S..stop..." Joe coughed out as he flinched.

Joe sniffled as he curled up slightly. Doc shook his head and forced Joe to remain straight on his back. Ren continued to sniff Joe as his ears twitched. The dog hybrid briefly nuzzled Joe's face before walking away and shifting back. Doc shook his head slightly as he put a breathing mask onto Joe.

" I.... Joe wasn't simply attacked by an animal..." Ren's eyes widened as his tail shook. The rest of us looked at each other. Tinfoil frowned, " Ren, what do you mean?" he questioned as Ren's tail twitch, " Right, you guys can't smell too well." he frowned

The dog hybrid crossed his arms, " Joe was attacked by something, no, someone... He smells slightly like smoke, but it was covered up heavily by spider bites and the wet snow." Ren explained as his tail twitched.

" I... I think Joe was attacked by a dragon..."

Doc crossed his arms, " I do not doubt you, Ren, but a dragon wouldn't be out in that weather." he sighed as his tail twitched. Ren rubbed at his beard, " Yeah, yeah, I know dude, but what if the dragon attacked.... before the storm? As if, and hear me out, the storm was used to cover up the attack.."

We were in silent wonder. The idea was a bit ridiculous, but.... but what if it was true? Even if Ren had a good theory, Doc had the better counterpoint. No dragon could bare being out there. TFC crossed his arms, " In all fairness to Ren's hypothesize, the blizzard outside was incredibly sudden..." he brought back up with a nod.

Everyone sighed until Doc looked at everyone, " Look, we can argue and debate this all we want... I think that we should warm up and rest... We can figure this out in the morning..." he sighed as the rest of us nodded and slowly started to settle down in order to sleep.
