((Takes place a few minutes after The Highest of Seas))

 Impulse's POV:

Joe and I got Wels back to his castle. He's surprisingly light for a man who wears armor all day and night. I laid Wels down onto his bed. Joe pulled a bucket out of his inventory and set it down next to Wels.

Wels tried to move, but the swirling magic in body spiked causing him to whine and hold himself. I took out a magic seeking scanner that Tango gave me in the past and held it. The button clicked as I scanned it over Wels's shaking form.

In one of Wels's eyes, it was a solid white. The other? Black as the void that stands below the bedrock. I looked at the scanner and frowned. The magic had spread to part of his mind. Wels's mind was forced into a state of pain and deliriousness.

" Whereeeee aaare we?" Wels questioned as drool escaped from the corner of his mouth. I slipped a medical mask over my face and sat down next to Wels.  The  shaking knight looked at me and tried to move as I forced him to remain where he was, " You're home Wels...In Hermitcraft..." I told him with a weak smile.

Wels threw up some black and white liquid into the bucket. Joe and I both flinched. The magic seemed to have affected his insides a bit more than I believed. The only good news with this is that Wels can't die from the magic draining his body.

Joe took out an ice pack and laid it on Wels's head. The two of us looked at each other, " Could Cleo or Tango conjure something up to fix our magically abled friend?" Joe questioned. I crossed my arms in thought, " Tango's magic would just drain him even more... Cleo could make a spell to extract the magic from his head, but he'll be immobile for a couple of days." I told him.

Joe put on his mask as he kneeled down next to Wels. He felt Wels's neck for a pulse, " It's decreasing from its volatile rate." he told me as I nodded. Wels made a confused, pained sound as he rolled onto his side. I studied his eyes as he opened them as he breathed.

One black and the other bloodshot. I nodded as I gripped his shoulder and forced him back onto his stomach. He was slowly becoming stable, but another hermit's magic would make him feel better faster. I let out a sigh. I wish X was here... He'd know how to handle this. Wels shouldn't be in this state for so long.

Wels let out another quivering whine as he reached his hand out. Joe looked at him, " What's wrong Wels?" he questioned as Wels pointed to his back. He whimpered and clawed at it with his moveable arm.

Joe and I sat Wels up as he breathed heavily. His black eye coursed with black magic as he shook. I held onto Wels as Joe stood up, " Alright, don't try to wiggle too much, okay?" he questioned. Wels tiredly looked up at him. He blinked one eye at a time and made a tired noise.

I helped Joe as he lifted the black shirt off of Wels body. He visibly started to shake with a small whimper. I studied his backside and frowned. White and black spots have formed along his spine. The spots coursed up to his neck and down to his tailbone.

" That's odd..." I mumbled as I looked at the spots. I scanned the spots and leaned back slightly, " This is where his magic is the strongest, it seems." I looked between the scanner and Wels's back. Wels tried to look back, but he let out a whimper of pain.

Joe looked at him, " I'm going to call Cleo. She's online now, so it shouldn't take long." he told me with a nod. I frowned at him, " Don't tell her about what we went through. Let's just say that we got attacked by a hoard of creepers, and Wels got made while protecting us." I explained. Joe gave me a heavy frown, but he nodded and stuck his earbud into his ear as he left the room.

I put on some gloves and observed the dots.

The white ones; light magic. From what I understand from X, Light magic includes changes to one's physical body without causing pain or mind alterations. This includes genderswapping, some instances of deaging, bodyswapping, and some cases of hybridization.

The black ones; dark magic. This magic included the magic from the nether... Tango, and TFC for some reason, knew about this magic type. Dark magic's field includes deaging of both the mind and body, transformation, mind control, and possession.

" Food..." Wels slurred out as he tried to get up. I put my gloved hands on his bare shoulders and forced him to remain seated. Opening up my inventory, I brought out a thing of steak. Wels wearily took and started to gnaw on it.

We remained like this until Joe came back. He turned off his communicator. Joe fixed his glasses, " Cleo will be by with her spell book in two shakes of a rabbit's tale." he smiled as he walked over. Wels stared at Joe with his bloodshot eye. He tried to move away with the food in his mouth, but his weakened body fell over onto the bed.

Wels curled up with the steak and kept eating it as the black and white spots forcibly glowed. He whined and wiggled as what looked like a tail grew out of his tailbone. Joe and I walked as the tail became the length of his leg. A brown and blond tuff formed on the end of the appendage. It looked like some blood was also on the tail now.

I tried to approach Wels, but his black eye swelled with magic as he dragged himself away. He stayed in the corner of the bed and stared at us. Joe lowered his shoulders, " Captain Cleo did some internal damage..." he muttered with a narrow of his eyes. I gave him a confused look. Joe explained how Wels's body was quivering, and how his body was arched forward as if he was protecting more than his food.

" 'm f....fine...." Wels sputtered as he fell over again. He let out a pained sound as he finally just curled up again. We stayed with Wels and waited for Cleo to arrive.

((Timeskip brought to you by wolftiger!Mighty licking Python's muzzle))

Cleo arrived with a small, leather book in her rotten fleshed hand. She looked at a now unconscious Wels, who we had wrapped up in a blanket.

" His body now has some broken spots...." Joe explained in a whisper. Cleo frowned as she opened her book, " I can get the excess magic out of him loves, but I can't heal him due to how severe his injuries look." she sighed. I looked at Wels again; the dried blood covered his body in random splotches alongside the magic spots.

The zombie hermit opened her blood and started to read her book in a slow, unknown language. Cleo raised her more bony hand towards Wels's body. The colored spots on Wels started to clear up as he hugged a dragon plushie that Joe gave to him.

Wels nuzzled the plush with a smile. Cleo continued to use her magic until the spots were completely closed up. Wels's continued to smile as his tail thumped on the ground. Cleo approached him and put her hand on his forehead.

" You two both know he's not going to be able to move for a few days, right?" Cleo questioned as we nodded. I took my gloves off and shoved my hands into my pockets, " It's better than him suffering, right?" I raised my eyebrow as she nodded.

Cleo gave Joe some medicine to give to Wels when he wakes up. The zombie ran her hand through Wels's messed up hair, " You two are going to have to clean up his  wounds." she told us. I looked at Joe, " You should head home Joe." I told him as I looked at my communicator, " According to this, Python is coming soon." I told him.

Joe nodded and approached me after Cleo left. The Southerner put his hand on the cut to his face, " Do you think she saw it...?" he questioned with a whimper. I shook my head, " No, you should see Tango though. He knows medicine." I told him as he nodded. I texted Tango and told him what happened.

" That... That explains a lot.... I'll see Joe soon. You make sure that you're okay though Pulse." Tango texted me back. I let out a sigh and quickly texted him back, " I'll be fine Tang! Just tell Zed that I'm home, alright?" Tango told me that he would and that was the end of our conversation.

I looked up and noticed that Joe was gone, and Python was here instead of him. Python looked at Wels's sleeping form and back at me, " I'll get him bandaged up and cleaned up... You look more dead than me." he told me with his tongue flickering.

I frowned, " Are you sure?" I questioned as I looked at Wels. Python nodded as he leaned forward, " Trust me on this Impulse...." he told me as he scratched as his bearded snout. I stood up and nodded.

" Goodnight Welsknight." I told the sleeping body as Python sat down next to him. My whole body was tired as I walked towards the nether portal. When I got home, I took my shoes off and collapsed onto my bed. I didn't even bother to change into my pajamas as I fell into an exhausted slumber.
