your favorite conspiracy
adam: the 27 club
- you and adam find this conspiracy to be so interesting
- if you don't know, the 27 club is a club of celebrities to have died from a number of different things, all at the age of 27
- this conspiracy originally came to light in the late 60s-early 70s when five rock stars all died at the same age of 27
- you and adam are obsessed with researching this one
- y'all's (i'm sorry i'm from texas and i literally can't think of any other word than y'all) minds are completely boggled by the idea that SO many celebrities have died at the same age
- you two are convinced it's a conspiracy because a member of the club, amy winehouse had expressed a fear of dying at that age
- you and adam even managed to make a presentation in class about it (which you got an 'a' on)
- notable members include: jonathan brandis (who did not leave a suicide note, which you both find suspicious), kurt cobain, jimmy hendrix, jim morrison, and many others.
charlie: jonbenet ramsey's murder
- you and charlie have spent hours talking about this
- you've both come to the conclusion that the brother did it
- but the parents covered it up
- at first charlie didn't believe you when you told him your theory
- he wasn't interested in the conspiracy
- but you made him watch a documentary and he got so invested
- you two have spent a countless amount of time looking into documentaries and interviews about her murder
- you even compared notes afterwards, getting into real and deep discussions over this
- you both don't understand why there would be a ransom note if jonbenet's body was in the basement the whole time. it makes no sense.
- the ransom note case from her own mother's stationary, and you two find that suspicious as hell
- the ransom note is also unusually long, its two and a half pages, and you better believe you and charlie read the whole thing
- also the father moving the body and contaminating the crime scene is incriminating in itself
dean: the mandela affect
- you and dean wholeheartedly believe in this one
- dean's exact words were: "i would know if my boxers didn't have a cornucopia on them"
- this, of course, was in reference to the fruit of the loom logo, which everyone agrees had a cornucopia on them. but they don't.
- you were skeptical at first, thinking the brands were just changing their logo
- but when dean showed you that there was no proof of both of the logos existing at the same time, you started to believe
- you guys would spend an unnecessary amount of time looking through logos
- the one that really trips you out is the fact that the monopoly man has never had a monocle
- you don't believe that for a second, and you and dean are fully convinced you now live in a parallel universe
guy: avril lavigne has been replaced
- guy is the one who told you about this one
- he's an avril stan, let's face it
- so he would know if she had been replaced
- and he concluded that she had
- he told you all the facts
- avril had hired melissa vandella, a look alike, to confuse her paparazzi
- he's shown you comparison pictures of avril then and avril now, and they look like completely different people
- the story is: avril died in 2003 and management hired melissa to pretend to be her, because she was so popular they couldn't let her fame die with her
- there is even a publicity shot of avril with the name melissa written on her hand
- you and guy are completely convinced
- and don't think you guys don't believe in the other cloning/replacing theories of celebrities, because you do
- but avril is the one that sparks the most passion
- guy used to rock out to her and he wants to know if it's the same avril as he always loved
luis: elvis didn't die in 1977
- you were the one who initially told luis about this
- luis was never one to do extensive research on anything
- so he never looked into the possibility that elvis faked his death
- but once you told him about it, he believed you
- he didn't know much about cardia arrhythmias (elvis' cause of death) but from his research he concluded those can't be found on autopsy report
- and it's even more damning that his own middle name is misspelled on his tombstone (aaron instead of aron)
- and, to add insult to injury, you two also believe he was a federal agent who got taken into witness protection
- you've looked into all the 'elvis spottings' and found them inconclusive, but that doesn't mean you don't believe
- it's all too shady for you guys
kenny: courtney love killed kurt cobain
- now, adam and kenny have had multiple arguments about this
- mainly because this one debunks adam's favorite theory (the 27 club)
- but kenny convinced you of this one because of the fact that one of the investigators concluded that courtney had actually written part of his suicide note
- the handwriting matched hers and kenny didn't understand how this was possible
- and neither did you
- and that sparked y'all's interest in the conspiracy
- it's also notable to you guys that kurt died of a gunshot wound to the head, but the toxicology report shows so much heroin in his system that him shooting himself seems implausible
- plus, while you two haven't exactly tested the logistics, shooting yourself with a shotgun seems particularly daunting
dwayne: the moon landing was faked
- dwayne doesn't believe this one as quickly as you do
- but once you show him videos of the flag waving and shadows that shouldn't be visible, he's convinced
- to be fair, he didn't know that wind didn't blow in space
- that was something you had to tell him about
- though, he still didn't fully grasp the concept of an atmosphere, which is something that worried you for his future
- and while neither of you fully understood rocket science, you both were pretty sure the technology was lacking in the sixties
- the team is way against this one with you guys, and have started referring to you two as 'the spaced out couple'
- a clever pun, but you both recognize that they're basically calling you guys dumb
- but it doesn't stop you guys from believing in this long running theory
jesse: the simpson's predict the future
- you and jesse came across this together while working on something for a sociology class
- and what you guys found blew your minds
- the simpsons had predicted too many things for it to all be a coincidence
- at first jesse was skeptical, because of course he was
- he had only recently learned to trust his brother terry, so he couldn't just wholeheartedly believe a conspiracy theory
- but as you two continued to delve into the evidence
- it made a believer out of him
- they predicted things like 9/11, autocorrect, the presidency of he who shall not be named, and much more
- they even predicted the ebola breakout
- there was way too much evidence, it even left jesse speechless
- you guys talk about this often
- and you worry that they've predicted stuff that hasn't happened yet
- which leads to cryptic viewings of the simpson's episodes through the wee hours of the night
