Nothing is Free
And, after a little time to grieve, he got to work, and never stopped. Eating was a distraction, sleep was for the dead. Any hint he had with bringing his boy back, he took and ran with it.
Tony enjoyed the distraction of work. It kept him from wondering about everything. And everything he could've done differently. When he slept, he didn't dream at all, he was so exhausted.
But, eventually, it happened. With everyone's knowledge, Stark had pieced together how to undo the damage. And so, it was done.
People started coming back immediately, dust stirring them back together in a daze. Tony turned on the suit tracker, seeing as how everyone was back in the clothes they were lost in.
Beep...beep...
C'mon kid.
Location found.
Not waiting for anyone else, Tony Stark took off with a spring in his step. This was it. He could finally see Peter again; tell him all the things he never got to. His mind was racing with thoughts as he got ever closer.
Back on Titan, the billionaire looked around in a panic, holding the now empty mask. "Kid?!", he shouted, flying higher for a better look.
Boss, I have found heat signatures. Friday informed, screen identifying the location.
"There you are.", he thought aloud, though in a lighthearted sense, as if they were playing hide and seek.
And sure enough, one of them was the boy he had done all of this for. Stark smiled and landed next to him, pulling back his head. "Hey Peter.", Tony greeted excitedly, pulling the teen up.
It was obvious something was wrong. The kid looked scared, confused. "Where am I? What's going on?", he asked, though in a mutter. "Who are you?", Parker asked, now turned towards Tony.
Realization hit the man's face. Stark's eyes widened slightly.
"Who's Peter?"
