Happy Little Ohana

So, this is what caused Tony to have those dreams about kids.

The two sleeping forms clung to each other on the couch, TV quietly playing in the background. Tony had an arm wrapped around Peter's shoulders, while the boy slept against the man's chest. The two looked so peaceful; a smile grew across Pepper's face. After everything that happened the past few months, seeing her fiance so content, happy, satisfied...

It lifted some weights off her shoulders. One less problem to deal with.

Now for the other 99.

Pepper subconsciously yawned, realizing how late it was. Deciding against making them go to the actual beds, the businesswoman silently went to Tony and her room. It was a beeline to the bed, where she passed out from exhaustion. Work had been rough, and having to cover for the face of the company had not helped any.

Still, having the sun as her alarm rather than a million notifications was nice. Pepper felt refreshed, admittedly. It didn't take her long to get ready and walk into the common room, doing a double take at the sight of Peter cooking breakfast. He was staring at the stovetop in concentration, completely oblivious to Pepper's presence. The same smile from beforehand came back, not wavering as the woman cleared her throat.

"Oh! Hi Mo-Ms. Potts...?", Peter greeted uncertainly, tone asking for confirmation. Blinking back the pride and shock tears that almost fell for the name was almost said. Nonetheless, Pepper gave a tight smile and slightly nodded. The teen repeated the gesture and looked back at the stove. The gravy was bubbling in the pan, thickening slowly.

"What's this?", the woman inquired, gesturing to the slightly messy kitchen. Peter gave her an awkward smile. "Uhh, breakfast? Just, as, like, a thank you. For everything.", the teen admitted, shooing her out of the way when a timer went off. Chuckling slightly, she made herself a cup of coffee and took a seat. It wasn't every day she got to witness Peter in full-on focus, where no one could disturb him. Completely wrapped within the work, the teen seemed to shut himself in, getting the task at hand complete. Like father like son.

Speaking of the devil, the freshly cleaned man took an exaggerated breath when he entered the room. Pepper rolled her eyes while the teen gave a light chuckle. Tony, wearing a grin, swiftly took a biscuit off the tray and sat down next to Pepper. The sounds of approval made the boy glow with pride as he got everything ready to serve. "You know you didn't have to do this, right?", Tony commented from his seat.

"Well, it's a thank you. For....well....everything. And I know that it's not nearly enough, but it's a start right?", Parker explained, chuckling a little to himself at his response. Tony pursed his lips slightly, simply pulling the teen in for a side hug before he could sit down. "Peter, you simply being here is more than enough. But if it makes you feel any better, you're welcome.", the man mumbled into Peter's temple before letting go.

Not gonna lie, the time it took for Pepper to get that kind of affection in comparison to Peter could almost make her jealous. But, this kind of relationship wasn't unwelcomed in the slightest. If the happy little family eating breakfast around the table had anything to go by, at least.

Of course, it was only momentarily. Pepper's phone blew up again, causing a roll of the eyes. She didn't have that customized do-not-disturb function Tony did. What did he call it? Peter-Mode?

The CEO of Stark Industries gave her soon-to-be husband a kiss and surrogate step-son a light ruffle before striding off to her office. However, that day, a little smile refused to leave her face.
