Chapter 17
WARNING: ATTEPTED SUICIDE (will be putting in warnings later)
Two Days Later. . .
Tubbo sat in the living room, eyes watching the light flurry outside as his green eyes clouded over. It had been quiet for a while, Micheal and Ranboo leaving to visit Puffy. They had asked him to come along with them, but he was tired, and plus he wanted to stay with Tommy anyways.
Tommy didn't talk anymore, at least not to Tubbo, always shooting angry or sad glares towards him. He knew why the white-haired male was acting that way, but he also knew it was for the best as well. He could be the bad guy if it meant keeping Tommy safe. So he sat in the living room alone, Tommy most likely in his room sleeping like he usually was. Tubbo still had custody over the male, so he still lived with him. Something he knew Tommy wished he didn't have to do.
The Minecraft family had tried to talk to Tommy a few times, Tubbo doing little to stop them anymore, but Tommy still refused to speak to anyone and would lock himself in his room to get away from them.it was sad seeing Tommy act like this, going back to his emotionless state and mute self. He had thought Tommy was getting better, but now he really was like a walking corpse. Tubbo was letting his eyes lazily close before a pained scream filled the house. He jumped, green eyes becoming aware and ears flickering forward. With little thinking he got out of his chair and started running to Tommy's room.
He skidded to a stop in front of the others door, quickly knocking as more screams left the room. Tubbo wanted to break the door down but he didn't know what was happening, if he was having a panic attack it would be best if he didn't barge in and scare him more.
And so, Tubbo did the next best thing he could think of. "TOMMY?! ARE YOU OK?!" A sob followed his question. Worry settled in Tubbo's stomach, his hand going for the door knob to open the door only to find it locked. Filled with fear, Tubbo quickly backed up and threw his weight into the door. He heard the door splinter when he did and repeated his movements again, and again, and finally the door flung open.
Tubbo gasped at the sight, Tommy curled up in the corner of the room, a bloody knife in front of him, and his arms littered with bleeding wounds. Tubbo was stunned for a moment, letting his brain process what he was seeing before rushing forwards.
He quickly kicked the knife away before kneeling down in front of Tommy. The white-haired male looked up, his pinpricked eyes glossy as he cried. It must have registered with Tommy who it was because his eyes quickly widened. "NO! G-GO AWAY!" Tommy said, shoving himself further into the corner.
It hurt Tubbo that Tommy wanted nothing to do with him, but at the same time he knew why Tommy was so angry at him. Tubbo had killed Dream, someone Tommy was dependent on. Tommy had cared for Dream, even if Tubbo knew it was so twisted and wrong that Tommy cared for his abuser he was sure Tommy was mourning the fact Dream was gone. Tubbo ignored Tommy's words and pulled Tommy closer to himself, looking over the wounds on his arms. They were stab wounds, deep and still bleeding profusely. This made Tubbo start panicking quicker. He knew he needed to stay calm though, for Tommy's sake.
Quickly a question filled his mind, were these the emotion overloads that the journal talked about? With a flick of his hand a healing potion showed up, and Tommy went wild quickly trying to push his way out of Tubbo's hold. "NO! YOU KEEP YOUR POTIONS AWAY FROM ME!" It hurt Tubbo that Tommy was so angry at him, but he also knew his hate for potions too. He's had many shoved down his throat, something he was forced to take with little option. Tubbo had hoped he wouldn't have to do that anymore.
"Tommy please! I'm trying to help!" Tommy glared towards him, pinprick eyes holding everything but kindness. "It's a healing potion, it'll heal your arms and stop the bleeding." Tommy pushed away again, a pathetic whine leaving his lips.
"I don't want them to heal!" Tubbo's eyes widened at his confession, his grip on Tommy growing tighter. "Just let me die!" Tommy's voice was full of pain as he spoke, and Tubbo couldn't help the fear that filled his body by the second.
"NO!" The words left his mouth before he could stop them, and once again Tommy started sobbing, tears running down his face with little show of stopping.
"WHY! JUST LET ME DIE!"
"I CAN'T LET YOU DIE BECAUSE I CARE ABOUT YOU TOMMY!" The room fell silent, Tommy staring back towards the now teary-eyed goat hybrid with a questioning gaze, even if he was still sobbing profusely with globs of tears running down his face. Tubbo felt his heartbreak a little more at his current state, holding back tears that wanted to escape. "I'm sorry this is happening to you, I'm sorry that I killed Dream, but it was for your own good!" The white-haired male looked away, calming down some and sniffling as his body shook in Tubbo's grip. "He wasn't a good person, Tommy. He did bad things to you and other people... He... I'm sorry." Tommy curled in on himself, laying against Tubbo as if he was looking for comfort, and that's exactly what he got.
Tubbo sat the potion down next to them, pulling Tommy closer to hug him. He didn't care about the blood at the moment, and he could care less if he looked pathetic crying as he held his best friend. They stayed like that for a long time, Tommy even hugging the goat hybrid back sometime during the silence. "Please... take the potion." After a few moments of silence, the usually mute male lifted his shaky hand, indicating for Tubbo to give him the bottle. He did so, watching as Tommy brought the potion to his lips to drink.
Relief filled him once Tommy handed him the empty bottle, squeezing Tommy in a hug before making sure the wounds would close. They scarred over, adding onto the horrid collection of scars Tommy possessed, but at least he wasn't bleeding out now. "Thank you." With a shaky nod Tommy turned away from him, holding himself.
Tubbo let go of Tommy, picking up the bloody knife instead. He stood up ready to leave after a few seconds of collecting himself, but Tommy quickly grabbed Tubbo's wrist stopping the goat hybrid's movements. "Please don't leave me." His voice was small as he spoke, but Tubbo heard it. He looked back, his eyes meeting Tommy's sad ones. "I don't want to be left alone right now." With a sad smile Tubbo nodded, setting the knife up on the desk nearby before sitting on the floor again. Once he sat down Tommy curled up into his side again, the still sniffling man's eyes closing slowly. With a sigh Tubbo let his own eyes flutter close, maybe a nap would be good for him anyways.
That Night...
When Ranboo got home, he expected Tubbo to come out to welcome them home like he usually would. But Tubbo didn't, which made Ranboo believe he was asleep. So after Putting Micheal to bed for the night he went to their room expecting to see a passed-out Tubbo, only to be met with an empty bed. This confused Ranboo even more, seeing as Tubbo never left the house without leaving a note or messaging him to tell him he was leaving.
So now he was looking in the other rooms for his missing husband. Eventually he got to Tommy's room, the door looked like it was broken now, the thing off one of the hinges. Something that Ranboo would have to fix later.
Walking into the dark room he saw two figures in the back corner, and so he walked closer towards it. It was Tubbo and Tommy, both soundly sleeping holding the other tightly, their heads leaning on one another and eased expressions etched onto their faces. The ender hybrid couldn't help the smile that formed on his face at the sight, memories of when they would hang out forming in his mind.
On multiple occasions, Tubbo and Ranboo had Tommy stay over at their big mansion. They usually would stay up and hang out, play some card games and playfully poke at one another. But he also remembered the many other times he walked into the living room and found Tubbo and Tommy sleeping, hugging one another as they did. It was always cute seeing their close friendship with his own eyes. Ranboo even wished that Tommy could be close like that one day, and in a way he had achieved his goals... before he died.
He hoped to be able to build their relationship again, and even if that may be hard with Tommy's situation, he planned to help him recover much like the others on the server. Many on the server were relieved when they heard that Dream was dead, a worry they had for a year finally resolved. They also finally let the rest of the server know about Tommy being alive, Tubbo shooing away anyone that tried to see the poor young adult. His... family... had tried to visit a few times, but every time it never ended well for them and they ended up leaving without talking to Tommy again. But they never stop, always trying to talk to him.
With a tired sigh, he knelt down and wrapped his arms securely around Tommy, lifting the white-haired male from the ground to put to bed. He laid him down, pulling the soft woolen blanket over the sleeping male before turning to Tubbo. He sighed, picking the goat hybrid up just like Tommy, but this time made his way out of Tommy's room. He stopped when he looked down towards the sleeping goat to see him covered in blood. He paled, his eyes widened before he laid the smaller down in the hallway.
"T-Tubbo?" He shook him awake quickly, watching as his foggy green eyes opened with a tired groan. He curled in on himself as if he was trying to go to bed again, but Ranboo quickly started shaking his husband again. "Tubbo, don't fall asleep please... W-why are you covered in blood?" Tubbo perked up at this, forcing his eyes open before sitting up, looking down at his bloody shirt for a long moment.
"Tommy... He... tried to kill himself I think..." Ranboo held his breath as he heard those words leave Tubbo's mouth, head turning to stare at Tommy's door. "I managed to get him to drink a health potion before he bled out." Ranboo was relieved hearing that, turning back to Tubbo.
"Okay, that's good." With a smile he continued. "Why don't you get ready for bed? I'll go and wake Tommy up." Tubbo slowly nodded before standing, walking towards their room to probably take a shower and go to bed.
With this new information he got up himself to head to Tommy's room once again. He flicked the light on first, finally seeing the state Tommy was in. From what Ranboo could see blood was even covering Tommy's face. Ranboo felt bad, walking carefully into the room and gently shook the sleeping male awake. Like Tubbo, Tommy hated being forced awake and quickly started batting Ranboo's hand away.
"Tommy, you need to get up." Slowly the white-haired male opened his dull pin-like eyes, "I'm sorry, I know you're probably really tired, but you're... covered in blood... so I think you should take a shower first." Tommy slowly nodded at Ranboo's words, already moving to leave his bed. With that taken care of he looked towards the corner to see blood covering the floor, now dry and sure to stain. He sighed, his mismatched eyes catching the sight of a blood-stained knife on his desk. He walked over as Tommy sluggishly left, grabbing the knife before making his way to the kitchen.
He plopped the knife into the sink, too tired to actually wash it at the moment. He'd have to replace the flooring too, which wouldn't be too much trouble... and then there was the door. Ranboo sighed, leaning against the counter as he let his tired eyes slip closed. It has been a rollercoaster since he was revived, and he wanted it to pause for one moment so he could catch his breath. He didn't know how long he was sitting there like that, but eventually Tubbo showed up, hugging the taller from behind.
"Sleep?" Ranboo's eyes fluttered open, turning around to hug the goat hybrid back. He buried his face in Tubbo's curly hair, closing his eyes once again as the comforting silence took over. "I have Tommy sleeping on the couch tonight... we can fix his room up tomorrow right?" Ranboo gave a hum of agreement. With a chuckle Tubbo backed up, grabbing Ranboo's hand before dragging him out of the kitchen. "Let's get some sleep, we both need it."
The ender hybrid couldn't help but smile at Tubbo, even if his husband couldn't see him do so. He had missed him, missed his life before he died. It was nice to have it back, and so what it had a little more chaos in it than normal? This was his family, even if it was a crazy adventure after another. He'd never give it up for anything.
