Chapter Nine

Abigail sat in the dungeon in Midnight's palace. While for the past two days everyone had been celebrating Midnight's birthday. Guess everyone forgot it was her birthday too. The cobble floors that were dirty and dusty had cakes drawn over it. "Happy Birthday Abigail." Abigail wept to herself ignoring the hissing and burning of her flesh. She was regretting everything she had done. She deserved to be forgotten on her birthday, and she deserved to rot in this cell. The chains holding her to the wall melted. She stood up and held her arms out to her sides, a huge explosion of fire rocketed down the halls of the dungeon. As the cell door swung open Abigail teleported to the ballroom where everyone partied. She had to stay low hiding her face she went to the refreshment table. "Excuse me?" Said a small voice Abigail looked down to see Aaron holding a plate up. "Could you get me a cupcake?" He asked politely Abigail smiled a bit and nodded. "Sure thing." She said to him taking his plate grabbing a cupcake, the moment she touched it the cupcake became burned and charred. Abigail gasped and dropped the cupcake. Aaron giggled wildly at her Abigail sheepishly looked at the floor. "Sorry that happens when my emotions are out of whack." Aaron nodded understandingly, "Don't worry that's why I asked you to help me get the cupcake it would have been crispy from me too." He laughed Abigail smirked but then noticed people suspiciously watching her. Most likely trying to think if she was suppose to be in the dungeons still or not. Panicked Abigail got him a new cupcake and handed it to him. "Look us meeting has to be our secret okay?" She whispered, "Okay." Agreed Aaron hugging her leg. Abigail rubbed his back happily, "If you ever want to see me again, go to the forest you'll find a castle about a few miles into the forest." Aaron beamed and nodded as he went to say something all that was in front of him were red particles of smoke. Aaron confused looked around wondering where his friend had gone, he shrugged and simply returned to his Mother's birthday party.

(Abigail's POV)

"What am I to do?" I muttered appearing back at my castle as my parents waited for me. "Your just like your dad was it that easy for you, to escape all those hybrids?" Asked Scarlett once I walked into the throne room where Emily was cleaning and my parents were waiting. "It's not hard to escape them." I replied flipping through my spell books and reading them as usual. "Oh it just seemed intense when they took you." Piped up The Blaze King. "It was intense I'm
just done fighting." I answered plopping onto my throne, continuing my spell book reading. "Do you really hate being what you are?" Asked Scarlett, they obviously had figured out a few things while I had been gone. Emily must have told them a few things crap...I sighed shamefully looking at the floor. "Yes." Was all I said, Scarlett tilted her head. "Why?" She asked once more. As I was just about to reply to her a horrible pain shot through me. I let out a cry of pain and fell to the floor. Scarlett rushed to me worried as she rolled me over to face her, and the expression on her face was full of worry and fear. My Father picked me up and in the mirror I could see half my face, it was the face of a blaze. "What's happening to me?" I thought as another pain much worse then the first, shot through me with more intensity.
