Chapter 6

(Blossomshine POV)

I raced aback down the steep mountain, the cut on my side burning from me stretching my skin as I sprinted. My throat burned from the frigid air drying it out along with my mouth. The camp cave came into my sight and I tripped over my own paws. I tumbled down the rocky slope and fell flat on my back. Some warriors must have heard because cats started filing out.

A murmuring crowd formed around me, every cat stood over me curious to see what has happened. When Turtleleaf pushed through the crowd, I was relieved. He made every cat step back and he led me to the leaders den.

"What happened!?" Turtleleaf questioned me. "And where's Splashclaw!?!?"

"I... And then he.... And I...." I stumbled, trying to find the right words. I swallowed, spit wetting my bone dry mouth. "He was attacked before he could get his lives." I admitted through tears. "An unknown black cat attacked us in the dark and I think he goes by the name of Storm."

Turtleleaf looked at his paws thoughtfully. "There's something I've been meaning to discuss with you." He stated, climbing into his feather-lined nest. My mind swirled with confusion, thoughts and fear.

"W-What is it?" I asked uneasily.

He looked up into my eyes and I momentarily got lost in his deep brown eyes. I shook my head, my ears slapping against the side of my small head.

"I think it's a prophecy." He stated.

"A prophecy?" I echoed, confusion plastered obviously on my face.

"Night is always seen as the dark side of the moon, but this time the shadows will save us soon, from the feline with the rain in her name, to which the memory all cats will retain. However, before the peace has lain, a clan with a bitter grudge shall bring forth unbearable pain." Turtleleaf stated, his eyes staring off into the distance, as if he was staring at the prophecy itself. I flicked him with my small tail tip and he flinched back to reality.

"What do you think it means?" He asked hopefully.

"I-I don't know." I admitted. "But I'm really shaken up right now. Maybe I'll be able to answer that tomorrow." I shook my head in an attempt to slow my sleepily drooping eyes, but all it did was ruffle my fur and remind me of my drowsiness.

The moment I exited the leader's caves many cats eyes shot to me, blazing with curiosity. Many of the cats that were gathered asked me frantic questions, but I ignored them, tiredness shoving it's way into all of my muscles. My paws felt more like heavy stones than small, graceful paws.

I slowly made it over to my den and to my nest by the herb storage. With a huff and a long, relieved sigh, I flopped down in my soft nest and curled into a tight, relaxed ball of grey fur. Darkness instantly swept over me and I quickly fell asleep.

//Dreamland//

I wobbled around on a steep, icy, snow-covered mountainside. Wild snow blew through the air, making it almost impossible to see more than a fox-tail in front of you. My nose wiggled and my whiskers twitched as I tried to find a way out of the blinding white snowstorm.

Suddenly, a dark, eerie cave opened in the mountain in front of me. I slowly and cautiously padded into the hole, squinting my eyes so I might be able to see any possible danger or obstacles in my path. With no luck, I continued on. The walls on either side of my body slowly became closer together until I could barely squeeze through. The cave walls suddenly evened out and I continued to walk along.

An eerie dim light started to filter into tunnel and helped me see the slightest bit. A short turn was up ahead of me and the floor started to slope downward. I went around the turn and ended up in a small cavern. Large stone claws shot up from the ground and hung from the ceiling in a way that looked like they were reaching for each other. The light was slightly brighter here, but it seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere, all at once.

I sat down by one particularly huge claw and examined it closely. A few small indents were in the sides and it looked very sharp at the top. Like a cats claws... I thought. Sharp and deadly. I stood up and turned around.

"WHAAA!!!" I yowled as I saw a white tom with brilliant green eyes and two of his paws were a grey-ish blue. His pelt seemed to be dappled with bright dots that sparkled and shone. "S-S-Splashclaw?" I meowed in astonishment.

The star-dappled tom nodded his head. "It's me." He smiled widely at me as I stood, confused.

"B-But how?!" I exclaimed and the sound reverberated off the cave walls many times before finally stopping and waiting for more sounds to make echoes out of.

"I am with Starclan now." Splashclaw stated simply. "Come." He stood and started weaving through the large claws, his white tail tip swished and swung as we walked and the sounds of our paw steps softly echoed. It wasn't until we got to the tunnel leaving the cavern that I noticed that I was holding me breath. 'Breathe. He's with Starclan now and he's just—'

"It's a tight squeeze here," He cut off my thoughts. "but it gets wider from here." His white, starry figure dove through the small exit and I quickly followed, hoping I wouldn't lose him. 'Whew.' I thouhght. 'I can still barely see his tail.'

As we walked down the tunnel, an eerie silence fell around us. The only sound was the soft pad of our paws as they touched down on the hard, bare, cold, grey rock. Soon, I could see light overhead and realization finally swept over me. 'We're going back out into the snowstorm....'

To my dismay, we exited the now wider tunnel into bright, lively, green, sunny fields. "What?" I gasped quietly in surprise. "But... How can... What!?"

"We're in Starclan now." He answered calmly as though he'd be asked this question many times before. "Follow me." With that, he was on his was again, padding up over a hill and into a large camp.

The camp was huge and filled with many white dotted cats. As he led me through the mass of cats, I I gazed around the camps in amazement. Cats from all three clans were here... So many deceased cats. With some cats, they looked as though they had only just came here, while you could only faintly see the outlines of others. They all chatted calmly, acting as though a live cat wasn't even there. Even the cats that were merely outlines had strong, powerful voices.

Splashclaw led me to a less crowded corner in the camp. A creepy wall of mist stood bravely by my side as I sat down. I couldn't help but stare at it during the short silence between the two of us. "I have to tell you something." He stated strongly. "I know you've already heard it, but listen closer this time."

The starry cat cleared his throat before beginning to speak again, his voice low but clear and strong. "Night is always seen as the dark side of the moon, but this time the shadows will save us soon, from the feline with the rain in her name, to which the memory all cats will retain. However, before the peace has lain, a clan with a bitter grudge shall bring forth unbearable pain." He prophesied slowly. As I thought about it, the large camp around my started to disappear.

"What!? No!!" I howled as darkness fully engulfed the camp and everyone in it.

Long-ish chapter :D hope you enjoyed and can't wait for the next chappie! Bye now, my little sprinkles :3
