chapter twelve

ALLY AND SPENCER spent Friday afternoon rushing around, preparing for another generation of Virginia Police Academy graduates. Spencer was nervous because he was in charge of the speech, which normally only the head of the academy has the opportunity to give.

Ally was nervous because she didn't like the dress she had found after spending a long time in the mall. She wasn't looking for anything extravagant for this occasion; she planned to attend the graduation ceremony and then return to her apartment and order a pizza, possibly some Italian food, and a glass of wine. She was not interested in attending a graduation party at a nearby frat house.

Although her relationship with Spencer at the academy was professional, some people were offended when they discovered that Ally was the one who stayed after class almost every time. They were suspicious because the professor made time for her while in other situations always decided that the FBI had received a new case and needed to go to the field. The news also reached the academy's professors, who knew that these were all childish tricks and that a professional like Reid would not do something like this without considering how bad it would look in front of everyone.

Rumors also spread in sorority houses, where mostly slightly older than teenagres but still rude girls with a lot of self-esteem hung out. Despite being traded as one-off items between guys on weekends. Ally was aware of these facts about them, as well as the impact those negative stories would have on their future education. She kept those secrets safe in case she needed to flee from the shit.

Ally was not the type of person who would blackmail others for no reason. When she felt threatened, when her life was in danger, she did this. She went to the remaining lessons on a constant schedule and spent time alone because everyone looked at her with contempt and disgust. The nickname "Professor's Little Whore" was written on her locker in the locker room.

They were bitter and jealous of her because she was such an ordinary, withdrawn girl who had caught the eye of a handsome and young professor. Young professors are like alligator meat: everyone wants a piece, however there's not enough for everyone.

In Spencer's apartment, on the other hand, a serious conversation was taking place. Spencer sounded desperate over the phone when he asked Penelope Garcia for advice, so she came to him as soon as she could. His coworker was delighted to assist, bringing a couple of decorative bags and a bouquet of tulips.

"As much as I adore you, that tie doesn't match your suit, and your hair should be up a little, otherwise it will fall over your forehead and blind you with sweat. We're going to die of heat at that show because the sun is scorching outside ", he is left to his own devices. They come to a halt while rummaging through his drawers.

"The ties are in there," he said, pointing towards the other dark green closet. Penelope is surprised to see how many things he actually owns, yet she keeps seeing him in the same outfits. "I'm guessing you won't be wearing a jacket. That's brilliant; it's warm outside, and you'd look better in a light blue shirt with gray trousers and a tie "She bosses him around while he wonders if that's what he wants, but knowing her, she'll make him wear what she says.

He entered the bedroom, suit in hand, to change. Nobody knew it was the fifth time he had changed his outfit for the day. His coworker was correct; it's far too hot outside for a full suit. Otherwise, the sweat stains would send it to the laundromat.

"How come you, Spencer Reid, are asking me for help with your girlfriend, those two of you are really close from those messages - ", the mere mention of those messages makes her feel ashamed, so he cuts her off in the rest of the sentence, saying she should never have done that to see. He was still angry at her, but he didn't have many options.

"I'm asking for help because I'm not sure how to act in front of everyone, how to give her flowers while remaining formal. I don't want her to be a source of contention during field training because of our relationship ", he explained, causing Penelope to think for a while before arriving at a satisfactory solution.

"Your classes have nothing to do with field training, she's not a minor to cause a problem, and for the rest, no one but the students will pay attention to you two," she tries to sound optimistic for him, his body tense because he didn't know how to behave in public while with her.

Spencer and Penelope drove separately to the police academy. Kevin, Penelope's boyfriend, turns out to be in charge of some computer work at the ceremony. She didn't want to miss out on going outside the office, and she also didn't want to miss out on seeing her coworker's mysterious girlfriend.

Despite the fact that the traffic jam delayed them for ten minutes, they both arrived on time. Penelope was the crazy driver, while Spencer followed the rules. He didn't risk an accident because he was a few minutes late; everyone is late for such events.

The academy's courtyard had been decorated, with rows of black plastic chairs. There were hundreds of chairs, and they were quickly filling up. On the stage, a large panel of black textiles stood up, and the American flag was spread across the entire screen. And in the center stood the names of the graduates of the current generation.

Ally thought it was all a bit much, but she didn't want her bad taste to ruin the mood. She seemed pleased with herself for making it this far; she should complete physical training by September and then look for work. Her life was finally moving at its own pace, unlike when she first arrived here a few years ago.

She stepped aside, holding her dress so she could see where she was going. She didn't want to trip over the excess material and draw attention to herself. That would be the biggest blunder of the year; perhaps it would be better if she did that, as it would divert attention away from her and Spencer's story.

Ally was becoming more nervous; she hadn't seen any familiar faces yet, despite the fact that she'd only been here for twenty minutes. She had already left three messages for Spencer, but when he did not respond, she left a fourth message that was :

Since I'm not wearing a bra, I'm not feeling very confident in this dress. I have a feeling my tits will flash up the whole place. - Her message was not intended to elicit a reaction from him; they were in a public place, and it would be bad for them.

She moved around freely, peering out to make sure he hadn't already arrived and that someone had stopped him. Finally, she noticed his voluminous hair, which bounced to the beat of his walk.

He smiled as she gave him a brief wave. But he had to pause to say goodbye to his local authority colleagues; it would be impolite to rush to her right away.

Ally could hear the crunching of shoes approaching her. Someone was on his way to meet her, and it was a guy from her criminology class. They exchanged notes five months ago, but they didn't talk after that because they passed each other everywhere. He wasn't her type, despite having a crush on her since his first semester here.

"West! We completed it, and it is now final."He greeted her by raising his fist. He sounded overjoyed, which she found repulsive because it was forced happiness.

She punches him back and laughs at his words, saying thoughtfully, "Yes, we really did it." She appeared to be completely detached from Sam, so much so that she didn't notice he was staring at her. Spencer was far enough away to notice his girlfriend was being subjected to the man's pitiful stare. Before approaching Ally and the unknown boy, he apologized to one of the students.

He was filled with not only jealousy, but also fear that his actions would harm the one person he cared about the most. He approached Ally slowly from behind, not waiting for a chance to interrupt their unpleasant conversation.

"Her eyes are up here, on her face, and you're staring at her chest, which immediately causes you being a creep, asshole," Spencer says roughly, startling Ally when she hears him behind her. Sam resigned and promptly left their district. Ally moved her gaze to Spencer, who held a bouquet of her favorite flowers, tulips, in his right hand.

"Sorry, I had to say goodbye to everyone, but I noticed you right away. You're stunning, Ally ", he hands her a bouquet of flowers as he takes advantage of our proximity to say a few more words to Ally. "Your boobs look amazing; I'd like to take off your dress at the end of the evening and have them pleasantly greet me," the tension between her became unbearable. What happens to a man after a couple of days without sex? Drive him insane!

Ally can't help but notice other people's gazes on her as she tries to remain as cool and calm as possible. He moves away from Spencer, looking around to see who is staring at them. "Thank you for the compliment; I'm thinking about inviting you to my apartment after graduation," she says as she twirls a lock of her hair with her index finger like a movie star. "Of course, if you're not too busy, we'll be happy to see you when I get rid of this dress."

He looks at her, perplexed; he knows there will be a party following the graduation ceremony. "I'm not going because jealous girls will try to digg out my eye sockets because I'm your girl after all," he laughs at her joke, while Spencer frowns at the mention of violence.

"I'm thinking about ordering a carbonara and drinking wine, but that doesn't work by itself," Spencer finally agreed to drop by her apartment after the event. Ally still feels someone looking at her and notices a woman with colorful glasses.

"Penelope Garcia hacked into my phone. She must be restraining herself from staying there now, or she would hug and kiss you ", Spencer waved at her, and she smiled and blew us two kisses.

Spencer and Ally had split up a few minutes before the ceremony began. Ally was uncomfortable sitting next to a group of girls who were giggling and talking about Spencer. They did it on purpose, and she was aware of it.
One hour later, Ally was holding her diploma with a firm grip, waiting for Spencer to finish talking about the previous cases. They couldn't wait to get home and resume their personal touches and kisses. Even though they had a date two days ago, they both miss each other so much. They were head over heels in love.
