Namjoon would watch Yuri giggle.

Their bond just became stronger as the days passed, the wound from Namjoon's bite was healing properly, however, he made sure she'd not hurt herself again.

She was free-spirited, she didn't care about the world, so he had to stay in the shadows to protect her. Her questions just increased their heights as they grew close, and Namjoon couldn't help but answer them honestly.

Sir, is what she called him. He told her to, it seemed disrespect in her eyes to call someone so old from her by their name, and Namjoon was not at all comfortable with 'uncle', so he preferred sir.

However, he never treated her like a maid, she was like his own, someone he felt responsible for. Her safety became his first priority in no time, and he totally forgit about the harsh truth that would break her if she gets to know.

"Sir!" She called him, waving. He watched as she taught the wolf children how to make those crowns out of flowers, she told him there were no modern things for her to teach the children, so she preferred teaching them this.

"Yes?" He walked over to them, "Try this on!" She excitedly brought the flower crown to his face, he sighed, "Ms Yuri, it'll look absurd-" His eyes widened when she pulled his cloak over to her, putting the crown on his head.

"Ah, it'll fall over easily." The children whined, not feeling satisfied. "Then don't let it." Yuri interrupted, catching Namjoon's ears. "If it falls over easily, then don't let it, protect it. If you love something, then protect it by all means,"

The children were captivated by her statement, even Namjoon was. He never thought that this innocent soul could speak words of honor, but she did.

"What she said is right, keep your crown safe, protect it, be a good wolf." He said, they quickly nodded their heads in unison. "Put mine too!" One of the children urged, pushing her small hand towards Namjoon. "Mine too!" Another one popped, holding out his flower crown.

Slowly, they all crowded around Namjoon, pulling at his clothes and arms, leaning over his stomach and reaching to his head, "Okay, okay. Here." Namjoon sighed, bending his head over for everyone to out their crowns on.

But before that, he took Yuri's crown off and shoved it in his small pocket, catching no one's eyes. They quickly put their crowns on his head, smiling, giggling and clapping at their masterpieces.

"Happy now?" Namjoon asked, smiling at the children. They all nodded and cheered, "It's getting dawn, get to your homes quickly." He said, watching as they all ran off to their homes.

"You enjoy this?" Namjoon asked Yuri, getting up from the floor he was forced onto, a smile on his face. "I was just doing that for the children!" She whined, he laughed at her, before he stopped, sensing someone else's presence.

In no time, he ran behind Yuri, covering her with his cloak, she looked at him, who was already staring holes into Chan's eyes. "Having fun, soldier?" Chan smirked, Namjoon stood his ground, his arms hesitating to touch Yuri even a little.

"What do you want, Chan?" Namjoon asked with a stern voice, Chan laughed a little at his question. "Like I told you, the war is about to begin and we need a reliable commander to lead the soldiers, or the whole village will burn to shreds."

He spoke with more sincerity this time, "The choice is yours, whether you choose her, or the village." Chan spoke his mind, before disappearing into thin air. "What does he mean, sir?" Yuri pushed him a little to face him.

Namjoon's cold eyes met hers, and he gulped. "Nothing you should be aware of." He uttered, looking away. "No sir. He said to choose between her and the village, who's her?" She asked, a lump forming in Namjoon's throat.

"Nothing, just forget about it." He tried to move away from her, causing her to hold his hand, he growled. "Leave my hand at once, Yuri." He said with a low voice. "But-" He interrupted her with a yell, eyes turning red,

"I said let me go!"

He pulled his hand out of her hand with such force that she was pushed forward, "Sir-" He interrupted again, "Go home." He growled, shifting into his wolf form and running back in the woods.

She watched in pain, not understanding why he could not open up to her. She sighed, looking at the moon that was slowly surfacing the sky, before walking back in the house with a sting.

Namjoon shifted back into his human form when he was far enough for the village and her. He leaned against the tree, his hand going back to grip it furiously. His anger was getting out of control.

He didn't know what to do or say, she was innocent, he wasn't. His deeds weren't, he didn't deserve her love and care, that's what he though, he deserved nothing but death after all this.

He felt something, tears. He growled harder, a wolf never cries, that was his motto, but here he was, crying pathetically over nothing at all.

He figured that he cared about her deeply, but she couldn't be with him, he's a wolf, a monster under this human form.

You're an angel.

Her letter suddenly came into his head, and he stopped for a second, reminding himself how he helped her, and how she was always the only one to offer help to him.

He needed it, someone to care, someone to know. Yuri, he needed her.

"Yuri." He called, closing his eyes as he tried to hear or see what she was up to. He saw, her looking at the moon with a frown. He opened his eyes again, he knew he hurt her, and he's going to make it right.

He shifted into his wold form and ran, ran and ran until he was at his own doorsteps again. He shifted into his human form once again and walked inside, walking up to her room.

He silently opened the door and saw her, staring at the flower pot he gave her to grow. He took a deep breath and walked until he stood right behind her.

"Yuri." She flinched, gasping and turned back at him, and his eyes softened further when he saw the tears in her eyes, she was sad and heartbroken by him.

His hand reached up to wipe her tears,

And he smiled.
