In the Masked Writer part of this event, participants will submit stories that they have written to potentially win prizes and receive recognition. The stories must be in the following genres:

♡ Fanfiction
♡ Horror
♡ Paranormal
♡ Thriller
♡ Vampire
♡ Werewolf

Fanfiction is included because of the Masquerade Ball part of the event. It is recommended that participants in this genre also participate in the Masquerade Ball contest above with characters written about in the fanfiction entered.

All other genres are included because of their correlation to Halloween. The stories don't have to be based around Halloween, but they certainly can be! No other genres besides those listed are allowed in this contest. Your story may have other genres that fit with it, but it must have at least one of those listed.

As a special bonus, we have a prompt contest called Profectus Prompt Contest, where we have posted a new, Halloween-themed prompt. In this contest, you will write a short-story based on the prompt given. If you'd like to participate in that event as well, do check it out!
