⠀⠀CHECKMATE is an 8 membered South
      Korean girl group under MIDNIGHT
      ENTERTAINMENT. Using the game
      of chess as their inspiration, the name
      refers to a group of winners who will
      overcome boundaries and stereotypes to
      claim 'checkmate' over their competitors.
      The group are broken up into two sub-
      units, CM143 and CM342.

| name creates an enigma, conveying
| the endless possibilities.
