It seems to be a busy year for MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT as they announce their fourth debut of the year. The news was forced to come out earlier than intended thanks to the CHECKMATE members, MEI and RYUJIN accidentally revealing it on their instagram live.

Four days ago, the girls set up a live to communicate to their fans. They were saying their goodbyes, marking the end of the live, when two male voices could be heard entering the room. MEI was then heard saying 'shouldn't you be practicing instead of bothering us? you're supposed to be debuting soon' before the live ended. Though barely audible, fans picked up on this and it wasn't long until #MidnightNewBG was trending on twitter.

One day later, MIDNIGHT updated their website and social media pages announcing that there would be a 9 membered boy group debuting in the coming weeks who will be promoting under the name 'NEVERLAND'.

More information about the group is yet to be revealed but fans are already predicting who will be in the final lineup and what concept they will be having.

After the hype surrounding MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT's new boy group rose, the company fell silent with little to no information, leaving fans dry and wanting more.

The wait is finally over as MIDNIGHT reveals three of the members for the upcoming boy group through an interesting fashion. The boys were first introduced on the CHECKMATE youtube channel through a collab between the three new males (KYE, MINHO and JD) and two checkmate members, CELINE and SOOJIN.

KYE, formally known as YOON HYUNSUK, is the second oldest within the group. He has been revealed to be the visual, dancer and lead vocalist.

MINHO, full name being KANG MINHO, is the same age as the other two revealed trainees. His positions within the group are visual and main vocalist.

JD, formally known as KIM JONGDAE, is a familiar face to some fans as he acted as a replacement backup dancer for CHECKMATE in one of their special stages. He is the main rapper and dancer of the group.

Apparently leaving fans in the Sahara desert is MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT's favourite hobby for after revealing the first three members, there was another long wait for more information on NEVERLAND.

After what seemed like 20 years, two more boys were revealed and fans are speculating that it's the two on CHECKMATE's live that helped spoil the NEVERLAND debut in the first place. The were once again introduced through the CHECKMATE youtube channel through a collab between the two new males (JAEMIN and SAM) and two checkmate members, RYUJIN and MEI.

The wait is finally over as MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT have at long last revealed the final member of their new boy group, NEVERLAND.

As per usual, the final member, JAEWOOK, has been revealed on CHECKMATE's channel through a rather confusing collab. Although the performance video was performed by both JAEWOOK and CHECKMATE member, ENYO, the fans speculated that the voice singing the song did not belong to ENYO herself...

Two months after NEVERLAND's debut, MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT announced their comeback, scheduled for the 16th of March.

After the teaser photos got uploaded on their social media accounts, CEO JANG SOOVIN went to her Twitter to explain that the debut was originally planned to be released on Valentine's Day, hense the album's theme which circles around love and relationships, but it had to be pushed back due to the company being busy with IRENIC's debut and the other comebacks happening at that time.

NEVVIES seemed to be extra excited with the news since the day is set on JUNO's 22nd birthday and not long after, the hashtag JUNOBDAYPRESENT started trending as fans hope to give them their first win.

Not long after NEVERLAND's promotions with Good Guy had ended, it was reported that the two maknaes had already started filming for their debut... as actors!

The promotional photos for Twenty-Twenty, a slice-of-life webdrama, caught attention for his lead actor, NEVERLAND's JAEMIN.

JUNG JAEMIN is acting for the first time and fans are curious to watch his first project as Lee HyunJin, a young musician who brings changes to DaHee's life.

On the other hand, it was announced that JUNG SAM would be portraying SeoJun in the much anticipated drama, True Beauty. Fans were caught off guard by these news, as previous speculations claimed that his senior, JO GUNHO, would be the actor.

Yet, the majority of the audience agreed that SAM would be a better fit for the role and are now waiting to see how he will perform.

Two days ago, NEVERLAND posted a teaser photo on their official instagram account with the simple caption "COMING SOON". Fans were left with many questions and the post got flooded by confused comments, especially since there were only seven out of nine members in the photo.

The answer though, came out only this afternoon when members JAEWOOK, JD and MINHO went on a live to explain the situation.

The leader justified JAEMIN and SAM's absence, saying that they were too busy with their filming schedules in order to participate in this digital single, while JD added that the release was a last minute decision as the company had previously rejected the song.

MINHO said that the seven members insisted as they wanted to challenge themselves a bit further and actually came up with the song's concept on their own.

The live ended with theme telling NEVVIES to look forward to this release and support them.

While MIDNIGHT is busy with the preparations for their new girl group, a series of hints and teaser photos have started to get posted on NEVERLAND's official accounts from the start of the month.

Yet, unlike their first impression, fans found out that this wasn't actually a full member comeback, but rather the much awaited debut of NEVERLAND's LOST subunit, consisting of leader JAEWOOK, KYE, JD, YUSHAN and HYUNJUN.

The release is set on August 29th and the mini album will include 6 tracks.

FIRST MIDNIGHT LIGHTSTICK!

On August 30th, NEVERLAND's official fancafe posted the concept art for their 1st edition lightstick. In their statement it was noted that the 'NEVERLAND GUIDER' will be released on September 15th but until then it's available for pre-orders and will be priced at 48,000 KRW or 41 USD.

Although NEVERLAND is MIDNIGHT's fourth group to debut, their fans have been petitioning and continuously asking for an official lightstick, so the group has decided to make the release earlier than originally planned in order to show their gratitude to NEVVIES for supporting them so much up until now.

The 'NEVERLAND GUIDER' represents the fan's ability to guide the lost boys even through dark times, just like how the second star to the right guides Peter Pan to Neverland.

The lightstick is programmed to automatically connect to NEVERLAND's stages and sync with their songs while also interchange between four colours, a warm tone, a cool tone and the two official colours.

JUNG JAEMIN, the lead rapper and vocalist, was forced to take a two month hiatus shortly after the end of NEVERLAND's third EP promotions, due to a knee injury. Yet recently, it was confirmed that JAEMIN has left NEVERLAND.

A statement from MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT read:

"First of all, we sincerely thank fans who show endless love and interest for Neverland, but we have unfortunate news to deliver regarding member Jaemin.

Due to a knee injury, Jaemin had previously temporarily halted official scheduled activities to focus on his recovery, after an operation was required. Along with this, we have had in depth discussions with the artist himself and his family regarding his future activities and potential to promote.

After careful deliberation, Jaemin expressed his intention to conclude his activities with Neverland, which will continue as a group of 8.
We are greatly apologetic to deliver such news to the fans who have been waiting for Jaemin's return but we will continue to provide support for his recovery and future plans.

Furthermore, the members of Neverland will work hard to greet fans soon with more activities and music."

#ThankYouJAEMIN began trending on Twitter as fans praised him for his efforts in the band, as well as commending him for putting his health first and wishing him good luck for his future activities.

Exactly a year and two months after LOST's mini album release, NEVERLAND's second subunit, FOUND, is set to make their own debut. 

It's been speculated by fans that since the two units are interconnected, this debut will go back to the story set in the DREAMLAND album and perhaps explore a different perspective or show a side that hadn't been previously expressed.

To NEVVIE's surprise though, this wasn't the only good news that the group announced.

While MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT hasn't made an official statement yet -probably waiting for the subunit's promotions to be over-, members MINHO and JD mentioned in a live that they're all preparing for their solo singles which will be released one at a time, leading up to a full group comeback. There's no more information regarding the comeback or its release date, but this tease was enough to keep their fans excited.
