With the success from PRISM and large amount of adoration the upcoming girl group CHECKMATE has been receiving even before their upcoming debut, CEO KANG SEUNGMIN has took it to his social media and uploaded an image, possibly a teaser image for an that MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT is working behind the scene on a new girl group. Under the image is an interesting caption that read:

          ❝ They're going to have you begging
             for more.❞︎

Obviously, many fans were rather excited with the upcoming debut and had even reduced from the image that the girl group will be consisting of nine members and they will be taking on a darker and more mature concept. However, some had also voiced their opinions that MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT should take things slow and demands that MIDNIGHT release CHECKMATE from their dungeon as soon as possible.

FIRST MEMBERS OF UPCOMING

MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT have given fans a first look into their new girl group through the reveal of two members.

The trainees, KIM HYESANG and TAMAKI IROHA, have been announced as the first members of MIDNIGHT's second girl group through concept films showcasing the girls that were their group's official youtube channel. The girls' positions were also introduced to the public under the videos' description, with HYESANG being the main rapper, vocalist and face of the group and IROHA being the main dancer and lead vocalist.

Not much information can be deduced from these two short concept films. However, they had cause a lot of confusion among fans on the group's debut concept as it seems they will be taking on a more elegant concept; which is in contrast to the darker concept many had predicted from the teaser image.

MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT has also revealed the girl group's name through the release of the girl group's official YOUTUBE CHANNEL titled EQUINOX.

Fans were pleasantly surprised today, as MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT had revealed another two EQUINOX members despite having done so yesterday.

The trainees this time were HAN YESEUL and SAKO AYANO and like the previous reveals, were able to showcase their pure and innocent visuals in their concept films. It was also revealed that both girls would be joining the line up as the group's main vocalists.

Well-known star vocal coach in Korea, YOOK TAEYEON who claimed to have been their vocal coach, had took it to her personal social media page to compliment the girls on their vocal abilities, posting a video clip that demonstrated the girls' vocal ability .

The video had caught the attention of many netizens, singing praising for both the girls. Many praised YESEUL for her unique vocal tone and excellent vocal technique and her visuals and AYANO for her excellent vocal ability which greatly surpasses that of many typical Korean idol vocalists despite being Japanese herself. The final three EQUINOX members were finally revealed today.

The trainees this time were AHN JAEEN, GO HYEJU and ASTRID LIN showcased their visuals in their concept films and it was also revealed that all three of them will be joining IROHA in the dance line and HYEJU and JAEEUN will be lead rappers alongside HYESANG and the cute bubbly Chinese member, ASTRID who hails from Hong Kong will be filling in the role as the group's baby, being the maknae of the group.

Despite a PRISM's mini album on its way to drop on the 31st this month, MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT has announced last night that EQUINOX will be making their first comeback on 19 November 00:00 KST with the release of a teaser video. [ A/N: yes ik lame that it's on my birthday but it's exactly one week after last paper so i can prep so let me breathe!! ]

Fans are unsurprisingly excited from this news prior the girls successful comeback, with fans wanting to see more and more from the girls. Many have even took to extreme efforts to analyse the teaser video to guess what the upcoming comeback's concept could be, to which many speculated that it may be somehow related to the theme of social media.

Despite all the optimism, earlier on today, MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT had shared two updates on the group's upcoming comeback, stating that the EQUINOX girls have just safely returned from Vancouver after wrapping up one of their music videos filming. However, EQUINOX's eldest member OPAL had seemingly injured her knee while preparing for this comeback and will not be participating with the group in their comeback promotions as per suggested by medical professionals.

2 weeks ago, fans of EQUINOX were left disappointed as the girl group's promotions for their first comeback for their album, FOLLOW++, were abruptly halted when MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT announced that the girls would be taking a break for a while.

While fans remained understanding, their latest album were unable to do well sales-wise due to the lack of promotion from the girls. Despite the initial poor reception, it seems like MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT will be giving the girls another shot in the market as they teased that EQUINOX would be making a comeback as 9 with a full album with a teaser video.

EQUINOX TO RELEASE DIGITAL SINGLE

STARLIGHTS are currently in for a pleasant surprise as earlier, MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT announced that EQUINOX will be dropping a digital release track for their fans soon.

However, they also clarified that this release will not have a music video but just a simple performance video to promote it. However, they also mentioned that OPAL will not be present in the performance video as the idol is currently caught up with her acting debut in the upcoming NETFLIX ORIGINALS TALE OF THE NINE TAILED.

Sales for the upcoming album are set to open exactly 24 hours a day before the digital single will be released and naturally, many fans are currently clearing their schedules to ensure they get a copy of the album.

Naturally STARLIGHTS are elated to be seeing some content from EQUINOX after 4 months of since the release of their last comeback, I CAN'T STOP ME. Many fans also speculate that EQUINOX may be making a comeback soon as IROHA and SONG were seen in their recent VLIVE with silver highlights and fully dyed red hair respectively.

EQUINOX leader JAE also mentioned that the group will be filming an OT9 dance practice tutorial video to help STARLIGHTS who are interested in learning the choreography.

EQUINOX TO MAKE A
SUMMER COMEBACK!

MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT has confirmed that EQUINOX will be making a summer comeback with a mini album.

The mini album will feature 7 tracks, with 6 of the 7 tracks composed or written by EQUINOX members. The members, excluding IROHA, also went on a special VLive livestream to talk about preparations made for the comeback, sharing that the members got to go back to MALAYSIA, where they filmed the MORE & MORE music video to film and that SONG and HYESANG did not really like the title track at first.

However, IROHA's absence in the VLive caused confusion among viewers and they started asking in the comments section if she was excluded from the comeback due to the latest video dispute scandal. EQUINOX could not help but get amused from STARLIGHTS' worried state and their leader JAE ended up explaining that IROHA and KYU were never even involved in the dispute shown in the video to begin with and IROHA merely got dengue fever and is currently recuperating.

A repackaged album from EQUINOX has been confirmed to be dropping soon.

The entire tracklist of their third mini album EQUINOX BAR will be included in the new album with two new songs, consisting of a new title track and another b-side.

So far, the girls have been silent about the comeback as a whole as they silently prepare for it to avoid spoiling the comeback too much. Though reports have claimed that the girls had already been preparing for this upcoming comeback even before the promotions of ALCOHOL-FREE had even started. JAPANESE SINGLE!

MIDNIGHT ENTERTAINMENT has just confirmed that EQUINOX will be making their first Japanese single album.

This piece of news is later accompanied with releases of the group photo teasers for the Japanese single album on their new and official INSTAGRAM account @JP.EQUINOX.

The album were later briefly promoted on KNOWING BROS, where EQUINOX J-DUO - IROHA and KANO - were featured as guests on the variety show along with ANARCHY's JUN and REIJI.

With NEVERLAND's recent album release and 2 unconfirmed full albums from PRISM and IRENIC, and now an EQUINOX Japanese single album on it's way, it seems that MIDNIGHT FAMILY stans will be well-fed on the receiving end in the jolly season of 2021.

While MIDNIGHT's decision to push EQUINOX into the Japanese market may seem unusual to many, it has be predicted that it most likely will be well-received due to the girl group's large fan base in the  Lane of the Rising Sun.
