Hello, I am an Australian dance-vocal trainee from JYP ENTERTAINMENT.

As a kid, I had commitment issues, and could never stick with just one hobby. However, once I discovered dance, it was like everything fell right into place. I genuinely wanted to push my limits, and wanted to perfect the skill as best I could. Of course, I had some doubts about whether it was a feasible career path, but JYP announced that they would be holding auditions in Australia, so I decided to just go for it.

When the judges revealed they enjoyed my performance, I was sure that I'd finally found my purpose. I joined the company soon after, and have been working ever since.

I didn't exactly have the typical joyous, smooth-sailing childhood. As much as I hated the word, I was kind of "obsessed" with kpop for a while as it served as a distraction from my problems.

Thankfully, my parents were supportive enough to let me pursue my idol dreams. Despite their support and my passion, I still found it hard to keep up with the high standards set by the company.

Over time, the video speeds up, and we can see a time-lapse of the boy getting up to practice in the wee hours of the morning, despite showing clear signs of exhaustion after studying the Korean language for hours.

Not going to lie, I've wanted to just give up at times. The heavy competitive atmosphere here can sometimes make me feel like I'm trapped inside a pressure cooker.

I really admire RIN-sunbaenim. When he saw that JUNJIE was stressed, he didn't care about maintaining the strict mentor persona; it seems like those borders between idol and trainee don't exist for him. He just comforted JUNJIE because he was a boy in need, that's admirable.

How do I put this... when people change a "feminine" dance with the intention of making it more "masculine", it's either a hit or miss. You either pull it off extraordinarily well or flop. And while the skill and technique were there, the interpretation was a flop. Some of the moves didn't need to be that harsh, and some of the moves didn't need to be that restrained. Overall, it was not the best even though the technique was completely there.

Like YEJUN-ssi, your moves have unparalleled sharpness and precision, especially in your angles. However, this, unfortunately, led to you appearing quite stiff and making the choreography look oversimplified to the point of appearing robotic. It isn't a crime to loosen up and get into the song, allow yourself a level of comfort, alright?

Your energy balance and angles were impressive, but I found that you rush through and skip over certain moves. You took a pretty decent stab at the facials but they seemed...unsure. You have the power to engage your audience, I saw it in this performance. Exploit that to its fullest next time.

The boy looks absolutely exhausted for a brief second, before quickly rebounding and smiling brightly at the judges. While the trainees look to be satisfied with the performance, the mentors seem slightly conflicted as they scribble notes onto their clipboards.

I guess being the youngest means you have a lot of energy, because I could really see how into the performance you were! You dance with a lot of vigor and passion which is refreshing to see, not to mention your facials are very engaging. However, you have a tendency to overdance and miss the precision on some of the moves. While performing with energy is important, make sure you also focus on your execution.

⸝⸝ RIN ⸃ !!
You truly danced like your life depended on it, the stamina and energy were incredible! The facials, too, were engaging, as RYUJIN-nim has already mentioned. However, you have a tendency to overdance and apply too much power to moves in a way that makes them look messy. Due to this, you look off-balance and uncoordinated-especially when you create too many head-centered movements. Try to restrain yourself a bit next time you dance and be strategic in choosing when to apply more power and when to hold back.

You clearly look comfortable in front of the camera, and your stage presence was spot on. But like RYUJIN and RIN-sunbaenim said, there was quite a lot of overdancing. Try to hold on to your movements and hold back a little on your power next time. While energy is great and all, you need to temper it out with something that's even harder to accomplish in dancing - restraint. But well done.

Grinning from ear to ear from the mentors' comments, SEUNGGI proceeds to thank the mentors for their time before going back to sit down with the trainees.
