Chapter 3

Pete engulfs Porchay in a tight hug when they meet. "You, Kittisawad kids. How do you guys manage becoming more and more handsome every time I see you?"

"I heard that," Vegas says matter-factly, making Pete roll his eyes in annoyance. "For the nth time, HE IS JUST MY BEST FRIEND! Anyone who has eyes knows Porsche can't keep his hands out of Khun Kinn."

"He's not your boss anymore."

"Old habits die hard."

"Well, try to kill that habit harder then."

Pete is about to burst, but Vegas is already walking away. "Eat first, babies, before you play."

Porchay is eyeing Macau at this point, asking for some explanation. But Cau only plasters a silly smile.

"It's their love language," Macau says when they are moving further inside the house.

"Huh?"

Macau chuckles. "Ah, the idiocy to be young."

"Hey, you're only three months older than me!" Porchay punches Macau's shoulder. He swears he has put some force in it, but Macau doesn't even flinch. "You should really start doing martial arts, Chay. I hate to cry like a maniac at your funeral."

"I work out. You know this," Chay refuted.

"Not the same," Cau kicks back. "Working out is to make your body and stamina in a better shape. Martial arts will teach how to endure the most pain. All of the Theerapanyakul kids learn it since young."

"I am not a Theerapanyakul."

"With P'Kinn as your brother-in-law, it's a tomayto tomahto type of thing."

Vegas who hears that statement says, "You want me to teach, Chay?" He pops a grape into his mouth before feeding one to Pete.

"Porsche won't allow that. You teach like a psychopath," Pete says. Vegas is giving him evil eyes but Pete returns it with a sweet smile. "You're lucky you're cute and I love you to death, you know that." Vegas returns his attention to Chay. "How about it? Cau can join. I swear I'll go easy first on you babies."

Porchay's eyes find Cau's. Excitement burns their blood. They both then said, "Sure," with confidence.

Pete is chuckling. "Don't say I don't warn you, ok? And V, when Khun Takhun is storming your way with a baseball bat, I will give him the keys to our house."

"Hey, where is the loyalty?" Vegas raises his voice a notch.

"In the gutter because I know you will hurt my babies! And I warn you now, if he knows about this ...," Pete pauses but his face looks troubled. He steals glances at Chay who looks confused. Are they still talking about P'Takhun? But Chay feels it's a different person.

Vegas is smiling now, "That's the fun of it, baby!" he says, slapping Pete's ass as he walks away from the dining room.

Pete huffs. "Psychopath. I really end up with a psychopath," he murmurs. "Eat first, then play!" he then says to Porchay and Macau, trying his best to be stern. Both of the kids just give him huge smiles for it.

It's already nine p.m. when a knock is heard in Macau's room. "What?" the owner yells, too busy working out how to win a game to Porchay.

A sound that someone is disarming the safety alarm attached to the door is then heard. It's Pete, looking really troubled. "Let's go," he says in a hurried tone. "Khun Kinn called you both to the main house."

A grim feeling settled in the bottom of Chay's stomach. Is it Porsche? But if it's because of him, why bother calling Cau also?

They both go without a protest.

They go into separate cars. Big is already waiting to pick him up in front of the door of the house. He bows a little at the sight of Porchay. "P'Big, what is this all about?"

Big doesn't give him any answer. But there is pity in his eyes as he looks at Chay.

The road to the main house is no longer than just a few blocks, but Chay wishes sincerely time could slow down. He has a feeling he will dread whatever situation that makes him go to the house.

The thumping of his heart grows wilder and wilder as the main butler of the house, Bhumipol, directs them hurriedly to a room where the company holds an important meeting.

The door is open.

All The Theerapanyakuls and Porsche are there. But without Chay wanting, his eyes land on Kim first. Dress in a simple white t-shirt and blue jeans, he is looking back at Chay without shame. The bun is gone. He looks smug for some reason. His eyes, there is a lethal coldness in them, but there is also fire that burns Chay's skin anywhere those eyes are traveling.

Porchay is down in the designated chair beside Macau.

Kinn, after a long breather, then says, "We are sorry, but we can't let you guys go to London again in the meantime."

Earlier that day.

Kim goes inside the bulletproof sedan that picks him up from the private airport. He lays still with eyes closed as the car begins to move. Everyone who sees him will think that he is relaxing after a long journey from Pattaya to Bangkok.

But Kim is anything but relaxed.

His goal was finally checked last night and he can't wait to pick up his price. After a year of nothing going his way, today will mark a different result.

If he's lucky he can see Chay when he gets home, and Kim knows he is one lucky bastard.

A small smile rests on his lips as his brain thinks about Porchay.

The last time he saw them, Chay already looked different. Bigger body build, different hairstyle, different smell. Kim bets he tasted different too.

He opens his eyes as the car finally arrives at the main house. There are so many people waiting for him with a vigilance stance. Kim curses inside his head. He hates this kind of display.

When he walks inside, his eyes find what he's looking for. Dressed in a grey hoody and jeans, Porchay looks out of place in the sea of black suits.

He is one lucky bastard. He said that, right?

Chay looks like he is ready to go out and knowing his habit, Kim is certain Chay will sneak out and take public transportation. So he gives signals to Big who then runs with all his might to the outside.

As soon as he passes Chay, he texts Big to take his car to escort Chay. That car is safer than the car assigned for Porchay.

He should get that one done a.s.a.p then. Kim takes a mental note in his head. What car looks good with Chay in it? The sedan will certainly look good, but a young man like Chay probably wants a jeep-like Macau.

That thought still lingers in his head when Kim enters Kinn's office. It looks like he interrupts Kinn's time with Porsche, but Kim doesn't care. He sits down opposite the both of them.

"Hi, brother," Kinn gives him a warm smile, very different from what Porsche is showing him. "What honor do you give me with this sudden visit."

"I want what's promised to me," he says. His voice is calm, smooth, and even. "I did my job. Our territory was 22% larger last night."

"That promise was given by Father," Kinn tries to object.

"When Father gave me that written promise, was he not the head of the house?" Kinn stays silent, knowing he doesn't have a comeback for that.

"He's not the property of the house." This time it is Porsche. There's a heat in his voice. But Porsche is always been an emotional guy. Something he should work on by now.

Kim's eyebrows raise. He smiles a little, but there is no humor to it. "Maybe you should've thought about that before you agree to slip on that ring onto your finger." Kim points to the ring of the head of a minor family that glitters on Porsche's finger.

Porsche greets his teeth.

Kinn sighs. "I can give you anything in exchange for that. Even my seat as the head of the main family."

Kim shakes his head. Kinn of all people should know, that the seat is never on his bucket list in life. "I want him as promised, Kinn. Nothing you can say or do will change my mind."

There is a pause then. Kim sarcastically afraid both men still don't understand what it is his demanding. So he said, "I want Porchay."

Just so we are clear, the story begins at the end of the drama. It is also loosely based.
