Her entire life Caroline Forbes has been the second choice. The choice that was usually forgotten. The choice that was remembered when convenient for others to remember.

Her own father chose to leave her and move to another state only contacting her if she contacted him first. Her mother stayed but the two had a complicated. There were a lot of things left unsaid that neither knew how to say. To her friends, Caroline was the backup. The one they called or texted when everyone else was busy.

Caroline Forbes has never been anyone's first choice...but she was theirs.

Sam and Dean Winchester.

Caroline met the two when she spent the summer before freshman year with her Uncle Bobby. The two boys were with them while their Dad was on a "work" trip.

And the three just clicked. It was as if they had known each other their entire lives. Something about them just made Caroline feel as if she was...home.

But then John Winchester came back and the summer ended and Caroline had to go back to Mystic Falls. The three promised to meet again for the Summer.

But that never happened.

And Caroline Forbes once again felt like she wasn't anyone's first choice so she did what she could to forget.

She threw herself into organizing every town event she could. She became cheerleading captain and went to e every party she could drinking as much as she could to just for a moment forget that if she called anyone they would never come running.

Caroline Forbes thought her life couldn't get any worse but then the Salvatores came into town.

Her once semi-normal but painful life became even more painful and hurtful even if her memories were compelled away from some of the worst moments of her life she still knew something happened.

But what was supposed to be a good night with friends turned into a car crash and in the hospital with a high possibility she wouldn't survive.

Before turning into a miracle only to be suffocated and killed coming back as something she only heard in stories. Something she didn't think was possible.

A vampire.

And becoming one meant all the memories that were taken from her came back.

And at that moment Caroline Forbes knew she was broken and there was no way she would ever be put back together.

She tried though. She tried to seem perfect still. She tried to be the same happy Caroline Forbes even though all she wanted to do was scream especially when everything that happened just continued to become worse.

Between finding out her Mother was a vampire hunter and hated what she was like.

Then being kidnapped and tortured by a pack of wolves.

Let's not forget being kidnapped again by a 1000-year-old hybrid wanting to use her as a sacrifice but for some reason changed his mind.

Ooh and also being tortured by her father. And let's not forget her friends using her only when it benefited them.

But maybe just maybe being kidnapped by an immortal hybrid was the best thing that could have happened to her.

For Klaus Mikaelson recognized the brokenness in the girl full of light eyes. He saw her trying her hardest not to break anymore.

Two broken souls came together to show each other that they weren't broken beyond repair.

Enemies turned to found family. The family they both needed and deserved.

And when Klaus Mikaleson decided to leave Mystic Falls asked the blonde to come with him. To get out of the town they will break her beyond repair and away from the so-called friend who used her repeatedly.

But instead of going to New Orleans Caroline Forbes packed her bags and went to the one person she knew she could always trust.

Her Uncle Bobby.

Even if she was terrified he would find out her secret. Scared he would do the same thing her father did, but deep in her heart she knew he wouldn't.

But one thing Caroline was expecting to see was Dean and Sam Winchester once again.

The two boys who were her first loves and the girl they never could forget.

Their light in a world full of darkness.
