Adeline Crain and August Higginbotham met when they were nineteen in their freshman English class. The two met arguing over their first reading assignment.

Romeo and Juliet.

It was clear to everyone from the moment they met they were destined for each other, but neither saw it. Both hated each other until they accidentally got trapped in an elevator together with only a pizza and a cup of hot chocolate.

A truce was made.

And so was a tradition.

But more importantly, a love they never imagined came true.

A few years later the couples continue their weekly traditioned but instead of it being just the two of them. It was the three.

Their daughter Juliet Elle Crain (the last name they both chose because August nor Adeline was going to curse her with her father's last name) was born.

And become their entire world.

And when August's baby sister Renee gave birth to a baby girl a few months later they knew everything would be perfect.

And Juliet Crain had the perfect life with just her parents even if she was an only child with parents who had busy schedules they always showed up and never let their daughter go to sleep alone in their house in Seattle.

But when her parents her late to their weekly family tradition of pizza and hot chocolate Juliet knew something was wrong.

And when the doorbell rang with two officers standing there waiting for her Juliet knew the worse had happened.

A head-on collision with a drunk driver running a red light killed both of her parents. Although the doctors said it was a death a quick death and they felt no pain.

But their daughter felt double the pain.

Double the loss.

After their death and with Juliet being seventeen she was to live with her next of kin, her aunt she had not spoken to in four years.

But when the will is read and everything is left to Juliet with her guardian named Charlie Swan who should not have even been surprised.

For even though her Aunt Renee left the man and divorced him years ago Charlie was still family. He was invited (and no was not accepted by Adeline Crain) to every birthday, holding, and play.

He was always family.

And the only family Juliet truly had left.

But the death of Adeline and August Crain was just the beginning of everything changing for Juliet Crain.

For the first day at her new school in Forks Juliet called the new girl along with her cousin.

Along with being sat next to a pale boy who just kept staring at her in class and the two simultaneously correcting the teacher regarding a quote in Romeo and Juliet.

But that was just part of a small thing that happened on the first day at her new school.

But one moment and in a blink of an eye Juliet Elle Crain's life is never the same.
