The Dicer.

One of the worst serial killers that ever existed.

He was named the Dicer by David Rossi due to always leaving a pair of dice on the bodies of his victims. They were always on the same numbers.

83.

No one could figure out what the numbers meant. Why were those numbers on their bodies and why couldn't anyone find the killer?

David Rossi left the bureau with hesitations not able to find out who the killer was. He knew there were more than the 23 victims they found.

And every one of them was different.

But there was one thing about all the victims that David always believed was strange.

None of them had brown hair or brunette eyes.

Not a single one.

It was one year after he retired that David Rossi got a phone call at 3:14 in the morning.

The Dicer had been caught.

His name was Alexander Blair.

Someone no one would ever suspect.

He lived in a small town where everyone knew everyone and everyone knew everyone's secrets.

A town that would say how kind he was. How he always went the extra mile for his neighbors and community. Especially for his daughter.

Avery Blair was born on September 16, 1983.

The day Eve Blair died after being beaten and raped on her way home. She was seven months pregnant the night she died. The night her husband found her and tried to keep her heart beating until the ambulance got there.

The night that Alexander Blair died and a monster was born.

And his only soft spot was his little girl who later becomes the one who catches him.

Due to one little mistake and one little book.

The night Avery Blair's life completely changed as she confronted her father and the night Avery saw the strongest man she ever met break down sobbing.

Before he started laughing.

Laughter that made every hair on Avery's body stand up and everything in her body telling her to run as fast and as far as she could as her father laughed.

Before saying that somehow his teenage daughter figured out who The Dicer was before any FBI agent ever could.

Avery watched as he stared at her as if proud before his eyes went blank and he grabbed a knife. Avery stared at him in shock but the first cut of the knife had her running.

That night Avery Blair ran for her life from her father she once thought was a hero.

That was the night Avery Blair realized that the true monsters were the ones that were closest to you. The ones you never suspected.

After surviving that night everything changed for Avery Blair.

She changed her name after getting multiple death threats from people she'd never meet. She went by her mother's last name instead.

She then graduated high school and moved across the country to go to college starting older as got her degree in psychology and sociology.

Trying to figure out how the mind worked. How her father had turned into the monster he did. And how she never realized.

It was a few years later she got the opportunity from the same man who once bent down in front of her telling her that just because you came from a monster didn't mean you were a monster and that what someone had to do to survive didn't make them a monster and interviewed for the position she dreamed of having.

A dream where maybe she could save some little girl from what she went through.

Or maybe a little boy.
