Amusement park

Hearts laughed on the carousel, sticking our feet in the galloping air.

We slurped on the panoramic world from the Ferris wheel, pointing and laughing, like children with tiny dollhouses and models of cityscapes.

The vivid tints of cotton candies and colourful sodas melted in our mouths.

Amused faces smiled at the hilarious acts of the comical clowns.

Giddy heads giggled at the dubious rise and sink of the roller coaster, turning our stomachs into a blizzard of butterflies.

The rest of the day passed in a blur,

a riot of fun and colours,

smiles and laughs.

And the dazzling day was sealed with kisses of promises and the future.

But the grand clock chimed, piercing icicles of fear.

For not everything was here to stay.

Not everything was to hold on.

With the stygian sky advancing over our heads eating away the colours of the sky,

dulling the jumping neon lights and music,

muting the jokes and laughter,

the park creaked to its hellish life,

and soon the very paradise morphed into purgatory.

Love's a dystopia, we all live in.
And a utopia, we all dream of.
