Chapter 8
Hey hey hey!
I'm so sorry for not uploading recently, school got busy and my summer job decided to suck out all the time and energy I had for a while. As well with a family loss it's been hard to sit down and write, I can't guarantee chapters will be uploaded faster, but I am working on them. I have no plans to drop any of my books :)
Also, sorry for the update then unpublish, I wanted to add a few things 😌

Screaming. That's all that surrounded Kula in the dark. She couldn't see anything around her, but she knew there were other students, all of them screaming in terror and pain. She reached up and ran her hands through her hair as she tried to steady her breathing.
Something grabbed her by the throat.
A woman, something was oozing down her arms, not blood, something.
Kula reached forwards, her hands wrapping at the woman's arm, trying to pull away, before... blood. Skin and muscles fell to the ground in a bloody mess until the woman's arm as nothing but blood-stained bone.
Eventually the woman dissolved into dust, and from what had fallen off of her something new arose, Shigaraki. He looked down at her, grinning with a crazed look in his eyes. Around him, the students of 1-A's bodies appeared, but they weren't moving, they... they were...
Kula woke in a cold sweat, slapping her hand over her mouth as a nauseated feeling washed over her. She's been having the same type of nightmare for the past two days, ever since the USJ incident. Due to the incident, the school gave everyone two days off, letting the students who had been in the incident rest and recover, while also using the time to increase the security around the school.
Kula leaned back on the headboard and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She pulled at the collar of her shirt, which had started to stick to her skin. With a tired yawn, she kicked off her covers and sat on the edge of the bed. From previous experience she knew she wasn't going to get back to bed, she glanced at the clock, 2:56 AM.
Three hours. That was more than last night.
She stood up and stretched before heading to the shower and getting ready for the day. Today would be her first day back to school, so she dressed in her uniform before laying back on her bed, staring tiredly up at the ceiling. She'd tried to go to bed after the nightmare in the nights before, but no matter how tired she was, she couldn't get back to sleep. Every time she closed her eyes, she only saw the skin melting off the woman's body.
She pinched the bridge of her nose as a migraine started to come on. She had been forced to use her quirk for the past two days and with the lack of sleep the drawbacks have been more intense than ever.
After around two hours of Kula laying on her bed scrolling through her phone, she saw the sun had started to rise just beyond her window shades.
Forcing herself off her bed, she stretched and made her way downstairs. It was still too early for her parents to wake up, so she would be able to have breakfast without interruption before she headed off to school.
A quick breakfast of cereal and Kula was out the door and headed off to school, the last place she wanted to be.

"So, what was it like? Being caught up in an attack like that?" Someone asked and Kula turned around to see someone from her class walking up to her. Manuke was it? Once he got up to her, he slung his arm around her shoulders and pulled her close as he grinned. "Come on, spill all the juicy details!"
Kula looked up at him and slid out of his grasp, walking faster to get away from him. With the state she was in, reminiscing on the event that put her in this state was the last thing she wanted. "There's nothing to hear. There was an attack and the hero course students fought them off."
"Aw, come on, you have to have something more than that. Don't hold out on me."
"I don't want to talk about it." Kula said, continuing to move towards the classroom.
"Don't be such a sour puss, darlin."
"Oh, suck my nonexistent dick." Kula snapped, turning, and glaring at him. She had no patience this morning, and just wanted to get through the day and get home so she could sleep for the rest of the day. Before he could respond, she stormed away and entered the classroom before heading to her desk and sitting down, putting her head down on the wood and hoping for some type of migraine relief from the cold.
"K-chan!" Someone called out.
"K-chan?" Kula asked, looking up at Kishi with confusion.
"He's decided on nicknames for us. I'm Mi-chan." A new voice said, and Kula saw Mika walk out from behind Kishi and said with a slightly amused expression.
"Well, we are friends, so we need nicknames!" Kishi exclaimed with an excited grin. "You guys can call me Shi-shi!"
"Shi-shi, huh?" Kula said, an amused smile appearing on her lips, as she let out the smallest laugh. "Fine, I'll call you that."
Kishi grinned even wider, and it almost seemed like tiny flowers were surrounding him. Mika on the other hand was looking down at Kula with an almost shocked expression.
"Alright everyone, I know there's a lot to talk about with everything that's happened, but we need to get started on class, and on announcements." Power Loader said as he walked into the room. He waited as all the friend groups separated and they all sat down, looking up at him expectantly. Once everyone was quiet Power Loader started his announcements.
Most of his announcements were what had happened in the past few days, the USJ incident, and the fact that if anyone needed to talk to someone, Hound Dog was always available. He had glanced in Kula's direction when he had said that, and he wasn't the only one, some of the other students looked over at her too. Kula had just wanted to disappear then and there.
"Let's stop swelling on the past though, as I believe it might bring up some unpleasant memories. Instead, let's focus on something some of us are excited for." He grinned; his smile just barely visible from under his mask. "The UA Sports Festival."
At that announcement, the room was filled with mixed reactions. Some of the students had looks of excitement on their faces, while others groaned and looked like they were dreading the upcoming festival.
Kula was one of the students less excited. In her opinion, the festival was more an event held for the hero course students to either make their debut as first years, gain publicity, and get scouted for hero internships. The other courses were there most likely because they couldn't exclude the other courses from the event without receiving backlash. If she had a choice, Kula would prefer not to participate.
"Listen, I'm aware that most of you aren't looking forwards to this event and I'm sure many of you are thinking that this event is just for the hero course students to look good as they use their quirks to stand out."
"It lets us show our babies to the world!" Mei shouted out, slamming her hands on her desk.
"Oh, please rephrase how you say these things!" Mika exclaimed.
"Why should I?" Mei asked, looking over at Mika with excited eyes.
Power Loader cleared his throat, "While I wouldn't phrase it that way, Ms. Hatsume is correct. Many support companies watch these games and if your inventions catch their eyes, a first-year internship may be in your future."
"I thought only the hero course was given internships." A girl at the back of the class asked.
"They just get the internships that get publicized. The Support course is all about constant improvement. If all of you are stuck in this building learning things from me, or a book, you'll all eventually plateau. For you guys, the internships will be two weeks where you'll be learning to expand your horizons.
Two weeks. If she went somewhere out of her district, she could be free from her parents for two weeks, and Shigaraki won't know where she was. No parents, no villains... maybe participating in the festival won't be that bad.
"Due to the festival, for the next few weeks in workshop you'll be working on support gear that will help you in the upcoming festival."
Kula balled her fist, this was going to be her chance to break free from her home, even if it was just temporary.

Kula stepped off the train and walked through the station, scrolling through past Sport Festival articles. From the looks of it everything she read through, she knew that the first game of the festival was a free for all, all of the students were pitted against each other, most of the time it was some sort of race. The second game required the students to team up to gather points, such as games like capture the flag or cops and robbers. The last game was a one v one tournament, with multiple rounds until one student became the victor. Last year it was a foam sword battle.
Kula continued to read through an article as she turned a corner, where, like many times before, she fell through the ground, getting surrounded in a cold darkness before roughly landing in a bar.
"Can't I go one fucking chapter without seeing you?" Kula asked, looking up and glaring at the familiar hand encased villain sitting at the bar.
"I'm afraid I have to keep in touch with my little... mole." Shigaraki said, not even looking away from whatever was on the counter.
"What do you even need from me? I helped you infiltrate the USJ, isn't that enough for you?"
"I would have been if we had killed All Might then and there. But as you saw the mission failed, so we're back to square one."
Kula slid her phone into her back pocket, "If you're wanting me to help you come up with a plan to kill the symbol of peace, I'd rather die."
"I can't get rid of you yet, you're a valuable pawn in this game." He finally turned and grinned- seriously, has this man never heard of chapstick or moisturizer? - "You're here because I have a request. The League requires some... funds... for some future plans."
It took a second to realize what Shigaraki was hinting at, and she immediately balled her hands into fists. "Absolutely not." She said. Her head was still pounding from the past two nights and her mind still flashed to the woman's skin breaking off her arm in a bloody mess whenever she used her quirk.
"Are you in a position to deny me? Have you forgotten something?"
"I've forgotten nothing. Why don't you just rob a bank to get some of that money you need?"
"Robbing a bank is so messy, if we just had some gold, we'd get the funds we need immediately. I'm sure Etsuko would agree."
Kula tensed, that's right, he knew where Ms. Tatara lived, and if she refused to do anything for Mr. Hand Kink, the elderly woman would be the one to pay the price, not her. She gritted her teeth before a hand roughly grabbed her chin and she met Shigaraki's eyes.
"You come to a conclusion?"
Kula dug her nails into her palm, "Fine, I'll do it." She snapped, pulling herself out of Shigaraki's grip.
Ten minutes later she was standing in front of a 3-foot statue that was made of pure gold. She removed her hand from her cold surface and quickly shoved her glove back on, trying to ignore how much her fingers were shaking while she was putting on the glove. Thankfully her head trying to tear itself apart from the inside helped her ignore the anxiety and stress that was swirling inside of her.
"You've served your purpose for today. Kurogiri."
Before Kula could say anything, she once again fell through the ground and landed in a park near her house, the onetime Kula would have wanted it, she wasn't left at her front door. She sighed and started to walk home, pinching the bridge of her nose.
Just how much longer was Shigaraki going to hold her hostage?
