Chapter 7
Hey! I'm so sorry for not updating for a few weeks! I got hit with writers block, and the sudden hyperfixation to rewrite a very old book of mine. (try to guess, it's not a BnHA fic :)) Updates might be slow until the summer, but I don't plan on dropping this fic.
Anyways, enjoy the chapter!

"Thitreen protect the students!" Eraser Head shouted.
"Woah what is that thing? Wait has he training started already?" A redheaded boy asked, leaning forwards to get a closer look at the people walking in through the warp gate. "I thought we were rescuing people."
"Stay back!" Eraser Head snapped, stopping some of the students who had already taken a step forwards from going any further. "This is real. Those are villains."
"The only real heroes I see are Thirteen and Eraser Head." Kurogiri said, his voice carrying over to where the students were standing. "Perplexing. According to the Schedule we retrieved from UA, All Might should be here as well."
"So you scumbags used the press as a cover and sneaked onto campus." Aizawa said.
Not exactly. Kula thought, balling her fists tight enough for her nails to dig into her palm.
"Where is he? I went though the trouble of bringing so many friends who're eager to meet him. They want All Might. The great Symbol of Peace. I can't believe he's not here. Maybe if I kill a few kids, he'll come out to play." At that Eraser Head's scarf exploded in action, if they weren't currently being attacked by villains Kula would of closely studied how it moved but now wasn't the time.
"What, real villains? No way." The redhead said. "How could so many of them get into a UA facility this secure? Shouldn't the alarms be going off?"
"They'd have to get inside undetected. Everyone appeared from the guy in the middle so I'd assume it was some kind of transportation quirk." Kula said, being careful to seem like she didn't know who these guys were.
"This could mean this building is the only target. Though the alarms would still be triggered, so one of these villains has a quirk that is masking their presence here. " A boy with a scar standing next to Kula said. "They carefully choose this isolated facility at a time a class was being taught. They're fools for trespassing here, but they've thought this out. Whatever their plan they must have a concrete objective in mind. But what is it?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Kula started, "They came here to try to kill All might. The mist guy mentioned him earlier but since he isn't here..."
"They're going to attack us." The redhead said.
Around them the other students who were listening to the conversation gasped in fear, looking down at the villains who were slowly approaching the stairs that lead to the platform the class was standing on.
"Thirteen, get them outta here. And alert the main campus. Actually if they've got the ability to block our sensors, they might be jamming our regular communications, too."
"Jamming... communications?" Kula muttered, a spike of horror running through her as a white bar flashed in her mind. The USB. It connected to the network and shut off all communications within it. It could of been a remote control activation for this attack. Fuck fuck fuck. Kula thought, the string of curses getting longer as she watched the chaos below.
"What're you going to do? You can't fight them on your own! There's too many of them. Even if you can nullify their quirks your fighting style's not suited for this. Your power works best in stealth and one-on-one fights." The freckled boy said, a downtrodden look on his face. "It's not going to help with a group."
Eraser Head looked over his shoulder, his goggles now secure over his eyes. "You can't be a pro if you only have one trick." He said, then he stepped forwards, "I'll leave it to you, Thirteen." With that he jumped down from the platform and landed in front of the mass of villains, a fight starting between them immediately.
"Everyone, get to the doors!" Thirteen instructed, and with a quick 'yes ma'am' everyone started running, fleeing the battle scene behind them. But the stretch from where they were standing to the doors was long, and before they could even get halfway there a black hole opened on the floor just in front of the students at the front of the crowd, causing everyone to stop in their tracks. Smoke rose up from the ground until it formed a large mass, two beady yellow eyes looking down at the teens from within the darkness. He was nothing like the seemingly sane bartender Kula had known him as.
"There is no escape for you." Kurogiri said, his form raising higher into the air. "It's a pleasure to meet you, we are the League of Villains. I know it's impolite but we decided to invite ourselves into this haven of justice to say hello. And besides, isn't this a fitting for All Might, the symbol of peace to take his last breath? I believe he was supposed to be here today and yet I see no sign of him. There must of been some sort of change in plans we could not of foreseen." As he said those last words, Kula felt a pressure on her and she knew that he was looking directly at her. Though his gaze pulled away before anyone could notice and the mist opened wider at his sides, successfully creating a wall between the students and the doors. "I guess it doesn't matter. I still have a role to play."
Kula saw Thirteen raise her arm, one of the caps on her fingers popping open as she started to use her quirk, but before the she could create a black hole, two others jumped forwards and tried to attack him. Upon impact, the blond set of a large explosion and the Redhead attacked with his skin hardened much like a rock.
"Did you think we'd just sit by and let you tear this place to shreds?" The redhead asked.
"You live up to your school's reputation, but you should be more careful, children." Kurogiri said, and as the smoke cleared the students watched in horror as the mist that had been scattered pulled itself back together, as if nothing had happened.
"You two, get out of the way right now!" Thirteen shouted, ready to activate her quirk.
Kurogiri chuckled and started to expand, until he was completely surrounding all of the students. "I'll scatter you across this facility to meet my comrades, and your deaths!"
Kula reached up and placed her arms over her face as the cold mist brushed passed her. She could hear the grunts of her classmates nearby, as well as screams that faded away as they started dropping through warp gates. was pushed back a step, though instead of her foot meeting solid ground, she felt it sink downwards, and just like that she was falling through another one of Kurogiri's warp gates. Knowing there was no escaping the warp gate once inside, she closed her eyes and braced herself for impact.
The impact came with a thud and the breath getting knocked from her lungs. She laid still for a second before she forced herself to sit up, ignoring the slight ache in her back as she did so. Looking around she tried to get a handle on where she had been dropped. Going by the fact that she was sitting in a building that looked half deteriorated with more destroyed buildings outside the window she assumed she was in the Ruins Zone, and by the looks of it she was currently alone.
Bam!
Scratch that, there were defiantly other people there, and going by that explosion she assumed it was the ashy blond boy- Bakugo was it? She pushed herself off the ground and to her feet, walking over to the doorway before pausing and listening to see if she could hear any fighting. To her right she heard the sounds of more explosions, so, right she went.
Normally Kula would go the opposite way of the fight, but at the moment she thought it would be safer to be with two hero course students than on her own in case a villain were to attack her. She was in the Support course for a reason.
As she approached the area which was the source of the sound, a lizard-like villain was suddenly thrown out of the doorway and two students stepped out behind it. Bakugo looked at Kula and got ready to attack- luckily before he could the redhead recognized her and he stepped forwards.
"Hey, you're the support student, right?" He asked, "Man is it good to see a friendly face. You should stick with us so you can stay safe."
"Yeah. That's the plan."
The three of them silently moved through the hallways, staying alert in case any villains decided to try to get to them while they were walking. As they walked they heard many crashes and screams coming from the center of the building, signs that there still was a fight going on out there despite the stressful peace the three of them were experiencing inside the building. Luckily the three of them found a giant hole in the wall of the building that allowed them to slide to the ground using the rubble the had piled up against it. Once they got outside, the sounds of the fight happening in the middle of the USJ.
"Kontorōru, you get back to the platform where Thirteen is." The redhead, who Kula learned was named Kirishima, said.
"You two aren't going?" Kula asked, looking at the two boys.
"Hell no we're not running! The two of us are heroes, and heroes fight villains!" Bakugo, said with a grin.
"You're really planning on going against those guys? Those guys are the real deal-"
"So are we. Some guy with a hand fetish isn't going to take me down!"
"He's so much more than some guy with, with a hand fetish! He can and will kill you."
"He's not going to kill me because I just won't let him! I'll beat him down before he even has a chance. Now get going extra, you're just dead weight." He stalked forwards and Kula watched him go.
"Sorry about him." Kirishima said, "Though he does have a point. It's not a lot but the two of us do have more experience in fighting-"
Kula raised her hand to cut him off, "Don't worry, I completely understand. Personally I want to get as far away from the fight as possible. Just be careful and don't get killed."
Kirishima was quiet for a second before his gaze hardened and he nodded, running after Bakugo to catch up with him. She turned and started making her way out of the city ruins, looking for a way out of the area and to the platform. After a few minutes of walking through allies and past crushed buildings Kula got to the edge of the area, finally able to see what was happening in the center clearly. Glancing towards the stairway she saw that there was still a large group of villains blocking the way up. If she tried to go up the stairway she'd be right out in the open.
Though as she was trying to assess what was happening there was a loud crash near the entryway of the USJ the drew in everyone's attention. When she saw what had caused the crash relief filled her entire being.
"Have no fear students. I am here."
I never thought I would be glad to see All Might. Kula thought, but thank god he's here. Now if I can just quietly make my way back to the platform- Her train of thought was suddenly cut off when her head was suddenly jerked back, pain radiating from her scalp as someone pulled her hair.
"Looks like I didn't have to go far to find one of those hero brats." A voice said and Kula looked over her shoulder to see a woman with a handful of hair in her hand. She tugged back until her head was right next to Kula's almost resting on her shoulder and looked towards All Might, who was currently preoccupied with a giant bird like creature in the middle of the USJ. "Looks like I don't have to worry about the big guy, so I can have some fun." A purple liquid started to ooze out of her elbows, excess dripping down onto the ground below and melting a hole in the dirt.
Kula's eyes widened in fear and an image of melting skin appeared in her head and fear flew through her. Before she could even think, she balled her hand into a fist and swung it, a cold sensation running to her elbow just as she landed a punch on the woman's cheek.
The woman screamed and stumbled back, clutching onto her cheek as her jaw slacked. "hue itch." She said, her voice slurred almost to the point where it couldn't be recognized thanks to what Kula assumed was a now broken jaw.
I didn't think my punches were that strong. Kula thought, the cold sensation fleeing from her fist as she tried to shake off the pain in her knuckles. She glanced over her shoulder to see that All Might was still fighting whatever creature Shigaraki had brought along with him, but he was now joined by three of the hero course students.
Before she could run, there was a pressure around her throat and her attention turned back towards the woman who, in Kula's moment of distraction, ran up to her and wrapped her hand around her throat. Without a word, the purple liquid once again oozed from the villain's elbows and trailed down her arm, Kula's fear rising the closer it got. With her head clouded by fear, Kula reached up and grabbed onto the woman's wrist, trying to pull away the villain's hand before what she assumed was some kind of acid reached her.
There was a sizzling sound and Kula looked down to see that the acid had reached her gloves, and the fabric was melting off her hand. It didn't take long until the whole back of both her gloves melted off and the remaining fabric dropped to the ground. She bit her cheeks and squeezed her eyes closed to stop herself from screaming in pain as the acid surrounded her hands, but the pain suddenly stopped.
Risking a glance, Kula's eyes shot open as saw that the sludge, which had previously been a dangerous purple, was now a glistening gold. The villain looked down in shock and pulled away, screeching in pain as the now golden sludge lazily dropped from her arm, sizzling at the unaffected parts tried to melt through it.
Kula looked from the sludge to the villain, who was clutching her arm in pain, similar burns over her skin as the ones Kula had on her hand from the sludge. Not wasting any time, she backed away and started running towards the stairs, where most of the villains had abandoned due to the appearance of All Might. There were still a few but if she stuck to the edge and stayed hidden, they shouldn't notice her over the commotion of the fight between All Might and the creature.
Once she got to the bottom of the stairs, a shadow flew over her and she looked up towards the ceiling, watching as the creature was sent flying through and out of the USJ. That was one victory, but now there was the matter of the rest of the villains littered throughout the building.
Speaking of those villains, Kula was stopped in her tracks by three of them, each one grinning madly. Please, I'm not even a hero course student, leave me out of this! She thought, digging her nails into the palm of her hand. She took a step back, trying to find a way away before she ran into someone, looking behind her, she saw some kind of person that seemed to be made of paper.
"You're not getting anywhere, missy." One of the villains said, raising one of his hands and his drill-like fingers spinning eagerly. "We're not leaving here without making one of you hero brats regret your life choices."
Kula gritted her teeth, "I'm not even part of the hero course." She said, glaring at the man in front of her.
"Don't lie to us." A woman with gray snake-like hair said, taking a step forwards and placing a hand on Kula's shoulder. "That's not very hero-like."
"I don't care about being 'hero-like' because I'm not a hero!" Kula spat, instinctively grabbing onto the woman's hand, forgetting that her gloves had been melted off moments prior. The villain looked down at Kula with curious eyes before she looked over to her hand before realizing what was happening and pulling her arm back harshly, the way her fingers curved catching on Kula's gym uniform and ripping the fabric slightly.
"What the hell!" She woman screeched, rubbing her now golden hand with her other hand, the gold that had appeared flaking off and revealing a bloody mess underneath.
Kula looked at the woman, trying to keep the fear from her face. She's lucky she pulled away so fast, it seems only the first layer of her skin was turned. Kula thought. The woman gritted her teeth and she pulled back her unaffected fist and was about to land a solid punch to Kula's face before there was a row of loud gunshots and blood splattered out in front of Kula and the villain let out a shrill scream.
She had been shot.
Looking up towards the source of a sound, Kula saw a group a familiar figures and relief flooded through her veins. Backup had arrived.
***
It wasn't long before the villains fled after the backup arrived, and the heroes dealt with the lagging villains who failed to retreat and helped the students out of the USJ, where they could safely gather and recover from the traumatic experience. Kula stood off to the side, apart from the hero students who were excitedly talking over what had just happened. Weren't they shaken up at all from what had just happened? If they were they showed no signs of it as they talked lively with their peers and compared what had happened to them.
"Hey, you okay?" A voice asked and Kula perked up, seeing Power Loader walk up to her.
Kula just nodded, her hands had been burned earlier and her shoulder was sore from where the woman grabbed earlier, but it wasn't anything she couldn't handle. "I couldn't get any notes for the paper, though."
Power Loader looked down at her, quiet for a second before he let out a quiet laugh. "Still thinking of schoolwork even after something like this." He placed one of his hand on her shoulder and grinned, "Don't worry about it, after today I'm not too worried about your paper."
"What are you saying?"
"You're excused from having to do the paper. I'll come up with something to make up for it, but don't stress over it. You've been through enough."
"Oh. Thanks." She said. Power Loader nodded before he walked off to talk with some of the other heroes who had just stepped out of the USJ, he probably wanted any updates.
"Everyone! We're returning to main campus, please get back on the bus in an orderly fashion!" A voice called and Kula looked up to see Iida standing in front of the bus. It was almost refreshing to see him act like that. Watching the others move towards the bus, Kula followed after them, sitting in at the back near the window, letting her head rest against the glass.
***
"You're okay!" A voice called out as Kula stepped off the bus and Kula looked up to see two familiar teens running up to her.
"When Principal Nezu came over on the loud speaker and called for all the teachers to head to the USJ we just knew something was wrong! You're alive, but are you okay? Are you hurt? I don't know what I'd do if one of my friends got hurt!" Kishi exclaimed, tears gathering at the corner of his eyes.
"Kishi, don't overwhelm her." Mika said, placing her hand on her hips.
"Right, sorry." Kishi said.
Mika sighed and looked at Kula, offering her a small smile, "It's good to see that you're okay. Everyone was told to go home but Kishi and I didn't want to leave before knowing if you were okay." Her smile turned into a grin and she let out a laugh, "You should have seen the poor kid, he looked like some kind of lost puppy."
"Don't make fun of me! You were just as worried! I can't even count how many times I had to hold you back from going to the USJ yourself!"
The two of them continued to bicker lightly, and Kula balled her fist tighter, a warm feeling spreading out from her chest. She looked up at them, the smallest smile on her face. "Thanks... for waiting."
The two stopped talking and Mika placed a fist over he mouth as she looked away and cleared her throat. "D-Don't mention it. It's getting late, I have to head home."
"Hey, why don't we walk together!" Kishi suggested.
Kula raised her hand, "I have to grab my things-"
"We grabbed them for you!" Kishi said, holding up Kula's bag with a wide grin. "Come on, we don't want to miss our trains!" He handed Kula's bag to her before walking off of campus, happily humming.
Kula and Mika glanced at each other before they followed after him, leaving the USJ behind.
