Chapter 6
The next day classes started at full speed. Mathematics was first, then Modern Hero Art History, and now it was time for English.
Currently Present Mic was standing up at the board which held three sentences. He was currently trying to get the students more engaged in the lesson but it was obvious that everyone around her was either extremely confused or more interested in doing something other than learn a different language.
"If no one's going to raise their hand then I'll call out someone randomly. Let's see how about... Ah, Kontorōru why don't you give it a shot?"
Kula looked up at the board and stood up with a sigh. "The first sentence is wrong. It should be Most people like cake instead of Most persons like cake."
"That was some flawless English, Kontorōru! I'm impressed!"
"Uh, thanks." Kula said before sitting back down. Most of what Present Mic was going over she already knew, as she had grown up learning English to be able to talk with relatives overseas. It was as natural to her as Japanese was.
Class carried on normally and soon it was time for lunch. Luckily she had managed to pack her own food today and was able to stay in the classroom as everyone else went out to buy lunch. For most of the period, Kula ae her lunch in peace. Until an alarm started blaring.
In a frenzied panic, Kula slung her bag over her shoulder and stood up from her desk and started moving towards the door to see what was happening, she never made it to the door as a purple portal opened up under her and she fell through. With a grunt she felt herself land on what seemed to be grass and when she adjusted to her new surroundings she noticed that she was just outside UA's campus, somewhere behind the school.
"What do you want?" Kula asked.
"I think you know exactly what I want. A report."
"On what? I've been here for a day I haven't exactly gotten any important information." That was a lie- technically the schedule for when the Support course students would tag along with the hero course during their training would be useful information.
Shigaraki looked down at Kula, his red eyes glinting from behind his bangs, a second later his hand shot out and the wall beside them started to disintegrate, all the while his eyes not leaving Kula. It was obvious that he was giving her a warning. Somehow, he knew she had something.
"Fine. I have dates and teachers of some hero training classes. You'll... you'll be able to see which ones have All Might but they only have limited information." She said, managing to keep her voice calm despite the paralyzing fear that was running through her at the moment.
Shigaraki moved his hand away from the wall, not at all worried about the hole that he had made. "Hand it over."
Kula nodded and swallowed back the fear that was bubbling in her throat. Reaching down she shuffled through her things until she got to the paper, that was neatly placed in a folder. "Here." She said.
Shigaraki took it and looked through the names, "It seems that All Might is at many of these lessons. Perfect." Shigaraki said, a grin appearing on his face. He reached forwards and placed his hand on Kula's shoulder, the only thing saving her from his quirk was his pinkie that was lifted ever so slightly. "Good Job, rat. Now, you should head back before anyone suspects anything. I'd hate to loose a resource like you."
A portal opened up beside Kula and Shigaraki lifted his hand from her shoulder. Not wanting to spend any more time there, she stepped through, seeing that she was standing in front of a toilet. She placed a hand over her mouth and sat down on the toilet seat as the fear completely encased her.
What had she just done?

"Hey, you okay? You don't look too well." Someone said and Kula looked up to see Mika standing in front of her desk looking down at her with concern.
After the alarm shut off and she composed herself Kula stepped out of the bathroom and headed back to her class. Though seeing Shigaraki so close to school had made her both extremely anxious and very nauseous. And even though the rest of the day went by without another incident the anxiety was still going strong. By now most of the others in the class had already left, leaving just Kula and Mika in the room.
"I'm fine. Just... still recovering from the shock from the alarm." Kula lied.
Mika frowned slightly before she let out a quiet gasp and ran out of the room. Slightly confused but not curious enough to try to guess what she was doing she forced herself to stand up and slowly put all her stuff from class in her bag. As she made her way to the door Mika appeared at the door, holding something and completely out of breath.
"Good, you didn't leave. Here, take this!" Mika exclaimed and shoved something into Kula's hands. "These normally calm me down when I'm stressed out so hopefully they help you out too. Now I gotta go, someone's waiting outside the gate to pick me up. See ya!" She grinned and waved before she ran off again, leaving Kula to stand where she was, a neatly wrapped Onigiri in her hand.
Looking down at the Onigiri a warmth spread through her chest and a small smile appeared on her face and her hand closed up around it. It's been a while since she last felt like this.

The next day Kula wasn't in the best mood. For one thing her parents and her had a 'small' gold session the night before and the headache she normally got hadn't fully worn off yet, and secondly she was nervous for her last period. She was supposed to accompany the hero course to their Heroics class today. She just hoped that all she had to do was sit and watch as they went through their training.
"-A little different. You'll have three instructors. Me, All Might, and another Faculty member will be keeping tabs on you." A voice said as Kula stepped up to the 1-A classroom. She assumed that the one talking was Class 1-A's homeroom teacher- Eraser Head. After her last class Power Loader had told her to head over to 1-A's classroom and wait until she was called in by the teacher.
Though Kula could feel her heart racing with excitement as she waited outside the room. Eraser Head was her all time favorite hero, and she was only seconds away from being face to face with him for the first time since she was a little girl. She just hoped she was able to keep her calm while inside the room.
"Sir! What kinda training is this?" Someone from inside the room asked.
"Rescue. You'll be dealing with natural disasters, ship wreaks, stuff like that." Eraser Head responded. A muffled chatter slowly rose up from inside as the class excitedly talked about what they were going to be doing for the training lesson.
"I'm not finished yet." Eraser Head said, causing the class to quiet down. "What you wear in this exercise is up to you. I know you're excited about costumes, but keep in mind that you haven't gotten used to them yet, and they might limit your abilities. This special training's at an off-campus facility, so we'll be taking a bus to get there. One more thing, you can come in now."
Kula jumped slightly as the man address her from just outside the door. Taking a deep breath she calmed her nerves a bit before sliding the door open and stepping inside. Discreetly messing with one of her gloves as she walked to stand in front of the classroom.
"I'm sure you all remember what I told you a few days ago but throughout the year you will have support students tagging along with you during some of your training lessons. Today is the first day one of these students will be joining us. Introduce yourself."
Kula nodded and turned her attention to the class, feeling her nerves spike as twenty pairs of curious eyes landed on her. "I'm Kontorōru Kula from class 1-H. Please take care of me." She bowed slightly before returning to an upright position, and despite the neutral expression on her face she was quietly celebrating the fact that she didn't mess up her introduction. It's not like she was trying to impress anyone but her favorite pro was in the room and she'd never forgive herself if she messed anything up in front of him.
"That's all. Start getting ready. Miss Kontorōru, it'd be best if you changed into your gym uniform as well." With that he walked out of the room, and the other students got out of their seats and started to head out and walk towards the door.
"Hey, you can walk with us to the changing rooms!" A voice exclaimed and Kula looked to see a pink skinned girl walking up to her with a wide grin. With her was a floating uniform- which Kula assumed was a girl with an invisibility type mutation- and a brunette with rosy pink cheeks. "Hey, Kontorōru! I'm Ashido Mina, but please, call me Mina, kay?"
"I'm Hagakure Tooru! It's nice to meet you!" The invisible girl said.
"And I'm Uraraka Ochaco!" The brunette said with a grin.
"Uh, nice to meet you. And I'd prefer it if you called me Kula."
"Alrighty, then, Kula! Let's all go get changed!" Hagakure said, her invisible arms wrapping around Kula's before the dark haired girl was being dragged out into the hallway.
In the changing rooms, Kula quickly changed into her gym uniform while all the other girls got into their hero costumes. Luckily the girls were pretty fast with changing and soon they were all headed outside, where the buses were parked and ready to take them to the USJ.
Once outside the girls started to talk animatedly with one another. Kula just stood off to the side, jotting down a few notes in a notepad she had brought with her, mainly notes about everyone's costumes and any support items she thought she saw.
Suddenly the shrill sound of a whistle made it's way to Kula's ears and she looked up, seeing a blue haired boy with glasses standing at the front of the bus.
"Gather around, Class 1-A! Using your student numbers, form two neat lines so we can load the bus efficiently." He moved his arm up and down as he continued to blow on the whistle. Though despite how adamant he was about everyone lining up the interior of the bus wasn't what he expected and in the end everyone just sat where ever they pleased. Kula had decided to take a seat in the back next to a window.
Near the front of the bus the 1-A students were having a conversation, and from where she was Kula could hear bits and pieces of it. Apparently they were talking about quirks. Kula was able to tune most of it out until the blond started shouting.
"What'd you say? I'll kick your ass!"
"Y'know, we basically just met you. So it's kinda telling that we all know your personality is flaming crap mixed with garbage." A boy with a black lightning strike through his hair said.
"You're gonna regret the day you applied to this school, you looser! I'll kill you!"
"Hey, hey, we're here. Stop messing around." Eraser Head said at the front of the bus.
"Yes, sir." The class said.
The bus pulled to a stop in front of a domed building, and everyone stepped off and spread out in front of the entrance, where a pro hero in a space suit was standing. She'd never met this hero in person, but what she heard the pro on front of her was a famous rescue hero, Thirteen.
"Hello, everyone, I've been waiting for you!"
"It's the space hero, Thirteen! The chivalrous pro who's rescued a ton of people from disasters across the world!" A plain looking freckled boy exclaimed.
"Woo-hoo! Thirteen is one of my favorite heroes!" Uraraka exclaimed with a wide grin.
"I can't wait to show you what's inside!" Thirteen said.
"This is gonna be awesome!" The class shouted out and the group walked inside the building, gasping in awe when they saw what was waiting for them inside.
Kula was as impressed as all of the 1-A students. Inside was a wide array of disaster areas. On one side there was a large body of water with a large water slide and an entire ship floating in it, and on the other there was what looked to be a landslide. Close to the platform they were standing on was the destroyed remnants of a large city. There really was something for every type of disaster inside this building.
"Holy crap! It looks like some kind of amusement park!" A red haired boy nearby exclaimed.
"A shipwreck, a landslide, a fire, a windstorm, et cetera. I created this training facility to prepare you to deal with different types of disasters. I call it the Unforeseen Simulation Joint. But, you can call it, USJ!"
Kinda like Universal Studios Japan Kula thought.
"Hey, shouldn't All Might be here?" Aizawa asked as he walked away from the students and towards Thirteen. "Let me guess, he booked an interview instead."
Thirteen's response was quiet, so Kula was unable to listen to what she was saying to Aizawa so instead her gaze wondered around the area. It was strange that All Might wasn't here, but since there were already two heroes with them the hero students should be fine.
"The clock's ticking. We should get started." Eraser Head said.
"Excellent. Before we begin, let me just say one thing. Well, maybe two things. Possibly three, four, or five.
"We get it!" 1-A said, a gloom appearing around them.
Thirteen cleared her throat before she raised one of her hands, "Listen carefully. I'm sure you're aware that I have a powerful Quirk. It's called Black Hole. I can use it to suck up anything and turn it into dust."
"Yeah, you've used Black Hole to save people from all kinds of disasters before, haven't you?" The freckled boy said.
"That's true, but my Quirk could also very easily be used to kill. Some of you also have powers that can be dangerous. In our superhuman society all Quirks are certified and stringently regulated so we often overlook how unsafe they can actually be. Please don't forget that if you loose focus or make the wrong move, your powers can be deadly. Even if you're trying to do something virtuous like rescue someone. Thanks to Aizawa's fitness tests you have a solid idea of your quirks potential. And because of All Might's combat training you likely experienced how dangerous your powers can be when used against other people. Carry those lessons over to this class Today, you're going to lean how to use your quirks to save people's lives. You won't be using your powers to attack enemies or each other, only to help. After all, that's what being a hero is all about. Ensuring the safety of others." The pro gave a bow, "That's all I have to say. Thank you so much for listening."
Around her Kula could hear the students cheer, and even though she had no plans of being a hero she still felt inspired by the speech they were just given.
"Right, now that that's over..." Eraser Head started, though before he could continue the lights on the surrounding dome ceiling sparked before shutting off, and the fountain in the middle of the area fluctuated before a familiar dark black mist appeared in front of it.
Kula stared down at the gate with terrified eyes, watching as a familiar hand covered man stepped out with many others following close behind him. No... no it can't be him. He just got the information the day before there was no way he could plan a solid attack this soon. But there he was, right in front of her standing at the base of the stairs looking up at the students with crazed red eyes. Kula felt like her heart was stuck in her throat and she took a few steps back as she came to the sudden realization.
The villain below was none other than Shigaraki, and she was the one who brought him here.
