Chapter 5
Kula's day was going well- in fact she might of said it was going great. Until a certain hand covered man who desperately needed lotion decided to have a bartender made out of the void open a gate on the ground in front of her and cause her to literally fall into a bar.
"Fuck you." Kula said as she stood up, sending a glare towards Shigaraki.
"That's quite a rude greeting."
"Fits the occasion. Now, what do you want? I texted you that I got in to UA so isn't that enough?"
"What, I can't congratulate you?" Shigaraki asked, tilting his head slightly. Kula didn't respond and only looked at him with an expression full of doubt. "Fine, I want to know any information you've gathered. You must have something on that school of brats."
Kula really didn't want to say anything, but she could see his fingers twitching as time ticked by and she knew that he wouldn't hesitate to turn her into a pile of dust. Though on second thought becoming a pile of dust might be an easy out- though the idea of the pain she'd feel pushed her away from the idea. With a sigh she decided it would be best if she were to just give him some information, and she knew exactly what he wanted to know.
"All Might's there." Silence met her words, until Shigaraki lowered his head and his shoulders started to shake. Laughter made it's way to Kula's ears and Shigaraki lifted his head, a wide grin on his face and his red eyes wild. Slowly his laughter died down, but his grin stayed. "That's perfect. He's right where we want him." He glanced over at the man behind the bar counter. "Kurogiri."
Kurogiri nodded and a small portal opened up, a small rectangular object fell out of it. Catching it instinctively, Kula looked down to see that it looked to be a USB.
"Once that school starts, plug that device into any device connected to the school's main network Contact us when it's been done and we'll retrieve it from you immediately. It's still a few months until your first day, but I trust you not to loose that if you value your life."
"Right..." Kula muttered, looking down at the USB before she shoved it in her pocket. "Can I go now? I don't really want to be here right now, full offence."
Shigaraki huffed before he waved his hand dismissively. "You've served your purpose. Kurogiri, help our little rat home."
"Yes, sir." Kurogiri said with a nod and in a split second a dark portal opened up next to her. "Have a good evening, Ms. Kontorōru."
Kula just rolled her eyes and stepped through the portal, feeling a chill before once again the early spring warmth surrounded her. Behind her the portal disappeared and Kula walked out from behind the house to the front door. Both her parents were out doing whatever they wanted so the front door was locked, again. Luckily Kula had recently made a copy of the house key for herself and was able to let herself in. While sneaking in through the window was practically second nature to her she didn't want to have to do it too often- in fear of the neighbors seeing her climb the wall and reporting it to her parents.
She stepped into her house and kicked off her shoes before she walked up to her room and headed straight to her bed, falling face forwards onto it and burying her face in her pillow.
What the hell did she get herself into?

Eventually her last year in Jr. High came to a close, and on a warm spring day Kula was getting ready for her first day at U.A academy.
She stepped into the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. She reached up and adjusted her collar and took a deep breath. Today... today everything was going to get better, she just knew it.
After fixing her bedhead, she walked downstairs and prepared a simple breakfast before she headed out, the morning sun just barely rising as she headed to the station. Normally her parents were still asleep at this time so she was always able to get out of the house without having to interact with them at any point in the morning.
Her walk to school wasn't that long, the usual five minute walk to the station then a twenty minute ride on the train, and finally five minutes from the station to the top of the hill that U.A stood on. Standing in front of the gate, Kula took a deep breath, mentally preparing herself for the chaos that she assumed the first day of school would be.
"Hey! It's you, the girl from the exam! I'm so happy to see that you got in!" A voice exclaimed and Kula looked over her shoulder to see a familiar blue haired boy walking up to her, a wide grin on his face. Kula recoiled slightly as he walked up to her pulling her arms close to her body as he got closer to her. "Obviously you did well on the exam if you're here, oh, what class did you get into? I'm in class 1-H! If we're in the same class we could walk to the classroom together!" Kula listened to him ramble on, from talking about the exam to his excitement for the first day, only stopping when the warning bell rang. "Oh, there's five minutes until class starts! We'd better hurry!" Without waiting for a response, he darted off and ran up to the main doors of the school, disappearing from sight as the doors closed.
So he's in the same class as me. That's going to be exhausting... Kula thought to herself before started to head to her classroom. Thanks to Shigaraki she had memorized the entire layout of the school a month ago so she knew exactly where she needed to go, so with a minute left to get to class Kula found herself walking into the classroom.
"Hey, looks like you did pass." A voice called out and Kula looked over to see a familiar blonde haired girl sitting on top of a desk. "And we're in the same class. Awesome!"
"Uh, morning, Otonoawa." Kula said, giving her a small bow in greeting.
"Call me Mika! If I can call you by your first name then you can call me by mine, okay?"
Kula just nodded, and only a second later the bell rung to signify the start of class. Though at the same time the door slammed open and an out of breath. "I made it in time!" A familiar dark haired boy shouted out.
Didn't he head to class before me? Kula thought as she watched him walk over to his seat, completely oblivious to all the stares he was getting from the other students in the classroom, or the whispers that came from some of the girls in the classroom.
"Alright, everyone. I know the first day is exciting but get to your seats and quiet down. I have some things I want to say before we head to the opening ceremony." A voice said and Kula moved to her seat- which just so happened to be in front of the boys- and sat down. At the front of the room she watched as Pro Hero Power Loader stepped up to the front podium. Once everyone was seated and quiet he cleared his throat and started talking.
"Welcome to your first day in U.A's support course. I'm going to be your Homeroom teacher as well as your Workshop teacher- I'll get more into that later today. Please address me as Power Loader. Throughout these next three years all of you will learn all the steps and skills needed to create a working support item alongside your regular classes. This course isn't going to be easy, even if you already have some knowledge in this field of work, so I don't want to see anyone slack off during class." He grinned, "With that in mind I hope you're all prepared to go far beyond your current knowledge."
Suddenly the atmosphere in the class changed into one of determination, and looking around Kula could see a fire blazing in multiple students eyes. It was obvious to her that everyone in this room had something in common with her. The passion and thrill that comes with creating something entirely new.
After a few more announcements from Power Loader, ones mainly surrounding their schedule for the rest of the day, the class got up and headed to one of the auditoriums, where the opening ceremony was being held.
As Kula walked through the halls with her class some movement outside the window caught her eye. More specifically what caught her eye was a giant explosion and judging on how everyone else had moved towards the window they had been distracted as well.
Looking out the window, Kula saw what looked to be a class standing in the field. A boy with spiky blond hair stood in the middle of a white circle while the teacher showed the rest of the class something on his handheld device.
"What do you think they're doing?" Mika asked as she walked up to stand beside Kula.
"Oh, I think I know! They must be testing out their quirks! Judging on that power from that blondie's explosion they have to be part of the hero course!" A new voice said and Kula glanced over her shoulder to see a girl with pink dreads looking down at the group with wide, excited eyes. "I wonder if I can make babies with any of them!" Kula looked at her and took a small step away.
"Did she just say what I think she just said." Mika asked, looking over at the other girl.
"Yeah... yeah she did." Kula said.
"I know watching people use their quirks can be exciting, but we have to get moving. You all will be able to examine these kids quirks in due time. For now we need to hurry to the auditorium."
"Yes, sir!" The class exclaimed and slowly they started to pull themselves from the window and followed Power Loader to where they needed to get to.
For the most part the opening ceremony was normal. Nezu started off by talking about the school and what an honor it was for everyone there to be able to be attending this year. He went over what the year ahead held, from the basic guide lines of specialized classes the courses will go through. He briefly went over the different festivals the school organized- including the ever famous Sports Festival- before he handed off the mic to Present Mic.
After the opening ceremony everyone headed to the cafeteria for lunch. Just like it was during the exams, the lunch line moved fast and Kula had managed to get her lunch and find an empty table in the corner of the room near the windows.
As she was eating she heard two pairs of footsteps get closer and the squeaks of chairs being pulled out. Looking up Kula saw Mika and the blue haired boy sitting across from her. She just looked back down at her food and continued eating.
"Jeez you're so rude to your friend." Mika said.
"We're not friends." Kula responded.
"If we're not friends then why are we going by first names?"
"I don't like going by my family name, and I'm just respecting what you want."
"Hey, hey! That reminds me, I never introduced myself!" The blue haired boy exclaimed. "I'm Takamitsu Kishi! If you two are going by first names then please call me Kishi! Or Shi, or shishi, or-"
"We get it." Kula said.
"Hey, since we're all friends now we should share phone numbers!"
"When did I ever say-"
"Sounds great! Kula, give me your phone!" Mika said as she pulled her own phone out of her skirt pocket.
"No."
"Come on!"
"I said no."
"Come on, Kula, please let me have your number." Kishi said, widening his eyes and clasping his hands together. If Kula didn't know any better she'd think that a puppy was seated in front of her instead of her classmate.
"Fine then I'll just go in your bag and get it for you." Mika said, already reaching towards Kula's bag, though before the blonde could even touch it Kula pulled it away quickly as she remembered what was inside. Both the burner phone she had gotten from Shigaraki as well as the flash-drive he had entrusted her with a few months ago.
"Haven't you ever heard of boundaries? You two be each others friends. I want no part of this." She stood up with her half eaten tray of food and headed to the trashcans. After throwing away the rest of her food she headed out of the cafeteria and towards her classroom.
Once she was seated in her desk she placed her head down, pulling the flash drive out of her bag and looking down at it.
She needed to focus on getting information to Shigaraki and staying alive.

The rest of the school day consisted of teachers going over their classes and what's expected of them as the year goes by- average school topics. The final class of the day was the main reason for the support course, workshop. This was the only class where the students had to move to a different room instead of the teacher, as they couldn't fit everything they would need for support gear in their main classroom.
Power Loader was their workshop teacher as well as their homeroom teacher, as he was one of the only Pros on staff who had a certification to create and monitor support items.
The beginning of the class was the same as the rest. Power Loader handed out the syllabus and went over it briefly. Then he started to hand out a second sheet of paper.
"One of the biggest skills someone within the support line of work is observation. Many heroes go into a meeting not knowing how exactly support gear could improve their quirk- therefore you need to know how to observe the way someone uses their quirk and how gear could help them improve. In this coming year, each of you will accompany one of the first year hero courses during their training sessions and then write a report on one of the quirks that the students in that class has and how it could be improved upon. On these pieces of paper you're getting is the date, class, and teachers of the training session you will be joining."
Kula looked down at the sheet of paper she was handed, looking for her name in the list. Once she found it she traced her finger across the paper to see where she was assigned, finding that it was only about two days from now.
She would be accompanying class 1-A to the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, the USJ for short. It as going to be rescue training for the students in different types of environments. The teachers accompanying the class was going to be All Might and Thirteen- a well known rescue hero.
Looking through the rest of the sheet she saw that there were other locations and dates for hero training, and by the looks of it it seems like All Might is joining almost every one of them, though it does make sense since he was the new heroics teacher.
Kula sighed, this information was exactly what Shigaraki wants, but she didn't want to hand it over to him. Not yet at least.

After school ended, Kula slowly packed up and by the time she was walking out of the door the rest of the class was already gone. Keeping her hand in her skirt pocket she nervously fidgeted with the USB as she walked through the hallways.
He said she needed to plug it into a device connected to the school's server within the first few days of school, and she didn't know how long he would give her before his patience runs out and he decides to do something to Ms. Tatara.
Once she was in an empty hallway she placed her bag down and sat against the wall. Digging in her bag she pulled out the laptop she had used when she was a kid, luckily she removed all the files from it and reset it the night before. Whatever this USB did she did not want it digging into any of her personal files.
She connected her laptop to the school network before pulling the USB out of her skirt pocket. Looking down at the small device she took a deep breath and took off the cap before plugging it into the laptop. On the screen she watched as a black box appeared, a plain white bar slowly getting longer as time went by. Eventually it stopped moving and blinked a few times before it was replaced with words reading 'Connection Successful. Please remove and destroy USB.'
Glancing at the USB she pulled it out of her laptop. She didn't know what she expected but this was much more anticlimactic than she thought. Closing her laptop and placing it in her bag before standing up and heading outside.
The moment she stepped out of the school gates she glanced at the USB and threw it on the ground. Looking at it she stomped down on it and heard a crunch. Despite the massive amount of guilt that was weighing down on her she forced herself to stand tall and walk towards the train station.
