"Y/N, wait up!" Sarvente shouted, getting your attention. "Would you like to do some last minute praising?"
"Oh umm.. sure I guess?" Sarv always did this, last minute praying was always a priority if she saw you with free time at the end of the day.
But then your phone started to ring.
"Oh! One sec Sarv, let me answer this."
"But god always comes first Y/N!" She whined.
"Please? I'll be quick!" You pleaded, thankfully she allowed you, but told you to hurry. You had stepped out of the hall, into the janitor's closet and shut the door.
"Ahem, hello? Who's this?"
"I'm so sorry, but your parents have—"
Your whole mind went blank. The rest of the words spoken through the phone were blurred out. You had dropped the phone down by your feet, and started to silently sob.
"Is everything alright in there Y/N?" You heard Sarvente's muffled voice.
"Y-yeah, yep! I'm almost finished!" You took those few moments to clean yourself up, and bring up your always happy mood again. You opened the door to see Sarvente with her arms crossed.
She then immediately took your hand and led you to the appraisal room, where a large statue stood tall, towering over both of you. It had to be over 10ft due to Sarvente being taller than you.
She got down on her knees, and put her hands into a praying position. She said a few words, and patted the ground beside her. Of course you sat down.
You let out a long, hollow breath, as you repeated the words Sarvente spoke. Your mind was pounding from the news you just heard.
You zoned out after a while, you were shook awake by Sarvente scolding you about how it's rude to "fall asleep".
"Y/N! That's quite a rude thing to do! We must respect the gods as they respect us!"
You let out a small mumble, which was supposed to be a 'sorry'.
She clicked her tongue, and accepted your apology, but was still scolding you.
"Y/N you should know better-"
"Please...stop."
You were on the verge of tears, not that you haven't cried already.
"Y/N, it's not okay to cut off someone-"
"Sarvente! Please stop! I've had enough of this! This constant praying and believing is absurd! What is the point in all this? What's the point? Tell me! Answer me Sarv! I can't decide!"
At this point you were breaking down and having an anxiety attack.
"Tell me..the purpose..if these..gods aren't even real.."
Sarvente gasped.
I guess she never expected to see this dark and harsh side of you. She doesn't fully understand the meaning of human emotion, as she isn't human.
"How could you..? What a cruel thing to say..! The gods...are real! Are you telling me that you no longer believe in our religion?!"
You wiped your tears, and shouted.
"Of course I don't! Not anymore anyways! Not until after they died!"
Silence had overcome the argument, your silent sobs were the only thing heard.
"Y/N... what do you mean by they died? Who died?"
You sniffled, holding back any further tears to spill.
"Tch, why would you care at this point. All you want to talk about is (God Name) and our—sorry, your religion.
Sarvente was shocked, she was showing so by slapping her hand on her mouth.
"That.. that's a sin...that's a sin Y/N..!" She shouted.
Before she said anything more, you left the room, and somewhat slammed the door.
It hurt to breathe, you just "betrayed" your best friend. Make that your only friend. Your only family was gone, what did you have to live for..?
