Michi sat in her room staring at the ceiling.
"Ugh... I told you to leave me alone!" She mumbled to the people she saw in her room. "I'm not in the mood right now to talk with you today..." she closed her eyes and tried to fall asleep.
The voices echoed in her head. Pleas to help them move on, to find someone and to even find something of value that they've hidden away somewhere.
"Let me sleep..." Michi half whined half spoke as she covered her eyes with her arm.

She had just fallen asleep when a knock sounded on her door.
Seriously?!?! Michi thought to herself.
"Come in" she called as she sat up and dangled her feet along the side of the bed.
The door opened and the man standing on the other side entered the room.
"Dear, are you feeling alright?" The man asked as he closed the door behind him.
"Yeah. I'm fine dad. Why?" Michi told her father.
"It's just some of the grunts have been telling me that you're talking to yourself again." The man sat down on the bed next to her.
"I'm not talking to myself. I'm talking to people. I don't see why the grunts think I'm talking to myself..." Pleaded Michi. "Can't you see them?? One of them is sitting at my desk over there asking why your hair is red and why mine isn't..." Michi pointed to her desk but her father could only see the desk and not the person.
"I'm sorry. I can't see them..." he told her.
"What's wrong with me?" Michi flopped down onto her bed and stared at the ceiling. "I'm not crazy!"
"I know you aren't. But I do know what you are" her father smiled.
"I'm not a freak either!"
"No, you are not a freak! You are a medium. Someone who can see the non-living" Michi sat up at the words non-living.
"So you mean I can see the dead?" Her father nodded.
"Why me...?" She flopped back down.
"Michi. This is a wonderful gift that not a lot of people have. That makes you even more special than what your mother and I think of you!"
"Ok..." Michi sighed. "But they never leave me alone!"
"That's just something you'll need to learn how to control. Don't worry sweetie. You'll be fine."
"Thanks dad" Michi hugged her father.
"Now get back to sleep. It's late" her father tucked her in and turned out the lights before heading back to his own room.
