Chapter 6: Passing Notes...

Gym class was... well gym. We had to stretch first, then the girls had to play volleyball and boys had to play basketball. We played for the whole period and changed back into our regular clothes.
Gladly, Kaitlyn and Tracey didn't talk to us after I kinda beat her ass. That lil cry baby went to the teacher and told.

Honey, you're like fifteen years old and you still tattle tell? Haha. Wow. I don't like snitches.

I didn't get in trouble though. Coach Williams just said not to do that again. He's a cool teacher, he doesn't really care.

After the bell rang, we had to go to our 2nd period. That means I have algebra class with Nia! So much fun! Except for the fact that it's algebra.
Nia and I quickly walked out of the gym before a lot of students rushed out of there so we wouldn't be trampled over and we went to our lockers.
Nia's locker is three lockers to the right of mine and her locker is decorated on the outside with a huge, sparkly purple "N" in the middle of it and pretty tiny lights and mirrors inside of her locker. My locker isn't decorated yet, it's just plain bright red like everybody else's and I don't know if I want to decorate it. It seems a pretty good idea to decorate my locker but I don't know if I have the time to.
I opened my locker and gently put my gym bag and backpack inside and grabbed a few pencils from the inside of my locker door.

"Hey. Uh. Ariel." Nia peeked from her locker.

I looked back at her, "Yeah?"

"I- uh gotta meet someone." She said quickly closing her locker. "If the teacher ask where I'm at, tell her I went to the office." She said walking away backwards.

Wonder who she's meeting...

"Wait, can you show me where-" She cut me off.

"I'm sorry I gotta go. I'll see you when I get back." She quickly said walking away.

"But I need you to show me where-" I sighed and closed my locker door.

Forget it, she can't hear me.
Now how I'm the world am I supposed to find this class?

I looked down at my schedule.... Algebra- Room: 116 - Ms. Steeley. I looked at my surroundings and I'm by a class that says "105".

I'm kinda close to my class, it's gotta be somewhere.

I sped through the halls, trying to get past the slow walkers in the middle of the hallways. I quickly scanned at the door numbers and hallway directions trying to find that stupid classroom.

*Ring* Ring*

Dang it! That's the tardy bell! I hate being tardy!
Ooh imma get Nia for this.

I sped through the hallways even faster trying to find my algebra class. I was staring at my schedule and running through the halls as fast as I could until I ran into someone and knocked some of his books down.

I gasped, "O-Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" I said quickly picking his books off the floor.

"No it's fine, you're good." His light and soft voice sounded familiar.

I stood back up and handed his thick algebra book and binder.

"Here you go, I should really watch-" I stopped and examined his face. It's Michael.

"O-oh I'm sorry Michael." I chuckled feeling embarrassed.

He chuckled and shook his head.

"No, it's okay, it was an accident." He said.

"I should really watch where I'm going, it's my fault. Aha." I uncomfortably said putting a piece of hair behind my ear. "I was trying to find my class." I said.

Michael smiled, "Ha. I am too. I'm going to Algebra." He said.

My eyes widened, "You are? In what classroom?" I asked.

"116." He smiled.

"Uh me too. Um. Can you help me find it?" I asked.

"Yeah, I just got done talking with a teacher, it's down the hall to the right." He said pointing down the hallway.

"Oh. Uh. Okay. We're gonna be tardy though." I scratched my head.

"It's okay, the teachers don't care until the next week of school." He said.

I took a deep breath, "Good, let's go to class." I said walking down the hallway as he followed. Some of the students were still walking down the hallways wandering around.

I guess they're 9th graders too. Clueless and not knowing where they're going. Haha. I can't wait till I get used to this school. It's so big and I really don't know where half my classes are at. I know this is the second day of school, but I like to know where things are quickly.

We slowly walked inside of the full classroom. I walked in first and then Michael came in causing people to look at us in surprised faces.

"Michael Jackson?!" I heard someone say. In the corner of my eye, I can see Michael brightly smiling at one of the students.

Ms. Steely walked up to us with a smile on her face.

"Well class it looks like we have new student in our class." Ms. Steely smiled brightly.

"H-Hi, my name is Mi-" Michael tried to introduce himself until Ms. Steely interrupted him.

"We know you, you're Michael Jackson, the one in Jackson 5. I can't believe you're in my class." Ms. Steely excitedly said. "Now we have two celebrities here." She smiled at me.

Everyone acted the same towards me when I first came in yesterday. They were surprised that I'm in this class, except for Justice. Justice is Kaitlyn's fraternal twin sister. They may not look alike but boy, they do act the same.

Everyone started talking and smiling at us as we stood there and blushed. She quickly went to her desk and grabbed her clipboard and pen.

"Uh. Michael, you're behind Ariel." She said pointing at the back of the room where I sit at.

I quickly went to my seat at the back of the room while Michael followed me and sat behind me.
I'm beside one of my best friends, Prince. He's pretty nice and quiet. He's one of those boys that are so obsessed with basketball games and girls and he's kinda a flirt. I kinda don't like those type of boys but at good thing that we're just friends. He also gets bullied a lot, which makes me feel bad for him. I would see him get bullied from a few boys and girls and stand up for him and tell them to stop. They would walk away and Prince would thank me every time. We've know each other since 1st grade and he's kinda like a brother to me.

I shyly sat down in my desk next to Prince and sat my binder on the desk.

"Okay class, we're going to be talking more about class rules and expectations." Ms. Steely said turning on the projector.

Oh, that's right, every first week of school, we always go through class rules and expectations. How fun! Not. But at least we don't have to learn anything until next week I guess.

I think imma just not pay attention, I've been through this with all of my classes yesterday and I know it all. I know it's really not a smart choice for me but I don't care, it's the first week of school.
I put one earphone in my right ear and my phone started playing a Jackson 5 song, "I Want You Back." I put my hood over my head and laid on the desk.
A few moments later, I felt a light tap on my back. I looked back and Michael handed me a small piece of paper and smiled at me. I smiled at him back and turned back around.
I opened the paper and at the very top of it and it says, "Hi" nicely written on the paper with black ink.
I softly chuckled and grabbed my pencil and wrote "Hi" and handed the paper back to him.
The class door opened and Nia came rushing in. Everyone's attention turn towards her as she nervously chuckled and sat in her seat in front of the class.

I wonder what she's been doing...

The teacher put her marker down on the board and smiled at Nia.

"Wow, I knew we were missing somebody today." She smiled at Nia then continued talking about rules.

Michael handed me the small paper and it says, "You're so quiet. How come you never talk to me?" I
looked back at him and he smiled at me.

I wrote down, "You were on tour." and I handed it back to him.

A few moments later he gave me the paper and it says, "You can still text or call me."

I grabbed my pencil and wrote down, "I don't know your number."  and handed it back to him.

Prince looked at me with a "What are you doing?" look on his face. I shook my head and smiled.  Prince ripped a small price of paper in his notebook and start writing.

Haha. More notes?

Michael handed me a different piece of paper, a tinier piece of paper and the paper we were writing on.
The tiny paper had his number on it and he wrote on the other paper that says, "There's my number if I ever go back on tour. Don't show anybody and don't loose it."
I smiled and wrote down, "Thanks" then wrote my number down and gave it back to him.

Michael handed me the paper and it says, "We should hang out sometime. Just you, your sister and my brothers. We're having a pool party soon."

I smiled in excitement and write down, "Cool. When is it?" and handed it back to him.

Prince gave me his paper and smiled at me. I read it and it says, "What are y'all talkin bout?" I chuckled and wrote down, "What do you mean?" and gave it back to him. He read the paper and smirked at me and start writing.
Prince finally gave me the paper and it says, "You and Michael passing notes. What are y'all talkin bout?" I sighed.

He's so nosey.

I wrote, "None of your business Midget." I handed it back to him and he looked at it and heard him gasp, making me laugh a little.

Michael handed me his paper and it says, "I don't know yet, I'll let you know when."

I wrote down, "Okay." with a smiley face and handed it back to him.

Prince handed me his paper and it says, "Midget? I'm a few inches taller than you." I looked at him and chuckled and did the same.

I've been passing notes with Michael and Prince the whole class period. Michael talked about his tour  and Prince just kept being silly the whole time. Now, it's time to leave the class since the bell rang.
I got up from my seat and handed the paper back to Michael.
"Do you want me to keep this?" I asked him.

Michael shook his head and smiled.

"No, I can keep it." He said taking the paper.

I smiled walking towards the front of the room behind Prince. Michael and I walked out of the classroom together and awkwardly walked down the hallway.
"I-I guess I'll see you later, I have to go to Biology." I said shyly.
"Okay bye." Michael smiled walking to his right.

Dang, he's kinda cute. 💖
