Chapter 48: Surprise From Michael

Later that day...

"I said leave me alone!" I aggressively yelled loud enough so that Kaitlyn can listen.

Kaitlyn's been knocking on my room door for a long time and won't leave me alone. She keeps begging me to take her back but she won't get it through her thick head that I don't want to be with her anymore.

"Please Michael! I'm sorry! I'm very sorry!" She sobbed through the door.

I feel like she's never going to leave unless I knock her out with the door. My door is heavy and could cause a concussion if you hit it hard on somebody.

Jospeh hit me as hard as he can with that door by accident. It was when I was eight. He didn't even care to say sorry. He just laughed.

"Michael! How many times do I have to say I'm sorry for you to forgive me?!" She cried.

"You can say it for infinity and beyond times and I will still not forgive you. So you should go." I said carelessly writing lyrics on a piece of paper.

"Michael please forgive me!!!" She cried.

"Over my dead body." I fake chuckled.

"Ugh!!!" I heard her slide down the door and sob loudly.

I got up from my chair and took off my shirt while still hearing her sob and knocking the door nonstop.

I grabbed a good looking shirt and pants out of my closet.

I changed my clothes and sprayed cologne all over me and picked my Afro out.

"Michael! Open the door! Please listen to me! Please. I'm sorry! I love you Michael I really do! I wasn't thinking right!" Kaitlyn spoke through the door twisting the locked door knob.

I ignored her and grabbed my phone to text Ariel.

I haven't seen Ariel since she's been in the hospital and I haven't told her about what happened between Kaitlyn and I.

Latoya and her are best friends so she probably knows already.

"Hey Ariel are you home?" I texted.

She hasn't texted or called me in a while either and doesn't really talk to me at school.

I'll try to talk to her but she always end up pushing me away and I've heard that she's been skipping class to cry in the bathroom.

I'm worried about her.

"Michael!" Kaitlyn cried.

She's getting on my last nerve.

How in the world did she come in the house anyway?

I'm home alone with Tito and he probably brought her in.

"Michael open the door!" She cried in hurt.

I annoyedly and quickly put on my shoes and turn off everything in my room.

I swung the door open to see Kaitlyn fall backwards from leaning on the door.

I shook my head in disbelief and she quickly got up.

Her hair is everywhere and her face is red and wet and she look like she hasn't showered in days.

"What do you want." I gritted my teeth.

She took a deep shaky breath as she wiped her tears off her face.

"I want you to forgive me Michael. This is the only time I did something wrong and you should give me another cha-"

"Why would I give you another chance when you cheated on me with that other guy and lied to me all these times. I wouldn't take back someone who cheated on me. A cheater is always a cheater, a lier is always a lier." I sternly said.

She stood in silence, still sniffing from crying so hard and tears are rushing down her face.

"You know, some people can actually change. I will do anything to get you back Michael. I'll change. Just please forgive me." She grabbed my arm.

"Kaitlyn, no. I've wasted two months, thinking that we were going to be together forever and believing you when you lied about Ariel being a terrible person and you said that you're a virgin. I don't want to date anybody that has been touched from another male and not just that, I don't want to date anybody that rapes another person!!"

She cried some more.

"I'm sorry Michael. I was wrong!" She admitted. "I'll say sorry to Ariel too, I promise! I really do feel sorry-"

"You literally raped a guy. That's a crime. I don't want forgive a criminal. I don't trust criminals. And I also don't want to take back a damn gold digger! You owe me all that money!" I shouted having her to step back a little.

"Michael! I'm sorr-"

"I don't want to hear it." I mummered. "Now if you will excuse me, I have to plan a surprise for Ariel after two months of hating her because of you." I said before I walked down the spiral stairs.

I heard her gasp behind me while she followed me.

"Tito!" I called. "Can you take me to the store?" I asked.

"Michael, what are you doing? What do you mean?" She cried as we stopped at the bottom of the stairs.

I sighed and looked at her.

"I had a crush on her before you came into my life and ruined everything. I was going to ask her out but I never got a chance to after you told me that damn lie." I said careless of her feelings.

She gasped and cried harder.

I stood staring at her hoping that I broke her heart like she broke mine. I want her to feel my pain.

I looked away and see Tito smiling far behind her.

"Ah. Did you finally catch her wrong doings?" He said like a proud parent.

"Yes, and I want to continue to try to be with the girl I really want."

"Ariel?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Yes. Let's go." I waked out the door.

"But she's with...Prince." He said while following me and closing the door behind him.

"I'll wait until she breaks up with him. I'm patient." I shrugged walking to his car.

We get in the car and we buckle up.

"So were just gonna leave Kaitlyn in the house?" He asked.

"She'll leave." I shrugged.

We drove off and he took me to the store.

We're in Walmart and I'm debating whether I should give her flowers with a teddy bear or lots of Takis bags for her because a few years ago she was addicted to them.

I don't see her eating them anymore. Probably cause I never really see her.

"Tito. Help me. Do you know anything that Ariel likes?" I nudged his arm gently.

He shrugged and raised his eyebrows.

"I don't know what the girl likes. Just get girly stuff."

"Like what?" I asked.

"Like a Barbie.. da fuck, I don't know." He shrugged.

"She's fifteen dude." I rolled my eyes.

"Some roses and chocolates." He shrugged.

"But they don't have that stuff until Valentine's Day. It's the Christmas season ya know."

"Well give her a mistletoe, uh... a Santa hat, elf, pajamas." He listed.

"Tito you're not helping." I sighed and walked down an isle.

"Well. I don't know what a fifteen year old girl likes."

"What are the stuff you give your girlfriend?" I stopped looking around the shelves of food.

"Uh. Teddy bears, panties, socks, sometimes when she's being salty for no reason, I buy her pads cause that's a sign that she's in her period."

I looked at him and rolled my eyes.

"I buy her diamond rings, necklaces, bracelets, anklets, earrings, you name it." He cooed as he chewed on his gum.

I raised my eyebrow catching an idea.

"That's it. I should buy her a ring." I smiled and walked down the isle.

"But why a ring? That's a little too pushy." He said behind me.

"No, a best friend ring, I'll have one too." I said rushing to the jewelry section.

"Alright. That's good."

I stared down through the thick glass and looked at all the necklaces and rings they have. All gold, silver and diamonds shining through the glass.

"Hey, I found one." Tito called from the far left side of me.

I rushed over to him and looked at what he was pointing.

A plain shiny gold ring.

"That's ugly. That's probably a wedding ring for a groom. I'm looking for a best friend type ring."

"That is a best friend type ring, you can just ask one of those people to carve it or something."

I nodded in agreement.

I got one of the employee's attention and asked her to carve out two gold rings. One of them is going to say "Best" and the other one is going to say "Friends."

She said it was going to take a while so we spent thirty minutes looking around and shopping for Ariel.

Tito drove in front of their house and I got all the stuff I bought for Ariel out of the trunk and struggled and carry them to the door.

I pressed the doorbell a few times and waited for about fifteen seconds.

The door slowly opened, having me to be excited for what Ariel's about to see until I realized that it's Trey.

He look like he just woke up.

"Hey?" He raised an eyebrow looking at me puzzled.

"Is Ariel home?"

He shook his head no and looked at his watch.

"No, she should be coming home in about- OH SHIT IM LATE FOR PRACTICE!" He jumped.

He went back inside, leaving the door open.

"Come in! Come in!" He rushed around the living room.

I walked in and nicely and neatly placed everything on the couch.

"When she gets home, make sure she sees this and say that this is from me. I have to leave before Joseph comes home." I walked back to the door.

"Okay. Bye see you later." He took off his shirt, not caring that I was watching and hurriedly put on another shirt.

I quickly left and walked back home. Luckily, Joseph is not here.

riҽӏ's Թօѵ•

I've been walking around the mall with Denise for about an hour and I feel like I want to break down.

I've gotten a free makeover at this place and I watched her eat food and we bought a lot of clothes.

It's was fun but the thought of me being pregnant keeps coming to me.

The words from Doctor Brown, "You're pregnant" has been haunting me since I left the hospital.

I wish this was all a nightmare.

I didn't realize that I was pregnant. My stomach isn't even big. It's just a little bump, like I'm bloating or something.

I hate it.

"C'mon Ariel! Let's go to the children's store so we can look a the little kids stuff and baby stuff." Denise squealed.

My eyes widened and I shook my head as my heart pumped faster.

"No! Why??" I panicked.

"So we can look at stuff we want for our future kids if it ever exists in ten years." She giggled.

She grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the store.

"No. I don't want to go. I'll stay here and wait till you're done." I slid her hand off my arm.

"C'mon. My cousin and I do this all the time. We look at baby clothes and imagine our future children wearing it." She persuade.

"I prefer not to. I'm really not in the mood." I look down.

"Ariel. You're being a party pooper. I want to know more about you and I know you're not boring."

"I'm not boring, just depressed. Let me be." I mumbled crossing my arms.

She grabbed my arm and pulled me into the store not giving any fucks.

I look around and see pink and blue separated on both sides. Left is light blue and other dark colors to represent the boys and right is light pink and girly colors for the girls.

She looks around in awe like she's entered Disney World and I stood in horror like I've entered hell.

I don't want to even think about babies. I've never had so much hatred towards a baby before. I can't stand being at a children's place anymore.

Cause all I see is baby stuff and babies with their adult parents.

I feel a lot of shame.

I'm a teen and I'm pregnant.

She pulled my arm while skipping around to the girls section, looking at all the baby onesies.

"Awww. Look how small it is." She cooed as she held out a pink Minnie Mouse onesie.

My heart pounds faster, wanting to snatch that thing out of her hands and rip it apart, thinking about the baby I have inside of me.

I don't even know the gender of it and I'm not planning to cause all I want is abortion.

She pulled out another outfit.

"Oh! I'm so totally getting this for my future daughter!" She pulled out her phone and took a picture of it.

Her words are mocking me.

"Okay, let's leave. This is just a waste of time." I said impatiently.

"No. We've only been here for like thirty seconds and you want to leave already?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Yes. I do. Let's leave now."

"What? Do you feel like throwing up again? I thought you've been taking your meds." She put the onesie down.

"I haven't. I forgot. I don't feel good." I lied holding my forehead.

She sighed and rolled her eyes.

"Fine. Let's go." She mumbled.

I pulled her arm and rushed out of the store.

"I'll call Sabrina to pick me up." I sighed pulling my phone out of my pocket.

My feet are very tired from walking around the mall for a long time and my stomach hurts for not eating anything since yesterday.

I feel weak.

I hope the baby is dying...

My fingers also hurt from carrying a lot of bags of clothes.

I called Sabrina and she told me that she'll be here in any minute so we start to ride the elevator to go down stairs.

"Hey, I'm sorry that I forced you to go to the mall with me.", Denise apologized as we walked.

"It's okay. I don't feel good today, maybe we should go next time."

"Yeah. Good idea.", She agreed lowering her voice and looking down.

I looked at her and she looks bummed. I start to feel bad and sigh.

If only I didn't get pregnant, I'd be fine.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

She sighed, "I expected for this day to be good but you're still sick."

"Well, I just left the hospital a few days ago, I need to heal."

"Oh yeah, I meant to ask you about the reason why you had a heart attack." She looked at me.

I stopped at the corner of the wall and sighed irritably.

I hate when people make stuff up.

"No, I didn't have a heart attack. I fainted." I rolled my eyes. "Paparazzi likes to make up stuff."

"Well what was the reason why?" She asked.

"I- uh-" I hesitated thinking of a lie to tell

I shrugged uneasily as she watched me, looking puzzled.

"I had low blood pressure." I lied.

"Ohh. That's bad." She grimaced.

I looked at my phone.

"Yeah, I gotta go, my sister is here."

"Oh. Okay. Text or call me when you get home." She smiled and reached for a hug.

"I'll do that." I hugged her and we parted away from each other.

"Bye." She waved.

I got in the car and realize that she picked up Prince too surprisingly. I was scared because she's mad at him and I thought she starting talking about me being pregnant. Gladly, she didn't, she picked him up because his parents are fighting again.

The car ride home was silent because Prince was sleeping and I didn't want to talk because I'm still depressed.

Sabrina unlocked the door and we walked in, the first thing I saw was a lot of pretty stuff on the couch.

"Woah. What the hell is this?" Sabrina said to herself as we walked in.

"Omg Prince did you do this?" I smiled at him brightly and kissed him on the cheek.

He chuckled nervously and scratched the back of his head.

"No?" He looks back at the stuff in a confused look.

"Stop lying prince." I chuckled and walked over to the pretty stuff.

Sabrina picked up the card that this huge teddy bear was holding. She opened it while I opened a bag of Takis sitting next to the bear.

I really don't want to eat this but I feel like I'm going to faint again so I am.

Plus, it's spicy and I'm not allowed to eat it because I'm pregnant.

It feels good not to follow the rules

"Oh Ariel, it's from Michael." Sabrina held the card out in front of my face.

"The fuck?" Prince mumbled.

My face turned into a frown.

"Oh." I said in shock.

Michael?

Why would he give me this?

Isn't he with Kaitlyn?

This is like romantic stuff.

I like it.

"Why did he give you all this stuff?" Prince questioned.

I shrugged and appreciated the huge bear that he gave me followed with candy, money, nail polish and perfume.

He really didn't have to buy all this for me.

This is sweet.

"Omg he gave you a gift card too." Sabrina picked up a card with a big heart on it.

"What does it say?" I looked over at her.

"You make me so happy. I can feel your energy through the walls. The sky is the limit. Higher contiguousness always. Working hard as always. Love you, Michael." Sabrina read out loud.

She picked up another card.

"Ooh. And this one says.. I chose to be your friend, but falling in love with you was out of my control." Sabrina read the card.

"Nah uh. Burn that." Prince took the card out of Sabrina's hands. "He knows not to flirt with my girl."  He rips the card in half twice and throws it on the floor.

"Prince." I nudged his arm.

"Why the hell did he bring all this stuff here like he owns you?" Prince raised his voice.

"Prince, I don't know. He's just a friend. Friends do this."

"He's in love with you and he always tries to flirt with you. Doesn't that bother you at all?" He pointed at the stuff.

"No, because he's not flirting and he's not in love with me, we're just friends. Prince chill."

"It's says-"

"He's in love with being a friend of mine. That's what the card mean. Stop turning it the other way."

"You stop turning it the other way. I know what the card means."  He mumbled and sat in the couch.

"Whatever Prince. Stop being ridiculous."

"At least Michael didn't go too far like you did with Ariel." Sabrina spat.

Prince looked at us with a puzzled look.

Oh my gosh don't say it.

She's gonna bring up wth pregnancy.

I shot a look at her and gritted my teeth waiting for her to say something else so I can slap her.

"Did you tell Prince?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Tell me about what?" Prince questioned.

My hearts start to beat faster and I felt a lot of heat.

"No. I will later." My voice shook.

I won't.

"About what?" Prince looked concerned.

"I'll tell you later." I spoke to him.

"Yeah, you better. Michael is a better person for you, not him." Sabrina rolled her eyes at Prince and walked away.

"What the hell is going on?" Prince sounded more frustrated.

I sighed and sat on the couch..

"I don't know." I shrugged.

"Tell me what you're going to say. I want to know what's going on." He sat beside me.

"I have to call Michael over and thank him for the stuff he gave me and I need to talk to him." I pulled my phone out.

"Why not talk to me? I'm curious about what you were going to say."

I need to make up something cause I'm not going to tell him that I'm pregnant. That's terrible.

"Is it bad?" He asked.

"No, it's really nothing.." I put the phone to my ear.

We heard a knock in the door after five minutes of waiting on Michael and I popped out of the couch to get the door.

I opened the door to see Michael standing there with a bright smile on his face.

I jumped in his arms and hugged him tightly.

"Oh Ariel, I missed you!" Michael said as he held me tight.

"Missed me? You saw me yesterday." I giggled.

"You never talk in class anymore." He let go of me.

"Come in." I smiled opening the door wider.

I closed the door after he walk in and Prince and Michael made eye contact.

"So did you like the stuff that I gave you?" Michael sat on the couch.

"Yes, I love it. You really didn't have to buy me all of this." I blushed sitting between Michael and Prince.

"You really didn't have to. You could've kept your money and keep Ariel off your mind." Prince added.

We looked over at Prince.

Oh no.

"Michael, I'm sorry for having to start a argument so early but why did you buy this for my girlfriend?"

I sighed irritably and crossed my arms.

"Because I haven't talked her in a few days. I would see her at school and she'll always be crying in the bathroom and I just wanted to brighten her day." He explained.

"Well, you need to know that I'm there for her. So, you don't have to do my job." Prince said.

"When were you there for her? I never see you." Michael squinted his eyes.

"I'm there for her all the time. After she cried in the bathroom, I calmed her down and try to see why she's crying and still don't know why she is." Prince glanced at me.

"Yeah, why are you crying all the time Ari?" Michael asked me.

I scratched at the back of my head nervously and shrugged.

"You can tell me anything. You're my best friend and I love you." Michael put his hand on mine.

I felt a little uncomfortable because I know Prince is staring and there's probably going to be more than just arguing.

Not even a second, I felt prince slap Michael's hand off mine.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Prince raised my voice.

"What?" Michael gave me a puzzled look.

"You know what! This is my girlfriend! Don't ever say that to her and don't touch her!"

"Prince, he's my best friend. He can't love me?" I yelled at Prince.

"Hell no he can't with all these damn flowers and romantic gifts for you! Best friends don't do that!" Prince yelled back.

"Prince stop being so ridiculou-"

"Why did you buy her all this stuff!?" Prince yelled at Michael.

"She's an awesome person and I love her! Yeah, I said it!" Michael yelled back.

"You will never take her away from me!" Prince pointed at my chest.

"One day I will once she finds out that I'm the right guy for her!" Michael stood up from the couch.

I didn't expect that coming from him.

I thought he's with Kaitlyn.

"Michael! Stop! Why would you say that!"
I got up.

"I'm the right guy for her! I love her with all my heart and soul! I would do anything for her! You're not the right guy so you can really stop giving her stuff like this and telling her hey you love her when she has a great guy her own!"

"Prince-"

"Get all of this shit and get your money back!" Prince yelled.

"No. Don't do it Michael." I put my hand in front of him. "Thank you for the gifts you gave me I really like it. Just excuse Prince ." I grabbed Prince's arm and pulled him all the way to the dining room for a private talk.

"Look. You really need to stop." I gritted my teeth and yanked his arm down.

"You're really gonna let him flirt with you like this?! Ariel, he's trying to get with you! Understand that!"

"No he's not! Shut up!" I hit his arm.

"You're really going to let him do this to you?" Prince crossed his arms.

"He's to flirting. Okay? I love you prince. I love you so much. If he was flirting with me, then I would deny everything." I looked into his angry eyes.

"If you really love me then you would go in there and tell him to get that lovey dovey shit and get his money back."

There was silence for a minute.

I didn't know what to say.

"Prince." I sighed.

"You're not gonna do it aren't you." He walked past me.

My heart tore.

"Prince wai-"

"No. I'm getting out of here." He snatched his coat off the couch and stormed to the door.

"Prince!" I called.

He walked out and slammed the door.

I let out a shaky sigh and slammed myself on the couch.

Where's he going?

He doesn't have a car and his parents are home fighting.
